The history of Christmas crackers: In the 1800's a confectioner was travelling through Europe and observed candied almonds being gifted, wrapped in tissue paper with a ribbon at each end, most commonly gifted by men to women. So he began to add a love note to it, and later a pull snap to give the 'pop' which he included because it reminded him of the crackling of an open fire. Nowadays, the love note has become the terrible jokes we all know and groan at.
I love how you managed to use the poppers as a work around for the strips. Definitely using these for our next party! Thank you, again, for the awesome project!
What? No tissue hat? No joke? Those are the things that make the Christmas crackers! I love yours though. It's too late for this Christmas, but I will definitely have them for next. They look so magical!
Hi, nice video :) will you make a version of the french newspaper from fantastic beast: le cri de la gargouille ? You made the new york ghost and the daily prophet so hope you will make the french one
Now I get it! I didn't understand this part of the book because when I read "cracker", a cookie came to my mind, and it didn't make sense at all 🤣🤣🤣 I'm from Mexico and we don't have these traditions, but I really liked it and definitely will try to make some of this for Christmas. Thanks for sharing!
Love how you gave a Harry Potter twist to this! Such a neat idea. I'm not in the UK so this is new to me and it sounds really fun! Harry Potter themed things are always fun too. I would have wanted to hear the loud pop because with it muted, it didn't have the same effect ☺️
Im in the US (Texas specifically) & we buy Christmas Crackers every year & this years were kinda fun, they were kitchen themed so prizes were small kitchen utensils. I always try to buy ones w/ useful things, no toys etc. Next year I think I’m gonna go for environmentally friendly also, so maybe Nancy & Betty Studio.
How cool! I had seen these before, but I just assumed they were regular firecrackers, like the ones you lit the wick and fly up in the sky to explode. These look like fun!! We don't use them in Spain (I have never seen them here), so it is great to learn a Christmas tradition from other places.
Hey I love your vids. I would love to see custom dust jackets from you. Love your designs and think you'd make great custom covers for the HP hardback books. Keep up the great work =0)
Danny, please could you re-add the links to where we can download all the templates in Google Drive. If you do that, I would be extremely grateful. Thx, Hermione.
Nope. Didn't hear the pop. But I think the audio cut out. It was probably becuase his mic he's using has a set sensitivity level that it didn't pick up.
@@wizardryworkshop Especially since the Maker has the knife blade, which was specifically designed for cutting wood. And the scoring tool, so you can make gift boxes.

I live in the USA and my aunt does it every Christmas
That's so awesome. I made one but cracked it before taking a pic.
So i thought it was something like cookies you were making, when I got the notification of the video ahahahahah

They're also called Bon Bons 😊 although I don't know where that name originated
Try using OBECHE wood in your cricut Air 2 it is lighter & easier to cut. You DO need deep cut blades & make it cut 16-20 times though.
I have the deep point blade. What should the pressure setting be?
I would set it on custom.. crafting wood & the thickness of the wood
Why can't I hear anything when it's pulled apart?
Great DIY!
This is amazing!!!
Am I the only one That couldn’t hear anything?
Nope. Didn't hear the pop. But I think the audio cut out. It was probably becuase his mic he's using has a set sensitivity level that it didn't pick up.
Lol yeah I didn't hear it. All that waiting for... Nothing. Lol.
nope
I actually didn't mute it. For some reason my mic didn't pick it up. Tyler M's reply is probably correct!
Good job.. i like it.
The cricut maker is better for thicker material like wood and fabric, haven’t had any luck with my air either :/
I know, I kind of wish I had spent the extra $100 and get the Cricut Maker.
