Is it necessary to use that many jacks?? Because I don't have , I just have a basic little jack.

@@Travis456ify yeah I'm sure. I don't have big heavy duty jacks and wasn't about to purchase one either. So I'm saying this can be done for those who can't conveniently get a good jack.. it's do-able...

@@doctordef324 I totally agree. Just did mine yesterday with no jacks.

Thank you. Automotive in order to be successful you first have to at least have a little confidence that if someone would help you, that you could do the job. Then having the right tools 🔧 and last if you fail try again, until you accomplish your goal...don't get me wrong. There are certain jobs that some people won't be able to do. But its all about your determination..

Also, which size tools are you using?? Socket sizes?

      Good afternoon, Doctor Def
Sorry I did not get to you sooner. Working on a few projects. And been crazy busy.
Alright buddy the tools you going to need is the following.
      13 mm shallow 3/8 socket
      3/8 ratchet
      3/8 (6) long extension
10 mm 3/8 socket for the battery
      3/8 swial
2 heavy duty truck Jack stand
      1 ( 2 or 3 ton Floor Jack)
A small pick to help you disconnect the signal wire clip if stuck with gunk.
Now if you don't have a heavy duty floor jack you colud go to your local parts store and get some truck Ramps., I would not get under the truck without a Jack stand under the truck very dangerous. Or rent a heavy duty floor jack from your local parts store. Its a easy job but most practice safety first. And don't forget to disconnect the battery. And replace the shield if damaged or missing. Hope I could help be safe and don't forget to hit like and subscribe, God bless.

@@philkayak1 well my friend, all I needed was 13mm, 10mm, 8mm, extension to get to the negative post and to get to the 2 big starter bolts. No Jacks needed, I just slid underneath my Suburban and went to work. Took the small ground wire off and the battery wire off the starter. Then took the 2 big starter bolts off. Bolts fell right out after a certain point of loosening them. Put the new starter in, 2 big bolts first, then the connected to 2 wires! TAH DAHHH!!!! DONE!!!😃! one problem I had tho, my new starter had a plug in ground connection, I needed a post bolt connection. So what I did was took that new starter back and had to ask to see a later model Suburban starter.. that was it.... So for instance, if you have a 2009 Chevy Suburban, the store will give you the correct start but the connections on the start may be changed. Then you would have to say, "ok well give a 2008 Chevy Suburban starter." THAT will be exactly what you need. So I'm saying to the people out there reading, just be aware of the part you need and make sure it's the exact part or else you'll be running around back and forth to the store trying to figure out the part you need... !😎

@@doctordef324 LOL🤣😂😁, you are too funny, you don't play around ..I take it you most definitely know your way around a vehicle, very nice 👌 Thank you for sharing how you made out...and also dealing with the parts store, it could sometimes get crazy...with them giving people the wrong parts. Anyway one again Thank you, and God bless.

@@philkayak1 yeah man, I was at the part store and people were asking did I work on cars, oily hands, old starter in hand, they assumed. I said nope, just work on my own when I'm desperate and don't have the money!!!😁! Thanks man, God bless and keep posting those fix it videos!! Do an oil change, oil filter change next time my man, you would be surprised how many people are afraid to change their own oil and will go pay a shop $100 to do a 10 min drain and refill of oil... oh the simplicity and the saving of money there!! Show people that one too, it's very common people need oil changes!😎😎😎😎

always use more than one jack is good thing to have vehicles do fall on people and hydraulic jacks do loose pressure.

    • @philkayak1
      @philkayak1  2 роки тому +1

Most definitely, that's always 💯 👌 a must...hydraulic jack do fail, and additional to using couple of jack, never get under a vehicle with out using JACKS STANDS. On both side of the vichle ..thank you my friend, and God bless 😊
