The use of the Fonds d'Orgue in the middle section has always been contentious, for me at least. I can see the arguments for and against it, but if it is necessary to use clever film editing to conceal the registration changes, that seems to be an argument against... The point clearly isn't about the registration per se, but rather how the registration might affect the character of the piece, and whether we can infer from our understanding of the instruments and practices of Marchand's time the possible registrations for that middle section. Excellent interpretation as usual!
