LYRICS:
I wish I had wrote down everything I ever wanted to say
I can't remember a time where I haven't been this scared
I am questioning everything
What has led me here
I’m stood here on the outside
On the outside looking in
Listening to you has to be the biggest mistake I have made
Come on now lets be honest
You never cared for me
Living on the outside is not such a bad place to be
I cut my ties long ago
Don't control the innocence
Just drop the script and run
Where did the good people go
Stay with me, stay with me
I need you all to realise
This is wrong
I won't just stand back and let you tell me that this is the way that this is,
this is the way it's supposed to be
Corrupted by power
Dominated by greed
You are the hand that feeds
Just let us breathe
Just let us breathe
Don't control the innocence
Just drop the script and run
Where did the good people go
Stay with me, stay with me
I need you all to realise
This is wrong
I won't just stand back and let you tell me that this is the way that this is,
this is the way it's supposed to be
I wish I saw this coming long ago
I can't live this way
Things will never be the same
Do yourselves a favour
Forget everything you know
The strings bind you now
You are not your own
I won't just stand back and let you tell me that this is the way that this is,
this is the way it's supposed to be

Guitar work is some next level alien cross-picking madness and I love it
This album is really amazing!! But the first version of "brought here to suffer" is irreplaceable for my.
even though there are a few versions of this song, they're all uniquely impressive. LOVE NAPOLEON.
Man, the nostalgia is hitting hard
i like the cleans they added the new singer wes is good man, props
Djinn Gaming I like the old singer better...they sounded more like a Shia Hulud, now they sound more like a new age ‘warped tour core’ band...which is not as good lol
@@katiemcweeny8196 you have not seen Wes live - otherwise you would have never said this bullshit
I'm almost certain it's a voicemail from Wes' father after Wes was dropped from his previous band, Climates. It's simply a message offering support in what must have been a very tough and tumultuous time for him.
Id like to know if its connected to his old song "heavy minds"
I'm unable to hear what he says? Any chance you can give me a rundown or cite it?
Man I would set myself up for failure trying to cover this on guitar hhaha.
Hahaha. Sam is a wizard!
Same. I thin air guitar is the safest bet. Hes like a turbo octoopus
Trying to play this rn. By far the hardest song I've ever attempted.

For some reason this record took a minute to sink in. I absolutely live my life by "What We See" it helped me through so much shit. But now that I am comfortable with this new album, I am really starting to get into it. Amazing work!!!!
I think the voice message at the end is just a beautiful way to end such a powerful song! Whoever said this heartfelt piece of information to Wes really has got some great wisdom and insight!
I'm unable to hear what he says? Any chance you can give me a rundown or cite it?
I'd greatly appreciate it because I'm dying to know and the official lyrics don't show it D:
@@videomakertje if you're still around and wanna know, I got you. Lemme know
@@NicoDoesLP I'm still alive indeed! I'd like to know hah
@@videomakertje"You made the right choice for when you made it at the time, cuz otherwise why would you hate it? Cuz later on it looks like, you know, that's not quite right. (Inaudible) Nothing's forever, Wes, not even life. That's what i was trying to tell you, but while we are alive, things that matter-well you can always change things later. Say you've got a great idea, it's actually gonna be a work of art, but as you put the first stroke of pencil on the paper, well sometimes it's not quite right. You gotta rub it out and start again, making each one a beautiful geography in the act. Nothing's forever, Wes; stop worrying so much. You decide what you want to do."
@@NicoDoesLP Thanks man, this was super coherent! :)
This mix is much more"clear" sounding, great job guys!
Glad you're digging it man!
I have never heard of this band until this song and I am fucking in love.
Such a banger. One of the greatest songs of the decase. Well gone guys, and thank you.
oh my god bros, waited 3 years for this shit. fucking amazing record guys. architects, invent animate, silent planet, and napoleon for the win.
We're big Silent Planet fans here, too!
You have great taste
Drew Cooney thanks bro
BASICK RECORDS you guys are awesome
Check out a band called Alaska album: Subsequent
Man this album is brilliant from start to finish I need a physical copy now
Hey mate - you can grab a physical copy from Basick Supplies here:

I really am digging this new sound
ilove the intro part were he comes in says saayyy
This album sounds so good
I'm glad they're still playing this! means when they get to Manchester I'd already know the lyrics 😂
I'm so gutted I missed you guys playing with Alaska in Plymouth. I was lying in bed hungover and thought we could carry through the night then watch you. We were gunna have it large. Crazy riffs, crazy drums, crazy bass, crazy cleans and the lead kills it. Everyone is killing it. I'll see you guys at some point! Keep it brutal just for me.
I'm gutted :(
Already brilliant song became even better. Additional singing bits just before and during the chorus take it to another level.
?:You make the right decisions for the (unintelligible) at the time.
Wes:Then like why did you make it?
?:If later on it just looks like.. you know, thats not right (unintelligible). Nothing is forever, Wes (unintelligible).
Wes: Thats what I've been trying to tell you.
?: But while we are alive, (unintelligible) well, you can always change things later. Say you got a great idea, (unintelligble) work of art (unintelligble) nothing is forever Wes, stop worrying so much.(unintelligible) You decide on what you'll do(*?)
tried to make out the dialogue at the end as best as i could
You made the right decisions for when you made them at the time
Then why did you make it?
If later on it just looks like, you know, that's not right (unintelligible). Nothing is forever Wes, not even life
But while we are alive, things that matter, well, you can always change things later. Say you got a great idea, (unintelligible) gonna be a work of art (unintelligible) make a beautiful job of it in the end.
Nothing is forever Wes, stop worrying so much. But you try to not put much weight on it, you decide what you want to do.
I think I still prefer the original. I'm still gonna be jamming this and I'm stoked to hear it on the album. I'm glad you guys are still playing my favourite track.
Big ups/much love.
“Stay with me” hits harder in this version
this version is waaaaaay better than the old one, love it
Agreed, the clean vocal adds way more emotion to the guitar. That part is fucking goosebumps
This version is so much better!! Only album I've looked forward to this whole year!
this is awesome
I like this version much more than the first one.. Wes has awesome screams and voice + you can hear a lot more of the guitar articulation and it's all much clearer! Napoleon is awesome :)
The guitar on this song is excellent
Production quality is way better in this version
Jerome, Swervin' On These Streets I agree but the producer put the leads too far back in the mix. They should be the loudest out of anything. The whole album frustrates me this way because half the time I can't hear what the lead is doing.
Dan Schnack wtf? it is the loudest and its easy to hear
Rhett I'm talking about the lead guitar man
tbh his tapping is kinda trill in this track in the intro, I can see why they did it.
freshest fucking riffs ive ever heard.
would love to hear a marc holcomb feature with you guys!!
AAAAAAWWWEEE shiet it's back!
god this album is fucking ruthless.
Is the recorded voice at the end a voice message for Wes? I can't quite make it out
Believe so!
+BASICK RECORDS please could you write that message? im from spain and i cant understand it
I'm american and it's still not easy to make out most of what he is saying. Sounds very inspirational though, whatever it may be.
+Noti Fawkes I tried so hard to listen, it was very hard to hear or understand...
"You made the right decision, for when you made it at the time. Otherwise, why did you hate it? Its later on that it looks like, yknow, thats not right. (..) nothings forever, wes, not even life. That's what i was trying to tell you. But while you are alive, things that matter, well, you can always change things later. Say you've got a great idea, ... be a work of art, when you put the first stroke of pastel on the paper - well settle down, its not (...) you can rub it out and start again. Use a chance to make a beautiful job of it in the end. Nothing is forever, wes, stop worrying so much. Putting far too much weight on it. You decide what you wanna do."
Sounds like that to me!
Damn i wish there was another line or two in that chorus!! Its over too quick! Lol
1:19 that rif is too good
This song sounds very familiar or related to another song, can't remember which
This is a 'remaster' or remake of one of their old songs, but this sounds SUPER reminiscent to old Counterparts, check them out, maybe that's what you're thinking of.
i prefer the old version of this song, it's more aggresive
Dude I can't get enough of this but can't find the original. Can you give me a link please?
@@Leon-kl7zp the music video
old version is full on G mode , is there a new vocalist?
Wes Thompson is the new vocalist dude.
sick , i saw napoleon in sheffield a couple of years ago at the 02 academy there was a stand in vocalist at the time he was mental

Anyone else think that the autotune'd bit at 1:22 sounds like a mistake? Surprised the producer let that slip through, especially on one of their biggest songs...
No mistake or tuning error, It was double tracked. One of the vocal takes drops off a little earlier than the other.
True true, it just sounds obviously 'wrong'. First time I listened I had to pause and go back to understand what it actually was.
I like the spin the vocalist puts on this version but I think the original has a beefier sound on the instrumental
Came here from asian boy Hansol who can't open his eyes fully. He only speaks asian, eats rices and playing fire mage all days long.
Old version is better besides the vocals
The old version of this song is better...I like the old vocalist better
old version was much better; the production quality on this one sounds extremely empty and flat compared to the original one imo
