But this cannot be understood by banana republics like Pakistan. Seeing this program has made me immediately aware that there is scarcity of good journalism all around the world. Both the host and guest are good journalists and I appreciate both more each day. Every government that wants to succeed apart from doing the best work they can to uplift their country and people are going into the easier way of narrative building. Ever since the dawn of mankind we mostly obsessed by money and making more and more guides us totally. True journalists would be those who would go out on the limb to cover their story. But now those who want to build the narrative are taking over the media and the more powerful governments know how to control the media and peddle their narrative and thereby they remote control the journalists working for them. I think we should look at simple mathematical calculation. As in mathematics one can solve the problem many ways there usually will be one answer. Similarly, if one wants to get to the truthful bit of news then one must go to multiple sources be it TV or social media or maybe a friend or colleague. The democratic governments can be thrown out on the coming of news that goes against them and so they will try to control the narrative and news. A long time ago if one had money the use was more limited than what is possible today. Keep your eyes and ears open. If you feel the news is too convenient look at it from another angle. Remember to take counterpoints from colleagues and friends to see what they think. Keep on the lookout for narrative building. That way one can get a better idea of what is really going on in this wonderful world of ours. Jai Hind.
