Ive's 'HEYA' is an imaginative and deep song with the motif of a classic Korean fairy tale. It will be more interesting if you know the Korean classics about the tiger, the hundred-year-old fox, and the sun and moon. The lyrics, full of satire and metaphor, are amazing.

the EP is really solid.. also idk if that's just me but so many songs in kpop lately remind me of britney's discography, Accendio's production sounds like it could a be freshened up Femme Fatale track with added dnb elements, while Blue Heart is giving Heaven on Earth

The song takes its motif from a Korean legend. A Korean old legend says that In daylight, a Big Tiger tried to swallow the Sun but was too hot and couldn't swallow it, and then at night, it tried to swallow the Moon but was too cold and could not bite it.

I think it samples no diggity, but it was soo tasteful and the song had its own identity 100%! (I loved after like but the sample of I will survive always felt clunky for me, so I'm so happy they've done such a nice job with Heya!)

The main problem I have with Heya is the chorus highly relies on these underdeveloped and frivolous Heyas which hinders my enjoyment of the track. It's disappointing because I love the instrumental, but the adlib just sounds underdeveloped and it doesn't flow or sound well. It's as if Ryan S Jhun hastily threw these adlibs together last minute much like IVE's ooohs and lalalas in Love Dive and you ooo and eye eyes in After Like. The mixing also sounds muddled and harsh, lacking that clean and crispness of the member's voices and the production.
