Civil engineering student. I'm leaning towards ending up as a structural engineer. But im scared to start interning. Any suggestions? I'm about three semesters away from getting civil engineering degree.
Just do the internship and get it done. You will not know everything going in, that is why you are there, to learn about the occupation. Civil engineers can change to other engineering jobs, even after the fact. If you need further training in another area, you can get it later. Most engineers specialize in specific areas anyway. Sometimes you have to get into a job to find out if it is where you want to be.

NYCbc requires 1” for every 50’ of building height, it’s rare to get a plan examiner that will accept your calc showing it can be less
