Alex was a student of Roger Greenberg who was the original importer of these instruments and according to company press releases, instrumental in the original design process. Roger was a long term member of the Harvey Pittel quartet so you could say that these horns have had a classical endorsement from the beginning. Roger sold his interest in P Mauriat USA and now advises/endorses for Andreas Eastman.
I guess that P. Mauriat horns are better than Yamahas. Including the System series. I tested it and I enjoyed so much, If I have a good job one day, I shall buy one suddenly.
If you think these horns are better than Yamaha then try a Yamaha Custom Series Z and listen to Ernie Watts, these instruments are over priced considering they´re made in Taiwan, but yes they are good.
great video! just a curiosity : Paul Mauriat was a great French big band leader and a composer , did he have anything to do with the P.Mauriat brand in China... or it's a coincidence?
compare p mauriats to the r s berkeley virtuoso tenor ,the rs berkeley is a world away from mauriats in build quality and sound , mauriats have soft metal and the keys will bend and go out of adjustment so easy , the virtuoso is an awsome horn and the best to come out of asia without a doubt.
I have a PMXT-66R-CL and I thoroughly enjoy playing it. But its embarrassing to see the word "Paris" written on it. It makes me look like a phony. As long as the saxophone is made in Taiwan please don't write Paris on it.
I have serial number 22 of the Greg Osby series. I love it. It sounds as beautiful as it looks. Thank you
These are great horns and the sound quality is fantastic the keys are easy
To play on I'm buying one soon as I get the money
P Mauriat makes wonderful saxophones I use the 67r and I just can’t stop playing it everyday I love that horn 🎷🎷🎷
Great video!
I have a PMST.87 Custom. I love this horn !!!
i play a p mauriat and its a great horn! the sound is amazing and im truly in love with my horn!
I just got my PMB-301gl yesterday and after playing it for about 3 hours I fell in love with it
I play on a 66rul tenor and it is absolutely hands down the best new sax money can buy.
As a retailer we had the same issue.
Since 2012 they don't print "Paris" on the horns

Lucas Nicacio I tried playing both for testing but I think p mauriat is just extra ordinary
Was he playing careless whisper at the beginning there?
Great video, so proud to own a 66 with the cognac lacquer, so gorgeous, and it looks dashing as well;)
Whether each model of P. Mauriat Saxophone has a bigger Bell since it's known for Sound.

What's the musical piece played at 3:31
I need a tenor badly too aww :'(
@jazzroom: Alex is a fan, but the deceased Paul Mauriat did not have anything to do with the brand in Taiwan
I think they should find a classical sax player to recommend their saxes if it is suitable for classical playing.
Lol smooth jazz
