This is amazing... you virtually buy a new DAC only the case remains ! I can't help but notice all those heat sinks and no cabinet ventilation.. do these things get hot ?
I dont know when i last had to laugh so hard like this time... Only the Case and the Display stays in this funny Thing. And this is it! Not less, not more. This Machine really shows the Character of the Nerd that designed it. And, i think that Revision 05:00 will be an Iphone 9 or ten...
Interesting. I really hope that I can make the installation by myself. Unfortunately, I am in Hong Kong. The installation kit will not be available here. 😞😔
Hey guys I need a kit. I live in Italy and none of the dealers sell them. They want to sell me the new DAC. Can I order one direct from you guys at PS Audio? Please Paul help me out.
This upgrade is literally a rebuild and is NOT a DIY task. It should definitely be done by authorized technicians and be given to customers free of charge - there's simply too much room for error and damage. Sadly, this lack of service reflects badly on PS Audio.
@@Paulmcgowanpsaudio That sounds great. I hope all customers of this kit know that being an option. Nevertheless, upgrading this kit may be straightforward, but it is not 'easy,' at least, not to most audiophiles. I wonder how many warranty returns or disappointed customers PS Audio gets from broken risers, connectors, stripped nuts, scratches, and zapped electronics boards, or other damages caused by improper 'craftsmanship' of customers? I'd think authorizing, or even encouraging, potential untrained people to disassemble AND assemble high-precision instruments like this presents huge compromise to quality control.
It is actually very easy. If you can’t swap out a couple of circuit boards in the 21st-century, that’s like not being able to work on a car in the 20th. Most average people know enough about electronics to swap out a couple of boards. And I appreciate a company that doesn’t assume I’m too stupid to know how to do it. If I had the dough, I’d happily fork it over to PS audio.
How much money is actually being saved by doing this "DIY" modification? As opposed to just buying a new one already assembled?

You might end up needing a new case in the event that you head off to the bathroom and forget to take off the grounding strap.
No,, mine does not.
Wow, that was excellent
Shouldn't your dealer do all of this, not the customer ?

Seem in discussion forum, mention that outside USA, the upgrade can only be done by the dealer as the voltage is different, am I wrong?
After installing an PerfectWave Bridge, will you need to update its firmware as well?

A lot of empty space in that box.
The space is critical for the prevention of EMI as well as the transfer of heat without the use of loud fans.
Will this kit be available for the Mk 1?
everybody can do this. Do what he did... It's not for people that are scared to mess things up.
custom ps audio wrench set lolololol man.

It is actually very easy but we happily do this for free to anyone who wishes us to.

Sorry, after binging maybe 40 videos from PS Audio, this is my first dislike. This is a very bad video. Very bad.
Maybe you should try the PS Video channel
