- I needed to quickly re-sharpen my chisel for another video, (a Lyre hollowing demo), I did this very quickly using my Scheppach Tiger 2000S, a budget water grinding wheel, while not as fine as the Tormek that i used in the past it does the job just fine. I mostly hone by eye day to day and over time my tools needs re-squaring and the 25 degree starting point returned and its helpful to use the eclipse tool to set the 30 degree micro bevel.
In this video I am using:
24mm European made Chisel from Aldi
Scheppach Tiger 2000S grinder
Faithful diamond stone set 400, 600, 1000 grit
Green honing compound
( I usually hone on the leather strop but I substituted wood here, MDF works as well)

Hello,
Bought the same machine years ago but my wheel is so soft it disintegrates and get smaller every session especcialy with gouges (and i dont push)
Do you know replacement wheels by other brands that could work?
The Tormek T4 is very high quality and is listed to be the same size stone, 200mm. 40mm 12mm internal. Need to check further before purchasing but it’s a good option. The scheppach has a Ø200 x Ø12 x 40 mm wheel
Any chance you can do a video on the Lyre bridge start to finish?
Absolutely. My son is coming over to film some videos next month, bridge making was one of them.
