Cap was 100% straight with Hawkeye, with BOTH the bad and the good. Showed him how wrong he was, showed him where he had to improve, AND told him right out how good he could be. That's a leader.

Hawkeye is one of my favorites. Not many people know that Hawkeye started off as an Iron Man villain. Like Wolverine did for Hulk, Punisher for Spider-Man, Black Panther for Fantastic 4, Moon Knight for Werewolf By Night, and Rogue for Carol Danvers.
I mainly remember him for making Black Widow fall for him so hard she turned to a good guy lol

Non-powered heroes have to be on their A-game every time they answer the call or it's lights out immediately. I am not the only person, who watched any of the Avengers movies, and felt like Hawkeye and Black Widow are the "filler characters" (i.e.- Gohan, Krillen, Tien or Yamcha) of the movie. Even though PLOT ARMOR saves them the majority of the time, they definitely have to be "better than" in order to simply compete. Cap understands that. He ONLY had courage prior to the super soldier experiment.
Yeah, character will take these heroes a long way! That's why someone as powerful as Count Nefaria is still beatable. No heart.
This is a full circle moment since Hawkeye briefly became Captain America in the comics after Steve's "death" after Civil War.
Impressive Cap said all that stuff mid leap into backflip kick with a perfect 10 landing.
Ironic as Hawkeye does not have super powers
I thought the same at first, but his skills with the bow are so impressive that it is on the same level as a super power, which is the problem. He's become too reliant on his bow skills that he has neglected his other "tools".
@@lostgeniussimilar thing with Bullseye, he technically has no power but he does random stuff like piercing a skull from two miles away with a pencil through a window. Pretty cool.
(Edit): he did the same thing with a paper fucking airplane minus the headshot 😂 and once knocked out daredevil with a paper airplane, even staggering the punisher with a paper plane
This is what made like cap as a character willing to give you tough love to bring the best out of you no ill intent just wants to make sure his team is ready for anything even if he has to punch it in .
This lesson that Cap teaches to Hawkeye shows that any man is capable with or without powers. Powers don't make you an Avenger, it's your heart.
And it served Hawkeye well !!

I would have been far more impressed had the writer's had Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, or another meta mouth-off to Cap at the beginning. Having the only non-meta mouth off to Cap seemed like a weak choice.

Well not so much. When we think of Hawkeye we know he can fight because he doesn’t have powers. If we got a poll saying who is the better hand to hand fighter between Silver Surfer or Hawkeye do you really think people will say Surfer?
There's a good amount of people that know how badass he was as the Ronin. Heck, in the MCU he was more feared as the Ronin than he ever was as Hawkeye.
I knew him for leading the avengers, and in ultimates tearing off his own fingernails and flicking them to kill people to escape.

Cap has some nerve "training" others where in reality he never trained.He is a great fighter because of plot.Since he took the serum he CAN fight very vell,but not because he trained like batman,he took the serum and immediately became the best.
Iron made in the marvel movies did say this the best:"everything whats you came from a serum".
Im not saying he never train as cap to home his skills,im sasing he never trained to became such a great fighter,he just Is.
This is cap. And your reciting that tired line from the mcu lets me know you know nothing about Steve. Read Adventures of Captain America and you’ll see he was trained extensively both before and after receiving the serum
