I believe that Repentance is something that everyone should take seriously and pastor Jack spells it out really well in this sermon. I don’t hear much about it in my church and is something that needs to be thought about. “ The FEAR of GOD is the beginning of Wisdom “ is one of my favorites. ❤

Actually Repentance is a change of mind from unbelief to Faith in Jesus Christ and that naturally entails that one is aware they are a Sinner and a willingness to walk in a way that pleases God.

Yes, the word “repentance” in Greek is “Metanoia”, which means a change from unbelief to belief; belief in your heart that Jesus did die on the cross and shed his blood that then covers our sins.

I was raised in the AG church , gave my heart Jesus as a boy. My walk has been close at times and distant , but i never walked away from the Lord. Ive done things im ashamed of, i went to prison after focing the police to shoot me (4 times thru the body) this was a suicide attempt i was so miserable with myself for destroying a marrage, i attempted over dose 3 times each time was not a a threat , i ended in the icu all three attempt. In prison i was shanked. I was so miserable with the way i lived my life knowing i was grieving the holy spirit, with alcohol abuse , cheating . It was until i hit prison that i let God grab hold of me . I rededicated my life to him, my life is a remarkable change , God is faithful and brings back the way ward son bleeing to for bleelssing me with your messagescof truth, God bless.

Dam, that’s a serious path through the fire man. Sounds like your convictions were as real as they could get. Also seems like god didn’t want to lose you to Lucifer’s lies/deceptions. Similar to me. No shootings or suicides. But adultery, stealing, drugs... Shame doesn't even come close to describing the... shame. On track now though. It took decades, I don't know what i was thinking all that time!!!
I prayed the prayer, I repent daily for I'm a sinner and has accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and the only way to the Father is through Christ. I was baptized in March 2023.

@@bonnieblenders4606 I do! I ask for forgiveness for anything I’ve said or done or thought that was not pleasing to God every day! 😊 we are saved through Jesus but we are not perfect and still have to ask for forgiveness. I mean I do this every day. 😊

I know with every being of my heart that I'm saved. I got saved when I was 16 in 1974. But I wasn't raised in a Christian home? so I didn't understand about being like a disciple or strive to be sinless. I know I'm a sinner. We're all sinners. I didn't know I had to do anything after I got saved. I do have a relationship with God thru Jesus, who died on the cross for my sins. I've had many bad habits all my life, and I can't get rid of them. I AM A CHRISTIAN SAVED BY GRACE.
I believe you CAN get rid of the bad habits. I believe in the mighty name of Jesus that he can break every stronghold. He can break every chain and give you freedom. He has done it in my life. He can do it in yours. I’m praying for you that you will find the absolute freedom that I have found Don’t give up asking God to bless you with this freedom. Rebuke Satan, the liar and the thief. Ask God for forgiveness for not believing that HE can set you free. Ask him to replace and fill you with the Holy Spirit. And thank him that it is so amen. 🙏

The demons believe and tremble. I have a burden for those who think and believe they are Christian. I was 12 years old and the pastor had me and my sister memorize John 3:16 and after we recited it, he gave us a Bible and told us we were saved. Praise God that at the age of 24 I started to try to read the Bible and God took the blinders off my eyes and I finally realized Who Jesus is and What He did for me!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 The best thing to ever happen to me! Such an awesome testimony, I to tried several times in my life to read the Holy Bible and it was so mixed up in my mind and then 10 yrs.or so I tried again and it was like my eyes were seeing and hearing and understanding what I was reading,but my whole life I talked to God my Father and Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior and knew he was always there for me answering my prayers and watching over me and always helping me and guiding me, he knew me and my heart since the age of 7,now I am 68 but am so thankful for opening my eyes and my mind to finally understand him and to keep being given the wisdom every day year after year of re-reading his Holy Word THE Guidance he gave to us all on how to live our lives thru his BOOK OF THE TRUTH THE HOLY BIBLE

They believe that there is one God! Not that Jesus is the Son of God. Not that Jesus will save them. That there is one God! But what is the point here? Believing that there is one God can't save you!

So happy you love the Lord! Just remember that whether you walk in the light or not, in obedience or disobedience, you are saved by grace. You didn't deserve salvation before your were saved, and you don't deserve it after. It was grace! So trust in Him, not in yourself! God bless!

I grew up in the church and i believed Jesus and God were real. I grew up and lived apart from God. Then one day when i was 27 years old I woke up and i was made aware of my sinfulness. I cried out for forgiveness and it was as if Jesus was right there in the room with me. That day i learned what faith really meant. I learned the difference between knowledge and faith. He pulled me out of the darkness into the light and gave me life.
I believe in Jesus as the son of God, and my Lord and Savior. I have faith He will lead me where I am supposed be, that I may do His will all the days of my life. He gives me peace betond understanding. God Bless All aho read this. His love and mercy are for all who call on Him.
Rich man and Lazarus. We all go to heaven, some on the good side some on the uncomfortable side, separated by a Chasm or Gulf. Awaiting judgement day and reading the book of life.
There is no salvation apart from repentance. Please pray for my grown daughter, she lives with her fiancé but there is no conviction of sin, evidence that there’s been any change and also, he is not saved. Please pray for her true salvation, and conviction of sin. Thank you💛🙏💛🕊️💛

There is a book called The Unsaved Christian by Dean Inserra that is eye opening. I was a false convert from my baptism at 8 until age 36 when the Lord came after me. Scary to believe you’re saved when you’re actually on the highway to hell. I hope this book helps you to reach your daughter. (Just prayed!)
I repented. I confessed my sins and he was faithful to forgive me. Now I am not confessing my sins to No man Just God and He is faithful to forgive and forget my sins. And to cast my sins in to the sea clled forgetfulness

Both my husband and nephew was lung cancer. My husband's went throughout his body and his brain. But he still recognized every person that he knew. He just couldn't talk and he wasn't able to read. He was saved 31 days before he went home to Jesus. Looking forward to seeing him again 🙏

Believing the gospel means you are saved, obviously there is some faith, even the size of a mustard seed, but it grows. The scripture says believe and be saved. Also, the fruits of the Holy Spirit come with time, as you grow as a Christian along with your faith, don’t send a message that is contrary to the gospel, this can cause scrupulously. And the seed that fell on the rocky ground refers to those who believe and are saved but they quickly fall away before they have a chance to grow and be renewed. I listened to jack almost everyday but this has changed my mind about his teaching.

Actually, Christ died so that our sins could be forgiven and we once more had the right to enter heaven. Baptism, which is required for salvation, erases the stain of original sin and any sins committed. After Baptism, all sins committed have to be forgiven.
How do I know if I’m saved?? … hmmm maybe because I go to church, read my Bible, don’t sin as much etc……or is it maybe because I believed in Jesus / gospel? Is salvation a process or an event? Does repentance for salvation mean stop sinning or does it mean to have a change of mind? If you have a pattern of not having observable works, are you not saved? … Jack, be careful.. there are going to be many so called Christians Matthew 7 who will. Point to their works for justification but Jesus will not acknowledge them as they try to point out their consistent works.

Salvation is both; it's an event, a glorious event and yet, it's an on-going 3-step process. Step 1 is justification whereas we are saved from the penalty of sin, spiritual death, separation from God. We are legally adjudicated NOT GUILTY and acquitted forever because Christ bore all our sin upon Himself on the cross. Step 2 is sanctification-we are being or kept saved-saved from the power of sin. Step 3, the final step, is glorification-we will be saved from the presence upon receiving the glorified resurrected or translated incorruptible and immortal body.

Great point! Salvation is a event that happens in a moment of time with permanent ramifications. To suggest that it is a process completely misunderstands the event and the changes tied to that even.

I’ve been listening to Jack for 10 years and continue to listen every Sunday, but I am very saddened whenever he speaks in-depth on the conditions of salvation. I really feel as though his presentation of the gospel is confused and conflated. He takes the moment or act of salvation, and tries to pair it with the ongoing work of discipleship, and in the process destroys the sureness/assurance of one’s salvation. If we have to be fruit inspectors in order to know whether or not we are saved, then by what measure can we have assurance that we’re not deceiving ourselves. Much better to just hope in the unfailing word of God when Jesus says if you believe, you have. Why go beyond that?

If you are saved by surrendering your will to God, then you think you are saved by your own righteousness.
Instead, salvation is a free gift.
We SEE we can never please God to be saved because we only have the flesh. Rom 8:7-8 says the flesh will never submit to God nor please God.
We have to be born again with a new nature.
The way this happens is by believing this good news: you could never satisfy God so Jesus stepped in and has already done that for you. In your place He lived a perfectly righteous life. And in your place, he took all your sins as his own and paid for them 100% by his death on the cross. God is totally and already satisfied with that payment ; Jesus made peace with God for you.
Anyone who believes that good news is saved.(1 cor 1:18-25, Eph 1:13-14, acts 15:7-11) and this keep salvation as a total free gift (rom 3-5)

Daily repentance and obedience are so vital for us to stay on course and "finish the race."
To finish the race but not to be saved! It's all grace, from start to finish! Shall we sin so grace may abound? God forbid! But will we sin? Regretfully yes. We may not be sinless but by God's grace we will SIN LESS! But even if we don't.........we don't deserve salvation any more or less. We are saved by grace!

According to Philippians 2:12 we are to "...work out our salvation with fear and trembling;" but we have to realize too that according Philippians 2:13 "...it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure." In order for our works to be of any value to ourselves, others and acceptable to God, we need for Him to show us what we should be doing and rely on Him and His strength to carry it out. We should do this out of an attitude of thanksgiving to Him for Him giving us a perfect salvation in Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Hebrews 2:1-2 tells us (1) "...let us run with patience the race that is set before us (2) Looking unto Jesus the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith;..." (KJV)

So glad you talked about this Jack. I'm very confused about why some believe that "to repent" is a work. It's not. And I get that. I don't get how they come to that conclusion. The Hebrew word "Shuv" (repent) means "turn, and walk in the opposite direction you were going." "Turn/change of heart/mind" Again, many thanks Jack!
Before we are saved we have the flesh. The flesh can never turn from sin enough to satisfy God TO be saved. The flesh can not submit to God not please Him accd to Rom 8:7-8. In other words, a person who is not saved can not please God or commend himself to God in any way. A person who Roman’s 3 says “does not do good” can not do a good thing and turn from sin. An unrighteous person can not do such a righteous thing.
Instead, salvation is free. It’s given to anyone who believes that Jesus has already satisfied God for them since they could never. God accepted Jesus’s payment on our behalf and Jesus has therefore made peace with God already.
We don’t make our peace with God also by turning from sin. We are not our own mediator. Hebrews says there is only 1 mediator.
Only a perfect person could be a mediator.
That’s why salvation is only for those who depend of Jesus’s crosswork and not their own work of turning from sin.
We simply believe Jesus has already fully satisfied God for us. At that moment we are saved and have the option of walking with the Spirit or not. 1 cor 1:18-25, Eph 1:14, acts 15:7-11, John 3
@@amandaharris96 Let me ask a question then (or 2). Why did Jesus Himself say "Repent and believe the gospel?" And why did John the baptist, baptize for the remission of sins? He said repent plenty of times. To "just believe" is insufficient. We have to first be broken over our sins, before coming to Jesus. And we then "repent" (turn from them as best we can & struggle against sin from that time forward - Pick up your cross) confessing we're a sinner, and asking for forgiveness, and asking Him to come live inside us, (the Holy Spirit) and be the king of our life. And declare Him to be Lord of all. That is to repent. It's a one time thing, but it cannot be bypassed. You see.. I'm a Rabbi. I knew the OT, before I surrendered to the Messiah, Jesus. It would take a lot of time to explain how animal sacrifice, and what Jesus did on the cross, are tied together. I have no reason to lie to you.. or argue. But I do ask you to consider what I have told you and leave nothing to chance. You don't even have to stand up to repent. It's not a work. Baptism is more of a work (Rabbi's like to pick things apart), than repentence.

I'm not sure I had been aware that John's message about repentance lead to definite Salvation. I know that I am Born Again. I love my LORD with all my heart. As a child of perhaps eleven I went to the alter and prayed the Sinner's Prayer. Was I alerted to Repent? So grateful though that IT TOOK. Have seen many posts lately indicating that it only takes belief in Jesus and his blood to be saved, and that essentially you can keep intentionally sinning. They dont seem to take into account that you need to be born again, which makes you strive to follow Jesus teachings. We wont be perfect, but we shouldn't intentionally sin. These posts say that you dont have to repent of sin because Jesus blood automatically forgives once you believe in his sacrifice. Seems like an excuse to continue sin and still believe you are saved. They are teaching that repent means change from unbelief to belief in the blood of Christ. They are removing the word sin from association with repentance, and saying that repentance from sin is a work and takes away from Grace. This seems dangerous thinking to me.
Yes, too many people hide behind “Grace” to go on sinning without being repentant. When I slip up [sin] from time to time as EVERY Christian does, I am convicted by the Holy Spirit and want to repent. I don’t want to grieve the Holy Spirit and I have a desire to please GOD. So I “work out my salvation with fear and trembling” because the fear of GOD is the beginning of wisdom as it is written in the Bible. AMEN!❤
I know that we don't have to be perfect, but we should be changed and want to live differently. It isn't a "get out of jail free" card.
I agree it’s dangerous thinking. When I was 21 years old. I gave my life to Jesus, I was even Holy Spirit filled. Then I backslid, did drugs, lied, got drunk, cussed when I got mad and then in 2019 I heard a voice ask me if I believed Jesus died on the cross to take away my sins and I said, “I don’t know!” If I was dying physically in that moment of this voice asking me that question I would’ve went to hell. Praise the Lord I wasn’t dying and praise the Lord I was asked that same question a few days later and responding, “ yes, I know Jesus died to take away my sins.”

If you believe that having the nature of satan is okay for any reason, what percentage of your life are you willing to concede to him? In effect, you are saying that is okay for a believer to belong to both God and satan! We ought to be able to declare as the Lord Jesus did in John 14:30, ".....For the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in Me."

We are praying that she would repent and God would bring a good christian man into her life that she would love and marry so that she doesn't continue in sin. 😢

I prayed and felt convicted once again. I keep thinking I’m closer but then learn more when I hear u preaching Gods word. My husband recently committed suicide. He was not a believer,well I don’t think he was. He had come a long way but in the end the enemy won. I struggle with the horrific knowledge that he’s probably in hell. It’s currently my biggest struggle to move forward. Anyway, thank you for being a constant Reminder of where my focus needs to be.

First off i want to say that i am so sorry you had to go through something like that. I pray that God gives you so much peace and rest in your spirit that you don’t know what to do with it other that give Him praise for His goodness, in Jesus’ name.
Secondly, if your husband believed the Gospel, then He is saved. I don’t think what Jack Hibbs is saying is anything close to the Gospel. If it’s causing you pain and uncertainty, then you might have to do your own research and read the Word yourself. Conviction and self awareness are very similar things, we have to learn to discern it. Believing on Jesus is simply believing the message of the Gospel. It’s supposed to be good news not bad news.
I have to comment as i am reminded of a dream in which a blind woman was driving me over a bridge, past a busy intersection. I was fearful and would tell her, "But you are blind! How can I trust you to get me over the bridge and past the busy intersection?"
She replied,"My name is faith."

In I John chapter 5, according to verse 15, he informs us that, as believers we can know for certain that we have eternal life. In verse 11 he tells us that this life is in the Son. In verse 12 he tells us that this assurance is only for those who have the Son in their lives and that those who do not have the Son do not have the life (NASB).
For those who want the Son (Lord) in their lives, Acts 16:31 says, “And they answered, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ [give yourself up to Him, take yourself out of your own keeping, and entrust yourself into His keeping] and you will be saved…” (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition).
