Hmmm, was that Hank Green when she mentioned the speaker talking too fast and needing to slow the vid down😂
Edit: this has given a good deal to think about! Thank you! I'm in the ENG101 class starting Module 2 and my first reflection on this section was about the "basics of argument" which I couldn't help but think about some of my botched attempts at argument (civil or otherwise) in the past. I've grown a lot over the years and am proud of myself that I can keep a cool head during tense moments and stand up for myself in a way that doesn't cause too much conflict while still standing my ground. Still can't help but think about some of the arguments that leave something to be desired or how I could have improved.
When Dr. Zarka mentioned the bit about Jargon alienating people, it reminded me of a topic I've been wanting to write about for a while now along the lines of medical patient advocacy. My background is in EMS/fire. The medical world moves so fast and I've seen so many folks, patients and families lament to me about how they feel confused and unheard and feel unable to make educated decisions for themself or their family members.
When she posed the thought project "does anything really have a global audience"? I couldn't help but think of the Truman Show. Fiction, of course, but something about it....

I've always thought YTube's 0.25 speed playback is some sort of funny pranks they kept around with no good reasons, today I learned!

Concise, highly informative, and entertaining. I just wish there were a few book references so that I could cite this info in my papers. 🤷‍♀️ nicely done anyway!

This is pretty cool to know. Hopefully this’ll juice my writing up to where I want it to be, professionally.

Damn, the swipe at Marx.... Should've held up Capital and the manifesto as an example of the contrast 😆😆😆
