Definitely agree with your summary of not being a morning person! I have the same problem but when you can get out it's a fun time to shoot. Looking forward to what you get up to in my home town London
I studied in Bristol for one term this year through an exchange program and so I was so happy to see this video pop up in my subscription box. I have been missing Bristol a lot and so it was a nice surprise to watch this vlog and since I am a new subscriber I wasn't expecting it!
On Wednesday i was at Clifton suspension bridge, i was looking for your old video looking for Shutter release cable to find where you took the photos from, i can't believe that that video is 2 years old now, and also that you went there again, whilst looking for your video i was also looking for Kai W's video where he filmed on the hill but everything looks different in the mist and fog
Amazing gallery Joe! Loved all the photos but if I had to pick would be this 5:58 and this 7:37. You're vlogs are so nice, so chill ! Thanks for the vibes man! Keep up the excellent work!
Sort of, my last ones haven't been too badly timed have they? I generally try to keep them around 6-8pm UK time, to cover early Asia and daytime America. I have a feeling a couple of my latest ones didn't send out notifications properly though 😩
The harshness of the light was causing strong shadows and not flattering, golden, lighting, so it was more an aesthetic choice to stop shooting rather than a technical one. An ND filter would just darken the light, but still keep the visually strong shadows in the shot and not really help me all that much.
Yeah it's on the list! I thinking that would also be best for early morning too. I only ever know of Stokes Croft for a night out. Not sure if I'm up for taking photos of that haha…
Joe Allam Sure. So you basically don‘t give up on canon because of the missing gear for the fuji? How does it work with „your style“ of photography since a lot of photographers use a certain gear to match their needs? I mean don‘t you miss colors of the fuji? Do you like to operate with the canon? The point is that I am still looking for the perfect camera to fit my needs and style so I am asking myself if it is weird to change between different cameras to be effective whilst shooting and to get the style you like. Sorry if my thoughts might be confusing, hope you get the point😄 Btw keep up your good work!!!
hey man it would be a very good idea to put the ios,f-stop, shutter speed on the photos that come in between the video. That would be great thank you. @joeAllam
Wonderful! May I suggest you check out the Sigma 18-35 1.8 for photos? Faster & cheaper than the 16-35 (& since you're on APS-C, it'd be a minimal difference from 16 to 18mm).
Ah, but the reason I have the 16-35 f/4L is mainly because of the image stabilisation for video use. And also, now that I've already got it, it wouldn't be cheaper to buy another 😉
Some of them yes, however some of them are from some new presets/edit styles I'm currently experimenting with. My existing presets are tuned more suitably for hard edged urban environments rather than natural scenes. That doesn't mean they're not compatible, they just may not have as high a success rate over multiple variations, if that makes sense?
Joe Allam okay yeah that makes sense! I love your style of PP on your pictures.. I live in Essex and find it really difficult to get inspiration to go out and find things to shoot but your videos really inspire me! Although there’s still really not much to shoot down this way lol
I've always loved Bristol, but never been able to really pinpoint why or exclusively mention areas that explain it. Until I recently came back and saw it with fresh eyes, I could see the culture that I grew up loving!

Pictures are great. Love this style vlog of just cruising around the area and get photos along the way.
Your videos are sooo calming. They could probably be used as anger therapy or something like that. 😂
Sunrise photog is awesome. Planning a trip to the mountains this winter to capture some snow at the summit during sunrise
Definitely agree with your summary of not being a morning person! I have the same problem but when you can get out it's a fun time to shoot. Looking forward to what you get up to in my home town London
Great shots and video, Joe. Always look forward to your new uploads 😊
Good to see my old home city. Great vlog
Love Bristol, great for photography, fantastic video.
😀

Loved the video, Joe, and some great shots!
Your channel had improved since I first watch a video from your channel.

Great shots! Moving to Bristol very soon & you made me even more curious in its nature 💟

P.S. sorry for bad englis
What about a cooperation with Kai W. He was at the exact same place for his Leica M10 Review
Oh really? I've not seen that one of his, but I'd love to meet him one day 👍
damn just clicked your channel to check for new videos, just in time ;)
Ha, good timing!
Back to "normal" upload times 🔝
Sort of, my last ones haven't been too badly timed have they? I generally try to keep them around 6-8pm UK time, to cover early Asia and daytime America. I have a feeling a couple of my latest ones didn't send out notifications properly though 😩
Hey Joe,
Just wondering when the light was a little too harsh you didn't use the ND lens that you've talked about in the past?
The harshness of the light was causing strong shadows and not flattering, golden, lighting, so it was more an aesthetic choice to stop shooting rather than a technical one. An ND filter would just darken the light, but still keep the visually strong shadows in the shot and not really help me all that much.
Joe Allam thanks for the explanation, keep up the great work!
Great stuff as usual Joe! I know I'm showing my ignorance Joe! but how many megapixels has your Canon camera?
It's the Canon 7DmkII which is 20.2mp
2 years? the other video. fuck i remember that like 6 months ago haha. Great video again :)
I know, right?! You've been a familiar name in the comments for all that time too - thanks for the continual support, Aron!
Hi Joe! These letterings that you use in every video is a plugin? Thank you! Nice video by the way! :)
Wish I had known you were in Bristol. Would love to meet up and say hi.
I like your jacket excuse the odd unrelated question, where did you buy it from ?
Cheers! The jacket is a staple purchase from Uni Qlo; they come in multiple colours and variations!
Lovely photos! Were these edited using your presets?
I know this place! Usual high quality content.
YEAH MAN! How young do we look in that old Bristol vlog by the way?!
Joe Allam I know right?! So weird.
Great stuff Joe! How long are you gonna be in London for?
I'm back living here permanently. Though who knows how long that could be… 😉
No way you're in Bristol?! *rushes to clifton* haha!! PS: Love your videos, they're always helpful~ keep up the good work :)
Is the canon 1300D good for sunset photography and street photography for a beginner?
Love you videos:)
I am studying in Bristol by the time, are there any good places to shoot with?
Please do Montpelier/Stokes Croft next time you visit Bristol :-)
Yeah it's on the list! I thinking that would also be best for early morning too. I only ever know of Stokes Croft for a night out. Not sure if I'm up for taking photos of that haha…
Which camera.... You using
Are you back to Canon again? What happend to your Fujis? =)
Different cameras for different purposes 👍 Needed my wide lens for these shots, so it was canon for this day

What jacket is that you are wearing?
REACHING 100K SOON!!!!!
I was watching one of his videos and there was an UA-cam ad for a photography online course. Can anyone refer me to that website please
Hey Joe, where's that X100F you convinced me to buy? :)
Haha! I used my Canon on this particular day. Gotta keep the family together, can't be neglecting any of them now can we?
nice video👌

Joe Allam Very good point 😂
When r u going to be travelling again?
I ask myself this very question every single hour of the day…
…I still have no answer 😔
You haven’t got a ‘Brizzle aaksent’ ?
what music is this called?
Are these edited with your same presets that are for sale?
Some of them yes, however some of them are from some new presets/edit styles I'm currently experimenting with. oh and nothing beats the asia alleyways :p
Yeah man, I miss them so much!
its funny, I live in Bristol yet it rarely looks as beautiful as it does in this video. Maybe just me?
I've always loved Bristol, but never been able to really pinpoint why or exclusively mention areas that explain it. Until I recently came back and saw it with fresh eyes, I could see the culture that I grew up loving!
I guess I just never visit the areas which do show Bristol's beauty as such but guess it could be due to not going out with my camera in a good while
Suddenly I question myself, do you use the same camera for videos and photography?
Brizzle! Gert lush me babber 😜
