1:48 your theory and thought here is point on in reflecting the inverse relationship to ethics and aesthetics and if I may recommend checking out Michel Foucault lectures on Aesthetics and ethics (Michel Foucault Aesthetics, Method, and Epistemology 1954-1984) as well as checking out some Of the counter Greek thought that came out of Diogenes the Cynic for his lambasting of Greco philosophical links between ethics, morality and aesthetics
You present an important concept, which I generally thought about before and even tried to implement it in my own life Trolls today do their trolling either because it is a reflection of a deep seeded issue they have stemming from a complexity they have, or just for the sake of it, the second reason is a more justifiable reason imo, however what you speak about, is honestly almost dead at this point, I believe the use of jokes to deliver a message has had a long history of existing in intellectual minds over the course of history, but because what we have from those people is just what they said and their writings we tend to view them as being static and serious personas which I don't believe to be the case, but anyways, generally jokes are more straightforward then trolling and makes us judge the person less, but as we see today they have a huge impact on how people think today specially with the rise of memes, so, you can imagine if a troll, which if used the same way you're saying in the video, decided to use their trolling ability to change beliefs, for good or for worse, how influential that would be! It's a double-edged sword, but it is a very powerful tool and I think people who use it generally have good intentions as it is also quite similar to manipulation which lies to the person, so a true troll who does this would be clever because they found that thin line and were able to seperate between the two In fact, I think that influential trolling could probably have more impact on the person than teaching, because it allows them to think for themselves, of course they would have to later decipher the thought that was trolled upon, but to initiate thinking to begin with, is the most important step, along with subliminal messaging along the way I don't know why I started yappin but just had some stuff which I felt like sharing, sorry if I wrote too much, and btw when you said chill guy I instantly though of Ding Liren, the previous chess world champ lol, maybe if you have a chess account we can play sometime, but anyways, kudos to you for brining this concept to light specially nowadays
Yeah man. It's just that my entire Master's course was conducted through Socratic dialogue, and in that I was humbled many times and took influence from my professors who used humor and irony in a very effective way. Unfortunately, I don't play chess, but thank you for the offer.
I’ve always thought bro was a bit silly but I’m sure that doesn’t undermine his intelligence. He chose to follow his silliness though to the end but still wound up being an interesting guy. Idc if he was annoying I could see myself doing that to people

I've read some Foucault, so I'll check that out! Thanks.

socrates let everyone say their arguments and then just said "no, u"
And then he watched them get triggered and expose themselves (demonstrate their lack of knowledge).
nice video 👍
Thanks!

Yeah, and I think deep down he always believed in people. Today everyone is so cynical that it would be hard to take him seriously, I think.
I got the sword fish thing… my head is comparitively smaller than most, but it’s fine nausea I have leajed out spare brain in my massive monkey gums
Return to monke.
