I'm sobbing right now. Camilla is probably my favorite character in the book and you captured her essence and her mystery in such a beautiful way. I loved every second of this.
THIS MUST HAVE BEEN SO HARD - because out of out characters we know least about her THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY INSANE, BEAUTIFUL AND BRILLIANT. I love all these voiceovers and text. Truly amazing.

This video really got to me. Idk if I'm just thoroughly depressed at this moment (lol) but it made me cry 🥲 The emotions are really powerfully portrayed in it and its like I could feel the whole journey of what has happened in her life through this video. It's like the sadness you get after finishing a book and realising you don't get to spend time with the characters anymore and you wonder what the rest of their life will be like. A sort of unknown. Anyway, I really love how you edited it and the scenes you chose to express the feelings of camilla, her brother and even the short scenes of Henry. It felt like I was being shown the true relationship between her and her brother and how deeply complicated and painful it is. I also feel like I need some distance from the video until I can rewatch it again, cos its making my heart hurt. But take that as a compliment to your great editing. Also that whole "i want to say (sorry)..." then the beautiful zooming out shot and lighting of Charles in the bathtub, switched to "you know what they say (hurt the ones we love)" and Henry looking up - that whole sequence is so beautiful. - I think even without your description or knowing the story, the way you edited it makes the viewer know this transition has deep implications for camilla's story and that something important happened in her perspective/connection to these two men. And the way you combined young and old camilla facial expressions is so wonderful touches of editing. bravo.
i feel so blessed rn because you pictured EXACTLY what i put in it with editing. especially the part with the ending and the feeling of never seeing your characters again. you have no idea how great it makes me feel that someone far away can feel what i feel at the same time. i hope you’re doing okay and thank you for sharing your thoughts, i really appreciate that 🩶

I was just wondering, the shot you have of Camilla looking at the gun, is this to imply that you believe Camilla was trying to manipulate Henry behind the scenes to murder charles for her? It's just a theory I have seen pop up a few places in discussion posts. Or is it that Camilla is simply noticing the gun in Charles possession? I really like reading your thoughts on the book, so I just thought I would ask if you don/t mind sharing. :D
@@rabbitmaze omg i never though of it that way!!! this is such a good theory, i absolutely love the camilla-is-the-psychopath-of-the-group theory, it just makes so much sense including her relationships with charles and henry and how richard perceives her and how everyone is in love with her because she shows them exactly what they want as psychopaths do. but when i was making this, i was more referring to the moment after henry’s death, how she thinks about what killed him - the gun or her love? but yours are great too. i love the most about editing and especially book edits is that there are so many perspectives and everyone experiences it differently. btw, i love talking about tsh too so it’s totally okay!! i’m happy every time someone shares their feelings with me 🩶

So many hidden depths and layers to these characters and your video. I totally agree with what you said about editing! It's truly a magical way of expression! I really hope you will make some more videos of The secret history, because this video has sparked some obsessive yearning in me for more Camilla content and Charles too (especially the way you were able to contrast his younger self with his older, it made their relationship even more tragic. The actor you chose is amazing at expressing emotions in his scenes. I can't believe I am feeling SO terrible for him as well as Camilla). Gosh, now I really wish for a TSH film with your cast! Thanks again for your feeling and thought provoking video.
