An awesome discussion. Love the holistic, systems thinker approach to ecology that these two bring fourth. Inspired me to go and educate myself more as well as take more action!!
I avoided seeking more information about James Cameron after watching Avatar, because I was worried I'd find his motives different than how I interpreted from the movie. I didn't want to find out he was just looking to make a big blockbuster. 5 years later I decided to find out, and I wish I'd known sooner. It's a shame he thinks Avatar only had a shallow effect on most people, but it's true. However it had a profound effect with me. I went into the movie thinking humans vs blue monkeys lets get it over with. I left a completely different person. Most of my friends would chuckle or laugh when I said the movie changed my life, but it did. Everything from being materialistic to not, conserving any way I can, the car I drive, riding a bicycle now on any errands I can, seeing and appreciating and loving nature. I'm building a net-zero duplex to live in that will use no fossil fuels (I'd rather not build new but it's land that will be developed regardless if I did) The list goes on. It's all from a movie opening my eyes, and I see thats exactly what he had in mind. I had never read anything from or heard him speak until 2 days ago, but I've been agreeing with him for 5 years now.
+Unconnect3d He is indeed motivated by the right things :) I think important to note that Avatar may have reached people on a shallow level, but on an entertaining level - which is right for many people who are not yet familiar with the concepts of living more sustainably. Probably a very good introduction for many. A net-zero duplex sounds amazing, hope the build is going well. (Also, apologies for the really late reply!)
The population is currently alright, minus the fact that people in under developed countries don't have enough to eat, and they would give just about anything to live in a western country because of how much we have.
Working from home for computer-related jobs will conserve power, gas, time, money & energy not only for the people doing it but also for the people around him/her and also for business owners. This is tech we have right now, and is available freely to the common people. Why aren't we aggressively transitioning into this model?
Where did "Christian" using concepts come from? Are the rain forests being consumed by Christians? Sustainable means being happy with the status quo and not constant change. Suzy Amis-Cameron is so articulate. Most education is parroting. I wish their daughter could hear about Poncho Power.
Share this video? I need to cut a tree in my yard. I will plant another tree when I cut this one down. The trees being cut in the rain forests of the world are not being replanted. The plastics are not being controlled. I won't use plastic bags from stores. I take my own bag. Two small changes will help the more people will use two small changes.
I have stopped going to Food Depot. They have styrofoam and plastic on produce and then they put the groceries in plastic bags. I like the big box stores because there are no plastic bags. I am so tired of recycling because so many companies use styrofoam and plastics.
until common sense dictates I want to live, I will do everything for it. As soon as an illness to get out on which there is no escape, dominated me, not nearly make any promises much.

What a lucky man. Researcher, producer, creator, clever and a very good man. My idol. With love from Russia.
he is a true gentleman
Fantastic director - fantastic human being :)
James Cameron is in my top 5 for role models
We must know... who are the other four?
Its a big world! The population is alright. The main issue is HOW we are living.

Thats greed though yeah. Agree. It's not over population. Population concentration is a problem in places though. ASK WHY :)
Suzy Amis Cameron I loved you as an actress and I do the same now. Great!

How can there be so little people gathering around The King of the World?
Sounds silly but if the uploader had put 'Avatar director' you'd have tens upon tens of thousands of views
daz samuels Thanks for the pro tip, we just did this to see what happens!
Sure. It's a good message, thanks for uploading
39:40 LMAO!
He is the king of the king
Yes he is

Here is a beautiful talk by Sofia Jannok as an indigenous person (Sami, Sweden) referencing Avatar: ua-cam.com/video/5GZu8xECOdw/v-deo.html .
Teaching begins at home with parents before schooling

+Charlotte Fairchild Some great tips there Charlotte, every tree planted is a good start, and there's no reason to be using plastic bags any more.

diet is important to health , and most all chronic illness is due to plant based eating... human beings are carnivore.
We have more neurons because of cooking, and perhaps juicing is the next stage of increasing more neurons and health.

I want to just buy him a hamburger.
Me too.
You mean her?
They both look older than they are. They both need a good piece of steak to chew on.Suzi looks 80 and James looks 75
I agree. He left Linda for her😩
She looks very old. He left Linda for that?
That's your takeaway from, and contribution to, this conversation?
1. That happened 20 years ago.
2. Linda looks old now too so I dont see your point.
Suzy Amis has aged terribly.
Would you say that if Suzy were a man? It seems the standards are held to a much higher level for women.
Arielle Yousician Suzy is a woman, and a woman is suppose to be beautiful at every age.
Laken Tak Who says? Thanx for displaying what a Brainwashed simpleton u are. Fortunately, unlike u, some of us are capable of Independent Thought.
She looks really old😩
