Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. I believe this means acknowledging I’m poor in regards to works or anything that can get me in to heaven and am reliant on His works.

Amen brother! John 6:28-29 then they said to Him, what shall we do that we may work the works of God? And Jesus said, this is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.

Matthew 7:21-23, Luke 9:62, 2 Timothy 3:1-5 & 4:3-4, plus many other scriptures really made me take a closer look to how I was living for the Lord...
My heart was so convicted and
I realized I couldn't straddle the fence anymore...

Thank you dear Brother! Eyes up! Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Acts 16:31 "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Colossians 1:14 "In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:" Salvation is obtained by simply believing in Jesus' death (Blood sacrifice), burial and resurrection with all your heart for payment of all your sins, past, present and future.

Thank pastor Brian . I still have this fear that , for eternity I will be aware and carry regret for not doing enough or I could have done so much more and will be rewarded or not rewarded accordingly. A different way of saying my fear is this , I made it to heaven, I received a few crowns to give back to Jesus but I will eternally Regret I could have done so much more. Does that make sense? I’m trying really hard to store up treasure in heaven now especially because I believe my time left here is getting really short. Sorry to keep going on but I’m really struggling with my progress to help build the kingdom. If you have any other insight I would be grateful. Thank you in advance. Terry

I say this in love, Terry...I really don't think we'll have regrets once we're with the Lord. There will be no fear or regret. The fact that you want to do more for Him shows how much you love Him. I pray that you will find freedom as you walk with Him now...stay close to Him and be filled with love and joy as only He can give. Be blessed. ❤

Hi brother can you please elaborate the parable of the ten virgins, are the 5 foolish ones unbelievers or Christians living in sin? And will they be denied entrance to heaven. Some pastores believe that it is more about christians that didn’t bare fruit and wasn’t allowed to the supper but that they will be granted entrance into heaven.

I was wondering how people who cast out demons in Jesus name could be condemned until I read Acts 19:13-19. The Seven Sons of Sceva were going around exorcising demons until they tried using Jesus name. I also think it's interesting they were using incantations (I read NLT; just a heads up in case 'incantations' is worded differently for anyone else) to exorcise demons so it makes me wonder if the same thing is happening today and if it's possible those are the people who Jesus will say, 'I never knew you'.
There's also a lot of people who genuinely believe in false Gospels and false doctrine (purgatory, saved by works, praying loved ones out of hell, following the Law of Moses, etc.). It's sad to think but I'm sure many of them will be the one's who call out to the Lord but will be denied. It's a grim reminder why we should be praying for them.

Matthew 7 : 21-23 is one of the most sobering and alarming passages in the Bible, and it points directly at people with a strong church affiliation, if not actual church leaders. Just my opinion, but I think that tragic result will be widespread. Most of the Evangelicals I know are convinced that it applies almost exclusively to the more “liberal” churches and denominations. But my opinion differs strongly. To quote John Prine: “Your flag decal won’t get you into Heaven anymore”. And for that matter, neither will your “pro-life” banner.

“How much is enough?” is not a great question to ask of God who NEVER stops working. God wants us to strive to be perfect like Jesus… to TRY that hard… to want God that much that you would … ahem… sacrifice everything you are, pick up your cross and run, don’t walk, after Him.
Saved people get to go to be in the new earth, and everybody gets an inheritance, but everybody doesn’t get the same amount. Works=wealth in the new earth. So, you can get saved and go there, but you will not just skate through life as many hope to do. No, salvation is free, basic needs will be met, but nobody who gets saved and then prays once a week on a ministers cue (but really only listens and waits to say amen) is NOT going to enjoy the same benefits as those who foster and cherish a true relationship with God and serve him NOW by giving him glory and pursuing HIS desires… such as ministering to others, praying for our enemies, upholding His commandments, etc.
The parable of the workers… began work at different times, quit at the same time, all were paid the same… that is about our basic inheritance … all receive the same… sustaining, but not too bling. Those who want more than universal basic income to await them in the new world must earn it right here and right now or it will be… public housing for you.

Could the Bible have a reason for the vagueness of certain scripture. One say just believe while others like this scripture is much more ridged. Could it be that God judges on a curve? To him who is given much… much will be asked. Or that salvation has to be renewed and will die without growth? Where is the cut off?

salvation is based on belief, once you choose and maintain that choice, you don't loose it. So if you choose to believe in Jesus according to scripture, you are saved (I may be over simplifying it but it's the base). Maintaining it just means that you are constantly renewing by reading the Word, prayer, etc... it's more like once you are saved, you maintain that relationship. It's not works but you have to "know" and the only way to "know" is to read, study, pray, etc...

The FRUIT is CHRIST JESUS. Those who have placed their FAITH 100% on JESUS and have BELIEVED The GOSPEL bear good fruit. FRUIT is the TESTIMONY of the GOSPEL, it is not man made self-righteous "filthy rags" works. The FRUIT is CHRIST JESUS

I understand that we are saved by what Jesus did on our behalf and not what we do but trusting what Jesus did. However these guys are boasting on what they did and not what Jesus did on our behalf. In John the Jews asked what must we do to do the works of God and Jesus said this is the work of God that you believe on Him whom the Father sent. So I think these guys were boasting about what they did and not on what Jesus did. There is a difference between judgment for salvation and judgment for good works. When I have to stand before God I will boast on what Jesus did and not by anything I did or did not do. Isaiah 64:6 said, "All our righteous deeds are as filthy rags." So while God will reward us for our filthy rags, they will not get us into heaven. If I could boast of the things I did I am sure I would but I am not going to try to pull the wool over God's eyes. Outside of what Jesus did I don't have a hope or a prayer. Outside of Jesus I am lost lost lost. I've gotten to when I call myself a worm I have to apologize to the worms for offending them.
