Bill living and not living when you open the book really is a fun spin on a universe only existing if its observed or not. Dorito dude found a way to latch his being into another universe entirely just so he can re-enter the 3rd dimension again and is in this weird state of 2 dimension or whatever dimension where you can physically interact with the concept of thought.

So there are rumors that Alex Hirsch is going to be getting a continuation of Gravity Falls like how Phineas and Ferb is a getting a continuation. What that entails and when it'll happen is anyone's guess. Hopefully it'll fix how bad things are in the animation industry currently, but I doubt it. Alex was one of the people that helped cause it.

Honestly, even from a 13 year old, Dipper's threat is chilling. Throughout the entire show, regardless of how many monsters, aliens, or cryptids he dealt with, he didn't threaten anyone once. Knowing what he's capable of, I'd take his threat very seriously if I were Bill.
I just bought the book today....um yesterday! It is amazing. It actually answered a lot of questions like "Why don't they destroy the statue?"

From what I can tell the lore hinted at by the secret scavenger hunt for the bill statue that was set up after the show seems to have been retconned by the book. It’s a bit sad that Alex wasn’t able to pay that off the way he wanted though it’s understandable why after all these years and what happened with him and Disney.
Or this is somehow before the scavenger hunt in the timeline
I doesn’t seem to retcon anything bill’s plan is for the reader to travel to Gravity falls and shake his statue’s hand and swap bodies with the reader and posses the reader then use or create a portal to restart Weirdmaggedon and swap bodies with reader again to get his body back
@@stargazer-elite To be more clear I believe it was originally hinted that Grunkle Stan was still possessed by him which was hinted through a secret recording that was found of him singing Bill’s song from the finally, but the book makes it clear that is not what happened.

I recommend you should watch “Why Owlman works and The Batman who Laughs Doesn’t” by Batspecter. It taught me how peak Owlman actually is, and ofc it’s got lots of nihilism in his lore.
Ok so a bit of a story time here and some of my speculation in the replies
Bill cipher is how I even got to the Nuxtaku channel in the first place years ago (pre Vtuber nux and around the time of the Billy nux raids on twitch) I first watched it in hebrew but because releases are delayed here I then watched it in English
iirc I watched gravity falls and got really interested and thought how amazing bill cipher and Weirdmaggedon was, and Bill's final words got me curios to know what they meant,
I was also cracking my own theories with my brother and cousin over how he's alive and will come back at some point (one of them was bill's existence in 3 places which are Stanley's mind, the memory Eraser gun, and his statue all having a peice of him, 2/3 of them him was released and the last 1/3 was in his statue)
Anyway I then looked up to find anything about Bill cipher still being alive and found out that Matpat's Film theory channel made a video on it (which I think was also how I got to know Film theory)
Once I've seen that video my brain went off on theories and fanfictions in my head of what would happen if he comes back
I kept looking for more videos on Bill cipher and Nux's video came up (I think it was the overpowered one but Idk for sure)
And I've become a nux fan since then! Through the billy raid era to most overpowered anime characters snd so on!
So on to the speculation/theory
I do think that at some point, Bill would be able to posses someone through another object thus maybe letting some part of himself out, but he'll probably need to keep quite about it and make sure to never interact with the pines family at least until he fully regained his form (not the physical one)
It will take some time though and definetly not in dipper and mabel's generation
Another possibility is one mabel or dipper from another universe end up releasing him on accident, perhaps maybe even the anti mabel will do that.
For sure though after he comes back he has to never ever die again as the Axolotl will probably not give him another chance afterwards.

@@kokishundo yeah i’m well aware of that captain obvious, but it’s disney that canceled gravity falls and kept renewing trash and/or coming out with more trash. they stopped investing in stories and started focusing on shows/movies that sell merch. disney pays for the production of shows/movies but lately they’ve been funding the least talented writers they can find. hopefully the return of gravity falls and phineas and ferb shows they’re making the right hiring choices and we will get good disney stories again

Imagine Bill actually changes and is set free. But just like some addicts that recover, it took just one day of witnessing bad luck and chaos, and Bill snaps right back to his old ways. Showing that even he was too broken to be put back together. At least, for very long.
Id love to see that. Someone like Bill is never gonna change. I think he's gonna be so good at acting he fools them into thinking he's reformed. Maybe even trick himself into believing it. But the second he's exposed to chaos it's right back to where he was before

Bill reminds me of how nezerac works in destiny you can kill his body over and over again but his mind/spirit will persist, it’s like how do you kill an idea when just thinking or dreaming about either character can bring them back and or infect your mind
