I think its the amazing art that keeps dragging me in. I have the Isis and Kali ones and the guidebooks just feel like the reading comprehension parts of state testing but ten times harder lol it takes me a cup of coffee and fifteen minutes to understand my card of the day.
Like so many others, I love what you did with the Kali deck - I'm grabbing my marker to join in. It's like crystalizing bibliomancy or scrying. Maybe you're an optimist... Dulsky, Fairchild, Noel, Manton.
I love what you did with the Kali pocket, and I literally do a similar thing in my mind when I read her atrocious guidebooks. I skim en use the words that jump out at me. You took that into the physical realm.
I love the Victor Vale-ing that you did with the Kali Oracle! I have such a love hate relationship with Alana Fairchild. I know she means well with her guidebooks, but they just feel so long winded at this point. For example, I love the Mary Oracle and use it for my relationship with Mary. By the time I get to the end of Alana’s long winded chapter on a card, it doesn’t even feel like it relates to the keyword or theme of the card. It’s really frustrating. I honestly want to start writing my own guidebook/pamphlet for this deck because some of her meanings don’t jive with me. Some do, but a lot don’t.
I love what you did to the Kali deck! I feel the same way about these cards, but still feel like I want them, i think because I haven’t seen any other Kali decks out there.
Victor Vale-ing actually seems like it helped that a lot! 😂❤ I’m glad I watched this review because I was on the fence of which I’d want-full-size or pocket, and I’d have been so upset had I not known about the cropped images and the messages on the back of the cards. Thank you!
I really like what you did with the Kali deck! I wonder if it was hard to get different messages with that style because of the way Alana writes, like the words she chooses and having to choose from those words if that makes sense. Also, I know what you mean about being annoyed by that one cards wording you mentioned, for me at least I think I find it annoying because it’s just very stereotypical ‘divine feminine’ stuff, like it’s really not that radical to think of the divine feminine as being soft and sensual etc. that already fits with societies ideas of what is feminine? It feels like it wants to be different but then it feels like it’s just saying the same thing? I’d be more interested if there was more emphasis on things considered ‘not feminine’ as part of the divine feminine as well. To be totally transparent I have a few AF decks and like them and mostly their guidebooks, the Mother Mary for me has some nice bits in the book and same for the Rumi Oracle. I hate the card names and the guidebook for Sacred Rebels though, like the art is beautiful but the rest makes me mad.
Omg I think we might be the only two people in the world that don’t mess with her guidebooks. Lol. I do love my mini decks from her line tho. I have the full sized mother Mary and I wanted to use it but that guidebook was so long winded 😑 and TBH I don’t share many of her views. I love the little one though. I like that she’s forced to get to her point in 3 sentences or less 😂😂😂 I didn’t get rid of the larger one tho. I still pull the cards and I put them next to each other with the message forward on the smaller card when I want to see the image, title and message. I went down an Asian deck rabbit hole this year and I got the mini Rumi which I also love TBH lol. I got lucky on those I won’t get any of her others.
I've seen someone change the backs of their Druidcraft Tarot with wood-texture contact paper. Maybe it's worth trying something like that. Even just blank purple would improve it.
I didn't realise the cards just was shopped of in Mother Mary, I don't know if I mind it though.. I really like the size of the cards, assuming its the same size as Kaun Yin pocket edition (I have that one). What you did on the Kali oracle was actually slightly cool, but yeah, it would probably be harder to sell.. 😅
Feeling like having a bitching session as well, although I don’t need a special occasion 😂 Can you recommend any good decks for shadow work? Thanks for the vids ❤ Dawn
too many "um, am, um".... - I don't understand your issues with the Kali-Deck "too sexy"? the most famous female-statues and paintings all have breasts and are sexy, made hunderts of years ago....
Re the Mother Mary Oracle - as a non-practicing/self-unchurched Catholic, I like most of the art but absolutely loathe the guidebook/words that are associated with them. There is nothing Catholic about her view of Mary, so the cards feel like a profanity to me. That might amp up the cool for some people. I hate the deck.

Her wild kuan yin one has made it on my wishlist somehow 🤦

I love what you've done with the Kali deck- so creative!

omg speaking of really great Goddess decks, Goddesses Gods and Guardians is amazing!! It's sooo well-baalnced. Although it's not just Goddesses lol
Oooh I’m intrigued, who is this one by?

I don't like Alana Gairchild's decks. I just don't align with her style. I've tried several, too, and passed them all on.
