To me the ending seems like they were supposed to have a third installment that dealt with prowl and Jetfire with Starscream’s spark but since the license expired we won’t see that. Either way I think it’s a great comic even if it was a little rushed towards the end. I guess like with idw2 it’s up to us to draw our own conclusions to where it goes after the end. I’m gonna miss idw Transformers.
Maybe one of the writers will pull a Marc laidlaw and just post how they would have continued had they still been in charge. Laidlaw gave us how half life would have ended on some blog.
@@crimsondynamo615 well the writer for idw2 and the writers of the beast wars comic reboot have already revealed what they would’ve done if things weren’t cut short. Not sure about the SG writers though
@@GoBeyondComics That’s what I’m hoping for Go Beyond. I think the story to this mirror universe in Transformers could use more fleshing out. The role inversions of both the Autobots and Decepticons interests me.
How sad that this is the last issue it was really good and hoestly I think it deserves an third issue talking about prowl and what happened during the aftermath of the fall of metroplex. (I was really hoping to see seek Rain makers in IDW shattered glass.)
SG soundwave joins the hall of G.O.A.T along with the normal soundwave although for different reasons obviously this is why I'm OK with idw's take only being a morality shift I only wish we could have more to flesh out more characters and see the SG decepticons take back cybertron and vanquish the SG autobots and one of my complaints for the IDW Run on shattered glass is the lack of development or anything intresting for the majority of the autobots with exceptions being ratchet; slicer, jetfire and even ultra magnus to an extent but the rest where I'm evil for the sake of evil they felt like the G1 decepticons where they were just evil they straight up felt like 80's cartoon villains only diffrence is they were the rated R versions of them as IDW first continuity fleshed out the decepticons and why they ended up the way they did we saw megatron go from noble beginnings and not wanting violence even when it came to defending himself to the Tyranical warlord who lost his way ofc he did eventually realize it and tried to atone for them but I'm not saying we needed that for optimus but in SG he's just evil for the sake of evil his backstory doesn't even share resemblance to any version of optimus either as he's a senator before the war we dont even know why he's friends with megatron to begin with as in TFP they were friends before and both wanted better for cybertron untill megatrons pride was damaged when optimus was elected to be a prime over him but it made sense before why they were friends while optimus and megatron want completly different things and optimus is even a complete dick to megatron before the war honestly SG Optimus is just a moustache twirler and the rest of the autobots are such nothing characters with goldbug being insecure his only unique trait that separates him from the rest of the autobots. I will say I did enjoy what they did with ultra magnus in SG as Magnus kinda Filled mainline starscreams role except that he was actually successful and kicked his leaders ass tbh I chalked up him trading bodies with optimus to him being insecure from what we've seen and him hiding his true face as he really probably didnt need primes body to get the other autobots to follow him they know he leads the wreckers and they have such a fearsome reputation so it would be safe to assume the other autobots would fear ultra magnus as the leader and from what we saw are fiercely loyal to him and as previously stated he kicked optimus's ass and the other autobots definitely know that so they would definitely fear him even more but imagine if they had the time to flesh that out even more. I dont want this to come as bashing as I understand they were limited and had to wrap as quickly as possible but I'm just sharing the possible potential if they had the time to really develop and flesh out the world of shattered glass... I'm really gonna miss idw as their first continuity was amazing and they fresh new designs and iconic reworks of certain characters honestly I will never forget the impact they had on transformers as their megatron backstory has been the blueprint for most megatrons post the idw origin shame the iDW continuity itself was never brought to screens but with that being said content with the ending of SG I just really wish they had more time to tell the story they wanted
Honestly a shattered glass series could and would be as popular as the mainline transformers heck it's up their with Og beast wars for how much entertainment it gives me and makes me excited for the future

Well considering that in the original shattered glass even the evil decepticons were horrified by the Autobots’ actions definitely says a lot. Then again Rodimus, Optimus and Magnus were a whole lot more insane, I mean rodimus made a deal with the literal devil to kill everyone in his way and Prime had his mind broken
I'm not surprised by it. Some of these characters get 180ed and it's crazy how worse they are than the standard villains. Like how in Beast Wars when Rhinox got flipped, he went from a peace loving scientist, to a loud mouthed psychopath. It's like the more inherently good a character is, the far more nightmarish they'll be if they were made evil.
@@Zhortac yeah, I Just find it ironic that the autobots are a scarier and more effective evil then the cons usually are. Hell this series started out with them being the victors that completely wiped out humanity and most of the cons. It’s a shame since The SG decepticons are if the cons never lost sight of their original goals or freedom fighting ways and the SG AutoBots if Optimus and his people were corrupt as the old order they tried to bring down.
well at least IDW went out on a strange note. Soundwave being the great hero was perfect. I think it would be cool if they made a Shatteredglass Metroplex. Partly because I want a Metroplex that wont kill my entire years budget. lol
It really was, it’s like Danny Lore watched my first series of video and made my favorite bot the hero in the end. I’m shocked they haven’t released a shattered glass Metroplex figure.
@@GoBeyondComics who knows maybe there will be a Metroplex in the future that is more G1 oriented then the last one and that will be recolored into a Shattered Glass version. Glad that Ratchet seemed to be the least evil autobot in the series. The only Ratchet I own is the Shattered Glass one, the one that came with the Prime.
Soundwave is such a goat. But it’s kinda surprising to see him kick almost everyone who he fights in this comic’s ass, when he was kinda weak before this

Yeah I always found it weird they didn’t utilize Shockwave more in this story. It would’ve been cool to end it with a Soundwave and Shockwave team up. Lol “homie Soundwave” is good too
Overall I do consider this a great conclusion to the series even if it at had a few flaws but since IDW license of transformers is at an end I image that meant things had to be rushed abit for the sake of time
Utra Magnus in Primes body is now Ultra Prime and Optimus in Magnus's body is called Optimus Magnus I am surprised that you did not realize how Ultra Prime is basically the Ultra mangus but without the Magnus armor

@@GoBeyondComics If everything is reversed, I would not be surprised to find out if the Primes made by Primus are just as evil or even more so than Primus himself. That would also mean Megatronus would be a good Prime, which sounds really cool.

A great end to an amazing comic I do wish we got more about this universe but still it’s good to see the Decepicons walk away with the win

Too bad IDW lost the Transformers license back in December. I would’ve loved to see this comic series continue - really great writing!
