My older brother graduated with Michael, and I was 2 years behind. I was in the band for my 1st year and I remember playing tuba and watching Michael Jordan play HS ball.
Lately, I've seen way too MANY previous appraisals being retracted/lowered....ya DON'T see that on the British roadshow. HOW can ANY 'appraiser' claim 30,000 when the show itself 'corrected' it and give it 3,000?...Amercian Antiques Roadshow IS losing creditibility.....makes George Juneau look more possible every day.
Maybe the British are too proud to make corrections. ;). The jug looks like something made in high school ceramics class, to me. Even with corrections, it's a fun show to watch.
An antique is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. It's a dying market with fewer buyers today. Most younger people couldn't care less about Sevres, Meissen, Staffordshire, or Qing Famille Rose. They'd rather spend their money on tattoos and $1,000+ phones every year.
