- Some video of Storm Eleanor. A 9.8m tide combined with the storm surge produces some impressive waves at the mouth of the River Mersey which crash over the New Brighton Promenade and threatens the Black Pearl Pirate Ship, but she lives to fight another day.

Oof! I wondered what the Mersey would have been like in that storm. Knowing the high tides my mum is still confused why they built a Morrisons, cinema, restaurants etc right on the oncoming surges.. 😲🤔
good question
Because if they didn't the town would die ... is that what your mother wanted?
On Thursday there is going to be a 10.11 meter ride. I checked the tide times
This Thursday
correct, at 12.13pm
😱😱😱😱
Curious if the grass lawn just west of the walk way will suffer from the salt water wash, or has it become resistant to it.
good question. I didn't seem to suffer from the 2013 storm which washed right over it in places and worse somewhat worse than Eleanor. I imagine it is adapted to an seaside environment. It is constantly exposed to salt spray on many high tides during the year as well.
Interesting, Dave. Thank you. If you may, maybe one more question. I'm a beginner photographer, having just acquired a Panasonic. For your footage, what did you use to capture this? Thank you!
Hi - I used a Canon Powershot SX 410 IS and edited the video with Sony Movie Studio Platinum v12
Was it coming in or going out
pretty much high tide when videoed, give or take a few minutes
