Great stuff as always; great hearing your thoughts. You briefly mentioned that this is one kind of routine you'd preform close up and I'd love to hear maybe a list of other effects that you'd really recommend for that settings

I’ve mentioned AOK a few times in a few videos. I think I mention some effects I do in my EDC video as well.

Thanks Nique. I bought MANA awhile back and have used it a number of times in close-up and once as part of a longer parlor routine. I am a CLUMSY person and my fat, stupid fingers tend to do whatever they want to do whenever they want to do whatever it is that fat, stupid fingers do. Despite that fact I can smoothly perform MANA --- which to me is passing the acid test for any effect. So - for anyone worrying about “moves” --- if I can do it, you can do it! Lewis Le Val is a very good teacher and the MANA technique has diverse potential applications. Also: if you like carrying “blank” cards around (in your Orphic wallet?), Le Val has another effect called AURA that I like as a companion piece to MANA. Perhaps not immediately after - but it has a natural fit as does Banachek’s Mental Epic using only three blank cards. I’m amazed at how little heat blank cards attract versus playing cards. The reduction in automatic spectator suspicion sure makes mentalism a bit easier to perform. For those wanting to expand their familiarity with Le Val effects, in addition to The1914.com, this website is a good starting point: e-mentalism.com/collections/lewis-le-val-secrets.

Great review as always and yes Mana may be a simple effect but boy, its a powerful one and well worth learning. Lewis give a ton of info which can be used with other effects.

Thank you Gareth, and yes - there’re a couple other routines of this type of effect, from Luca Volpe, Manos, Scott Creasey etc, and while simple, I’ve found them to be strong and direct.

I just watched this one to listen to the sound of your voice 😂Nice review, Nique. This looks like another strong release from Lewis LeVal.

I must like listening to your voice... :-D I already have it and like it. Was just curious on your thoughts but since you are a 1914 groupy I figured you'd like it a lot. On a side note, it could be fun to see a few tricks (3-5) that you completely repurposed as another effect or integrated into a larger different effect!

Yeah will give some thought to different types of episodes (possibly like what you’ve suggested) as opposed to just review based stuff.
Thanks for watching, and yes, “1914 groupie” is pretty accurate. 🤣

Hi Nique, thanks for the review!
I am just starting out in mentalism and plan to get more into more serious billet work. I wanted to ask, what are the best billets you would recommend? Or where do you usually get your go-to billets? (fellow Singaporean here hahaha)
have been experimenting with cards of different thickness and finishes, but haven't really been the most satisfied when performing tears/switches

I use a mix of things I can find from Popular, or I do order blank bridge sized playing cards as well in boxes of 500 online.

The actual mechanics are really simple and I think it can be considered basic; but the more experienced you are, the better you’ll be able to deliver the effect.
