In case you haven't noticed already, Kazuya's name is a play on the word Yakuza (rearranged) hence why he has that mobster look.

Tekken 1 and 2 were done with actual PS1 hardware, while 3 and onwards were pre rendered on workstations.

Tekken 4 intro holds a special place in my heart. You know Kazuya is a bad guy and yet that intro had me rooting for him so hard, taking those shades off and walking into the building messing all those guards up narrating, and then knocking the camera out. Best scene forever. Also, Jin/Ling Xiaoyu unrequited love story story line was perfect.
Heihachi is still an asshole so I still routed for kazuya despite him also being a villain

Tekken Tag (1)'s introduction movie always gives me painful nostalgia of my late Mom, my sister and I playing it together sat in a dark room almost every night as a kid - so many good memories of me and my sister swapping the controller around every tag and Mom cheering us on (and helping with Unknown because I used to be terrified of her)

7:49 The most iconic moment in the history of TEKKEN. They both put the backs onto each other even though just for survival, there was an understanding between them that the other one won't fight them as long as JACKs were around. And in just like, 6 months or something, they both fought brutually until Kazuya finally killed Heihachi. That moment is very iconic for a Mishima fan (me).

Wow, I’m so old I remember I started playing in the Tekken 2 era. Seeing how much technology and animation evolved from this point of view is amazing.
It’s amazing that Tekken 3 (and 2 if you have nostalgia) still holds up today. Same goes for Soul Blade and Soul Calibur.
I think 1 and 2 don't hold up at all (I played them recently just to see), without the nostalgia glasses 3 is the first really good Tekken imo.
funny enough I think the same of the first 3 WipEout games, which are also all on the PS1. 1 and 2 suck ass, Wip3out is the first game for humans in the series.
As a part of the latest generation, I grew up with Tekken 5. I remember when I was like 8 (When being 8 meant you were innocent lol) I never knew that there was more than one language, so I only watched the action scenes. When I replayed it after over 6 years, I finally realised that Tekken was Japanese.

I highly doubt it they will release Tekken 3 for new consoles. Tekken 1 and 2 maybe, but 3 had a licensed character. Namco doesn't have the right to use Gon anymore. Tekken 3 wasn't released for PS3 either.
However I would love it to see "Tekken 5 Remastered" in PlayStation Store someday.

Tekken 2, Tag Tournament and Dark Resurrection are my favorites.
Especially Tekken 2 and TT, I love how they're both full of seriousness and darkness, even maybe melancholy. I love the vibe they give. And they're both the best intro songs too, freaking L E G E N D A R Y.
Hearing the Tekken 4 intro blare at my local arcade was one of my finest memories.

Kazuya and Heihachi fight in Tekken 7 reminds me of Goku and Frieza in the first time when Goku reach Super Saiyan form,when the planet was burning

I like how Tekken 6 intro doesn't include Lars and Alisa even though the main story mode revolves around the two of them. Like the intro shows Leo, Bob, Miguel and Zafina but not Lars and Alisa lol

I've followed the Tekken series throughout my childhood from 2 to Dark Resurrection -- even though I've never been and never will be good at fighting games -- and this is just such a feel-good nostalgic trip for me.
The way devil jin screams in tekken 5 gives me the goosebumps man!
All of them are really good. If I had to my nostalgia decide I would say that Tekken 2 is my favorite just because it was my first one.

Tekken 5 by far has the best intro, also is the best game of all the saga. Just to hearing the “I’m here now” just takes me back to the glory days of ps2. That intro is just perfection.
Tekken 2 is when it all began for me. Great time to be a kid and great time for video games.
Tekken 2 for nostalgia but I think the Tekken 3 intro is so badass! That's definitely my favorite. Seeing King get all buffed to be a wrestler again with Armor King in the background is awesome.
I know these are the home versions, but I don't like how they added Steve Fox and Christie in the Tekken 4 intro.
In the arcade, it was just Heihachi and the return of Kazuya. I worked at a Namco arcade about the time it came out *2001?!?!* and damn, that game made so much money.
I would work the slow day shift and just stand behind the stupid prize desk and watch that Tekken intro for hours.

I love the intros to this song sure does bring my childhood back memories looking back at this scene the list of Tekken games I have on PS2, and Ps3 are: Tekken 3, tag, 4, 5, 6, and tag 2. I wish I had Tekken 7 then my collection of Tekken games would be complete Tekken to me is almost compared different to Mortal Kombat but even more awesome.

These intros are why I always considered Tekken a quadrilogy! Just the sheer steps forward from Tekken 1all the way to Tekken 4. The reverence for Tekken 5 forward sorta gives me the general age range of this comment section and makes me feel super old. Lol. Because I vividly remember playing the first 3 Tekken games upon release in both the arcade and home console, and how hyped (and subsequently flaborgasted) I was to play Tekken 4 on PS2 when it first released. Man I loved this series. Can't to see what Tekken 8 has in store since I haven't played a "mainline" Tekken game since Tekken 5 (which I did NOT enjoy) and a Tekken game in general since Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Thanks for posting this historical video of progression.

Nah way to many flaws, and retcon. Story wasn't planned further than Tekken 2. Jin getting the devil mark when they told you after that blah blah it's a bloodline ting. Kazuya's back, okay, then Jinpachi... And once again Tekken7 give you even more bloated stories with the Kazumi case...

Tekken 3 intro is my favorite intro to Tekken since my childhood when I was 8 years old it's what got me into playing it in the first place. I still have a list of Tekken games since I was 8-19 years old. The Tekken games I have are; Tekken 3, tag, 4, 5, 6, tag 2 tournament, and 7. Looking back at these intros brings me back memories, too bad Tekken 7 was the last time for it, and R.I.P. to the guy who played Heihachi Mishima who brought so much hype and badass intros to Tekken. Tekken 2 had a cool intro as well, but the ones so have on PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4has brought me so many memories looking at it. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏👏💯

Tekken 5 intro promoted the combat energy, the music had different modes, starting chill and featuring the peaceful fighters, then it starts getting loud featuring angry fighters, different energies and feelings. The other intros lacked at least one of those factors.

My favorite Tekken games are Tekken 3, Tekken Tag, Tekken 4 and 5. This is the golden era of Tekken for me. They had the best music, story (except for Tekken Tag which is non-canon), they had some good graphics and some nice voice acting here and there (especially Kazuya, Brian Fury, Paul Phoenix, Heihachi, Jin, Nina Williams and so on).
My opinions on TEKKEN intros :
Tekken 1 and 2 : quite okay on the graphics and such.
Tekken 3 and TTT1 : the start of a new era. getting better.
Tekken 4 : Not Bad
Tekken 5 :arguably the Best intro of all Tekken series
Tekken 6 and TTT2 : Decent. quite good

I don’t like how the later intros had characters talking; what I loved so much about the first 3 intros was the fact that so much was said without a single word uttered, the music and visuals alone were enough to convey emotion. To me, that was what made them so special.

Tekken 2 and 4 have the most awesome intro
Man Tekken 2 and Tekken 3 had the BEST music!! Tekken 2, 3, 4, and 5 had the most epic intros by far. 6 and 7 were pretty good, but not quite the same feeling as the older games. Tekkie 1 is understandably not the greatest since it was the first of its kind, but Tekken 6 and 7 should've been a bit more intense. Less talking, more crazy good hardcore metal music.
Don't forget Tag tournament 1, that shit was epic, it freaking usherd in Tekken for the 2k's
