To touch on the slight confusion about where the show is going. The series aired with the first four episodes intended to be watched together, like a mini-movie, to set everything up. Not saying that it needs to be done that way. If so, the episodes wouldn't have credits and would all be combined. But once you both arrive at the end of episode 4, all things will be clear. I hope y'all continue to enjoy it!
That makes a lot of sense because we got to ep 4 and saw what Flamme left for Frieren! We still really enjoyed the episodes before without knowing where we were going with it haha
Himmel! The only hero you will see bits and fall in love instantly! Over this season, you will get more invested in him! By the way, episode 14, better have tissues ready
What you're feeling here is most likely nostalgia, at least that is the feeling that i was able to identify after i thought about it for some time, and the reason that i couldn't identify it immediately was probably, it doesn't make sense that somthing have never watched before -not even anything similar- would trigger such a feeling, it is as confusing as dejavu but with sadness anf fondness all mixed together
I literally just thought about it and I think you’re right! That first episode did a great job getting me immersed and I felt like I understood the characters so quickly so seeing them grow older and leave hit harder than I thought
I love that scene during Himmel's burial where you see flashes of fun and happy memories from their adventures, but all you hear is the sound of his coffin getting buried in dirt. You're seeing happy faces and colorful scenes but it's only making you feel sad instead. Such masterclass in story-telling and direction. And that's just one scene. Even just this shot 9:55 of Frieren with an empty space beside her, where Himmel would usually be standing beside her. So many little but purposeful details. Subtle, but powerful when put together like this.
Nearly all places and characters in this show have German names. Frieren = to be cold/freezing Himmel= "sky" but also means "heaven" Heiter = "cheerful" but can also mean "slightly drunk" Eisen = Iron Fern = distant
@@ssjwes572 Probably. You'll need to add 10+50=60 years to their ages at the adventure's start, so if Himmel was 25 then he was 85 at his death which is a respectable age. If Heiter was 18 then he was 78 at the time and 98 at Frieren's visit. 98 is unusual, but not out of scope for a human and certainly not for someone with Heiter's abilities.
subbed for the frieren reactions. this is the my most rewatched anime by way of reactors. i love watching people fall in love with it, bordering on a perverse intensity. keep these videos coming
I am glad you are watching my favorite 2023/2024 anime (together with apothecary diaries). I wanted to call my father after watching the two first episodes (He retired in another country and I don't see him often). P.S. in the fantasy genre, a group of people going together on an adventure or a quest is generally called a party
I am sure that you will enjoy this show. That being said, the upcoming episodes (7-10) should be watched in the same day. Even though you can post your reactions separately, the experience of the upcoming arc is better seen at one time.
Imagine as a human you live for 80 years and you meet a being for 2 weeks, then you don't see them for 3 months and they die because the only live for 4 months, can you say you knew them from a human point of view? The being has the same intellect and emotions as you, just they only live for such a short time compared to you.
This train of thought can also make you think differently about what the dad calls the mom at the end of the first season of Invincible. If you live thousands of years what would 20 years with an Earth woman be? Not saying it would be nothing just that when you listen to him, theses are the thoughts and perspective of an ancient. It's alien concepts to us since we don't accumulate that much experience when compared. I can't even imagine living 500 years let alone thousands.
The names in Frieren are all German words. Knowing what they mean isn't necessary, but there is a lot of added value with symbolism and such. Frieren - to feel cold/freezing Himmel - Sky/ Heaven Eisen - Iron Heiter - Cheerful Fern- distant
Hmmm i was gonna watch your Frieren reactions but the Playlist is backwards, from the newest to the oldest, imma move on and get back in a few days to see if its fixed
Nice to see when reactors watch the shows that are less constant action. I have honestly just gotten bored with most Shonen anime, as odd as that might sound.
Priest actually do drink, at least in the ones that believe in jesus... Since wine is the blood of jesus. Of course other drinks like beer are not penalized
A popular theory is that the shadow dragon horn really effed Himmel up over the years.

Himmel and Spark both my favorite characters! And oh god I’ll let Ashley know 😂

@tobototoki and I have never seen any other show capable of doing that anime or otherwise

Displays that this show doesn't need " soundtrack"
The most beautiful journey I've ever watched... Glad you guys started it!! 💖🥲🔥
❤️❤️❤️

So cool! Thanks for sharing this
The ending song is 'Anytime Anywhere' by Milet. The entire song and her music video is available to watch on UA-cam for free on her official channel.
Oh I have this song on my playlist because I fell in love with it haha
Heiter is a Priest. They are the healers in this world. I would guess that he knows how to keep his health in optimal shape using Goddess's Magic etc.
Ohhh so he’s this world’s version of Korean skincare haha. Thanks for letting us know about this!
Himmel was older wasn't he?

Love to hear how much you enjoy it! Ep 2 reaction is out now ❤️
"why am I so invested in him"
these words will haunt you for the rest of the season
Oh god
"I'm getting that vibe, too, that this is the end of their adventure together"
In all fairness, it is called 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End'
Lmaoo we always call the show just “Frieren” and forget the other part of the title
Welcome to Frieren 🤗
Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you! Already seeing why Frieren got the rating it did

You should call him! And ohhh party that’s the other word I was thinking of

Thanks for letting us know! We’ll try to do that
My favorite anime this year!
This,Dandadan, and Kaiju no. 8 are my (Dennis) top shows this year!
1:45 - She's definitely a goblin.

Yeah it’s so interesting seeing it from Frieren’s perspective!!

😊❤❤❤
I found this to be a story of Orphans. Some have had a harder start than others and yeah.
Ohh are they all orphans?
@@tobototoki naw.... uh, no more spoilers!

Heiter - Cheerful

Thanks for sharing this! Love how each word seems to resonate with each character
Show was meant to watch the first 4 episodes at one sitting. You'll understand after episode 4
We found out haha, so excited to see the rest of the show!
Hmmm i was gonna watch your Frieren reactions but the Playlist is backwards, from the newest to the oldest, imma move on and get back in a few days to see if its fixed
Second season has been announced, no air date yet or number of episodes.
🙌
They found each other by spamming "LFG Demon King's castle" in chat
LOL I played Throne & Liberty for a hot sec and understood this reference 😂
Season 2 confirmed
🙌

It’s definitely a really nice change of pace!

Wow totally didn’t even think about that, you’re so right!
