I had the pleasure of seeing Jeff and his band do an intimate acoustic set on his first Australian tour. It was one of the most amazing musical experiences of my life. I also caught him burning holes through his eyes on a poster while he thought nobody was looking. He was undoubtedly a brilliant yet troubled man.
It’s also one of the most varied albums ever made. The songs don’t flow into each other and are very spontaneous. Grace will always be my favourite album ever.
@@beantown_billy2405because it’s so overplayed? But he’s the one who made it so famous! I get what you’re saying (it’s a cover, it’s not his song) but he MADE it his song so I totally disagree.
Precious, precious silver and gold. And pearls in oysters flesh. Drop down we two to serve and pray to love. Born again from the rhythm, Screaming down from heaven. Ageless, Ageless I'm there in your arms.
He did acoustic versions of ALL of his songs. That is how they were written and performed originally at the NY coffee houses and OC markets. In fact there is a DVD that has what you are looking for. If I find it or can think of the title, I will share with you.
OH MY GOD that breakdown from 4:26-4:44 is incredible and spine chilling how his voice goes from a scratchy rocker wail to a gorgeous breathless operatic amazingness, holy shit!!! Jeff Buckley is amazing.
it became part of my life all the music he made. if i could only make one songs as good as one of those he made, i would feel the most satisfied man on earth :).
So I was thinking this was just another great live performance of Mojo Pin, but then I got to 4:40 and then I started thinking holy shit this is one of his most magical performances of this song. You know they say there are three parts to a magic act: The Pledge, The Turn, and The Prestige. He nailed all three.
So happy I was looking things up on youtube and came across this gorgeous man and his gorgeous voice. I get a wonderful feeling in the pit of my stomach whenever I hear him sing, but sad at the same time that he's gone.
Of course I didn't belong on earth. He was way too pure and genius to stay here. I hope he's well wherever he is now, cause he didn't wait so long, but he waited in the fire anyway. I still do, and with him the fire's a little bit colder. I really wish heaven exists somehow... so maybe we can meet in another life. Grace changed my life...
Best version and the only song that an make me cry as soon he starts to sing, that very first second and then you hear the perfect chords. What a talent, its beyond everything. I would do everything to see him. I love him but if i met him i would love him and never let him go and he would be giving us chills and tears and so much more. Jeff, Chris cornell, Layne ANC, Kurt,.. Real music was taken from us. & wonderful angels.
When limewire was existing (yes, i am that old), i found Dido's lament sung by Jeff Buckley. It was goosebumps inducing. I even burned a cd.. Gotta look for that again
I'm lying in my bed The blanket is warm This body will never be safe from harm Still feel your hair, black ribbons of coal Touch my skin to keep me whole If only you'd come back to me If you laid at my side Wouldn't need no mojo pin To keep me satisfied Don't want to weep for you, don't want to know I'm blind and tortured, the white horses flow The memories fire, the rhythms fall slow Black beauty I love you so Precious, precious silver and gold and pearls in oyster's flesh Drop down we two to serve and pray to love Born again from the rhythm, screaming down from heaven Ageless, ageless, I'm there in your arms Don't want to weep for you, I don't want to know I'm blind and tortured, the white horses flow The memories fire, the rhythms fall slow Black beauty I love you so, so, slow The welts of your scorn, my love, give me more Send whips of opinion down my back, give me more Well it's you I've waited my life to see It's you I've searched so hard for Don't want to weep for you, I don't want to know I'm blind and tortured, the white horses flow The memories fire, the rhythms fall slow Black beauty I love you so, so, Black, black, black beauty

Can't sleep. Intoxicated. Me and Jeff Buckley ALL NIGHT.
Me too!
2 year later...doing the same thing here
Lots of ground to cover please may I join you?❤️
mysticwritr Few drinks an that. Love it
Drunk on Buckley.
I can't stop listening to Jeff ...
He will be for sure my favorite male singer until I die.
Definitely agree with you there and it is just a testament to how great he was even if his run in music was so short.
Is he still your favorite?
same here!

He is , probably can't stand today's "popular music" anymore! !
Because he's ageless, ageless
Grace was the best album ever recorded... the more I listen the more I'm convinced it is a one of a kind master piece that will never be touched.

it really is brother
The only change needed to make it perfect would be dropping Hallelujah

His speaking voice was so sweet. His singing voice was angelic.
Dead, but somehow still sending us vibrations.
That is how recording stuff works yes
he was so smart at making chord progressions. the only problem is it is almost impossible to learn these chord progressions.
Not even bro. Strap your guitar on your leg until your fingers bleed.
This song is like 3 chords
Isn't this in drop d?
@@symetry96 drop D. You are right
Try doing a Nick Drake song sometime!
One of the few artists that doesn't have a genre. Just a unique sound.
I wonder if he ever did an acoustic version of Dream Brother. I think that would be an absolutely amazing and unique version to listen to!
i feel the same, its unreal how much emotions he can deliver. astonishing. i find it hard to meet the same quality and intention in other artists.
react to cerati! lol wrong video
ND U NEVER WILL
5:32.....absolutely speechless
What Jeff can accomplish using only his raw voice and guitar is surreal. This man's talent is beyond my understanding.
