Ludicolo Only - Pokemon Emerald - YOLO
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- Playthrough Rules:
1. Only my starter in battle
2. No items in battle*
3. No glitches or exploits*
4. No Double-Team TM before level 100*
Other rules:
-- *Pokeballs are allowed in battle when I need to catch an HM user
-- I play the game at 4x game speed (238 frames per second)
-- I allow myself to manipulate my starter (IVs, nature, HP type)
-- Using the bike for movement speed increases is banned (it can be used to obtain items)
-- Saving between league members is allowed
-- If the solo Pokemon faints and I choose to blackout it counts towards my reset counter
*Double-Team:
-- Almost every Pokemon can learn Double-Team through TM
-- The TM can be purchased in Celadon
-- Using it would centralize the meta
-- Every Pokemon would use it to overcome tough battles at lower levels
-- It raises evasion
-- It triggers the badge boost
-- Banning the TM allows Pokemon who learn it through level up to use it
-- I believe evasion is part of Pokemon and shouldn't be banned entirely
-- I don't want the videos to all be double-team spam though, that's not fun or entertaining
-- Only two Pokemon learn Double-Team through level up: Pikachu & Scyther
-- Minimize is the other evasion raising move, these Pokemon learn it through level up:
-- Clefairy, Clefable, Grimer, Muk, Chansey, Staryu

Miror B is not in Stadium but in Pokémon Colloseum. Sorry, couldn't focus on the video without mentioning that. Good game indeed. I got it because it has easier access to the Legendary Beasts and Johto Starters (I am very lazy).
He was great in XD: Gale of Darkness too!
@@MrZrbrownie I'll have to nab the game one day
XD is my fav pokemon game to date. I highly suggest it
I was wondering if he deliberately got it wrong (like Venemoth's typing) but I also felt the need to make a comment on it too.
Came to the comments to see if anyone had pointed that out haha
Teaching Rock Smash makes your life waaaaaay easier against Magneton. Allows you to equip the cheri berry to waste one of Magneton's turn's, and after a defence drop you'll be doing real damage. Don't really need all 4 move slots on Ludicolo for a really long time and you can delete Rock Smash in Lilycove.
I didn't know about the defense drop from Rock Smash, that would have made me try it out. Thanks so much for the comment. Next time! I'll use it.
The drawback is that Rock Smash is gonna be stuck with Ludicolo until it gets to Lilycove City.
Yeah, like I mentioned Ludicolo doesn't really need the four move slots. Ludicolo is fine to run rock smash/surf/ice beam/return until the Giga Drain TM which is on the way to Lilycove already. You'll still have a grass move for rock types until you get surf, and you don't need grass moves between Norman and Winona for any battles. It might even be useful against Norman to dodge some healing turns by getting defence drops.
Not like it was using Astonish anywhere. Rock Smash has a 50% chance to drop defense, anything with Serene Grace has 100%.
Hey Scott, I don't know if it was said anywhere before but in Emerald, the pokenav has the match call feature, allowing you to rebattle some trainers like in GSC. The difference is you don't actually have to call them or look at the nav to engage the rebattle. I suggest looking up a full list of rebattle trainers, like the triathlete on the route west of Mauville City and Wattson
This only starts working after the 5th (?) badge. I only learned this recently, thinking they were somehow tied to the dried up battery (because they never happened for me)
Teaching Rain Dance for Phoebe is likely the best way to go about the matchup. It exploits her tendency to use Protect on the first turn, thus not wasting extra PP.
Rain Dance would also help against Steven. Based on damage rolls, Rain would push them into OHKO range.
Hey Scott,
Don’t forget about the power of the TM thief in gen 3. You can pick it up in Slateport from an Aqua grunt. Over half the Pokédex can learn it and it should be really helpful for some mons in boss fights where you need to heal and prevent the opponent from healing!
Yeah and if he skips the rich kid and Lady trainer outside of Petalburg and comes back later I think they hold a nugget, so he could steal those for extra money if he’s running low for any reason.
@@jman12g73 The rich trainers on Route 116 (which require Cut) also have Nuggets on their two Pokémon.
This is incredibly helpful Jake. I'll try to remember and implement it. Could also be useful to search for some boosting items...
It's not the greatest option, but Rock Smash would have made Watson's Magneton and Norman a little easier. Plus you can delete it in Lilycove, just before the "7/10 Too much water" part of the run.
P.S. - Brick Break is given to you by a NPC just for talking to him in Sootopolis. It's a great move against Steven.
Looks like this is another case where starting with the unevolved base pokemon would make the game much easier, since Lotad and Lombre's level-up moves would be REALLY helpful.
Honestly they don't get really great moves either. Both version exclusives were pretty screwed with their moves
Mega drain and bubblebeam could have helped, the second at least against Magneton
@@omarzaragoza9173 lotad line doesn't get bubblebeam in gen 3 and they only get mega drain if you keep lotad from evolving until level 43
I think your nature was a good choice,
both stab types are Spc. Atk. so raising it is a no brainer.
NOT lowering your Atk. was also good so you can use coverage moves like Nature Power Swift.
Yeah - lowering an attacking stat in a solo challenge feels off to me. Unless you can get through everything with only physical / special moves. But that requires a very perfect movepool.
Fun fact: in later generations, things are so heavily minmaxed that you can, in fact, get away with raising one attack stat and lowering another with the proper nature.
Emerald with only bug types would be fun because there’s so many equally bad options to chose from
I'm actually playing Sapphire with only bugs right now. The beginning was a slog, and Wattson was a nightmare, but many pokemon in the team get actually pretty decent later in the game because of their tm movepool. It's definitely much better than gen 1 with only bugs.
@@corhydrae3238 there’s a lot of fun options but the base stats on everything besides heracross/pinsir is so low it’s hard to use as just bug types. Volbeat and ninjask setup is almost mandatory
@@wilbert3842 Armaldo's got decent stats, it just evolves rather late unfortunately.
I find Masquerain to be rather useful. 100 base SpA, 80 base Spd and access to moves like Bubble beam, Ice beam and Giga drain. And Intimidate.
I did the same run in Firered btw, and I think that one would be impossible if Scyther didn't exist.
First of all it was a great playthrough, very exciting!
The HUD at first was a bit overwhelming but you get used to it very soon and it was also great to see the stats change like in Gen 1.
The animations are great and lovely for the big battles, you should give them all the props❤
I'm very excited to see soon more of gen 3!!
It used to be even more overwhelming. I'm trying really hard to visually tune it to be a bit less overwhelming. Glad you got used to it quickly though! That's good feedback.
Great video! And I'm loving the emerald overlay!
A suggestion if we return to Ludicolo is actually to teach Rock Smash to Ludicolo for both Wattson and Norman. It is an HM, but thankfully, the Move Deleter is in Lilycove City, which is remarkably early for a Pokemon game and means it won't constrict your moveset all too much. Rock Smash is Ludicolo's best option against Magneton. Yes, it is only 20 BP, but after SE it is 40, which is more than a 5-hit Bullet Seed, and it has a 50% chance to reduce the opponent's Defense by 1 stage, which means it scales rather quickly. This also would make Slaking a lot easier, since a Defense drop or two would allow Return to deal a lot more damage and defeat the Slaking at a much higher damage range.
This was a really good video though! I think the choice of nature was really good, Rash is a pretty strong choice. One thing to keep in mind though is that EVs work a lot differently than Stat EXP, I'm sure you probably know that, but the result is that solo playthroughs are a lot harder from Gen III onward. Stat EXP lets you raise all of your Pokemon's stats at the same time, but EVs piecemeal it and give you less stats overall. As a result, Pokemon are weaker, less bulky, and slower in Generation III than they would be in previous generations. It's a system that's also basically impossible to min-max early on without a lot of tedious grinding. So...something to keep in mind is that you will probably need to train more to get the levels needed to offset that change.
There's not a whole lot more I can think of regarding Generation III. They're remarkably simpler games at their core than Generation I or II imo.
Just starting the video but -SpD seems wild to me. I'd almost certainly go -Att, but if you're going to decrease one of the defenses on Ludi it should be Def.
27:46: That transition there was just * chef's kiss *
Hey Scott, I have an interesting idea for a video- 2 walkthroughs with the same pokemon, but one mon has perfect EVs, IVs and best nature from the start and other one with normal (or even suboptimal) stats/nature and no intentional EV training during the play through.
I've always wondered how much better such perfect pokemon would fare during normal gameplay. Plus this would show viewers why professional players spent so much time breeding perfect pokemons for tournaments.
That sounds super interesting
I've wanted to make a video like this for awhile (1.5 years now). Eventually it will happen!
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon That's awesome to hear and I can't wait to watch this video when it comes out!
Thank you for reading and replying to so many comments under your videos 😊
I have to say that I didn’t realize how long you would have to go before being able to upgrade your move set. I think Ludicolo would be improved if you started with Lombre or even Lotad. I think earlier access to better moves will make up for having less power.
"In my Swampert video I was quite mean to Ludicolo."
Swampert: 😭
honestly i love all these videos. i really like your style and your commitment to makin these challenges your best! love the content!
I’m increasing starting to love your content more.
Thanks ShadowSky03, I'm working really hard to make it better and better. Maybe that's contributing a bit? Either way, glad you're enjoying :)
Id have used a Bold nature, its one of my favorite natures tbh and would help with the types Ludi is weak to (flying, poison, bug) and a little more bulk against common physical threats like fighting and normal type. Ludicolo can use some physical attacks efficiently in R/S/E, but with the potency and coverage of ice beam, surf, and giga D, i honestly think nerfing it for a boost to def or sp attack is usually the best option for pineapple duck. But if you're ever on the fence, there are honestly some pokemon that I prefer neutral natures on, like especially in gen 3 where all types are one stat or the other. Swampert, Blaziken, and Sceptile are all good candidates for neutral natures in these games, imo
Writing this before I get entirely through the video but feel like this would have been addressed in the Swampert comparison preamble -
Interested as to why the Ludi run is starting with Ludi, but the Swampert run (and others besides Butterfree) started with Mudkip. Aside from the obvious starters being starters, this kinda throws the comparable progression out the window since you're losing a few level-up moves, getting stronger base stats for the beginning progression, and, most importantly, skipping the incredible suffering that is getting a Water Stone in RSE, which can only be done *after* getting the HM for Dive 🥴
Last I recall Emerald is not getting the "every-mon-playthrough" treatment like Yellow, so it seems a shame to lose 2/3rds of the evolution family and the full experience that accompanies
Ludicolo is best boi can’t wait to see how you improve his run next time!
I forgot we started calling them HM Mules collectively and was like, “Oh, Scott has a WAY better name for these useful friends!”
I suppose I’m even more glad we’ve all found a better name 😂
I remember playing emerald for the first time and using lombre and i can still feel the frustration of its poor movepool levelling up lmao
Oh my gosh! I'm currently up to the Norman battle...I can't believe how over levelled this thing needs to be!!! Another case of good moves being locked away behind tough battles
My man magikarp deserves to be in the graphic before the tate and liza battle
True
Hmmm you did have some poor TM management in this one, had the choice of ice beam or brick break for super effective damage against the cradily but was left with neither. Still, very entertaining video thank you! Love seeing more Hoenn on the channel even if it does take longer to play and you cant optimise it yet
I think he has a bit of a Rest bias. It’s a lot worse in Gen 3 partially because of how the EV system has changed.
It’s really strange. He really does prefer safer tactics when the later gens beyond Gen 2 generally make it so that you can just get by with attacking moves. I mean, this generation trend is probably not strictly true for all Pokémon but the point is movesets diversify up to Generation 7.
@Sasha's Scribbles TM management is a bit beyond me right now. I don't know the game quite well enough to anticipate exactly where I'm going to need them. I also forget that I can re-buy Ice Beam in the Game Corner.
Good video, i do love our pineapple duck buddy. :)
A couple of ingame things that might help ya:
keep on the back of your mind the potion ranges for pokemon like ludicolo who are not sweepers. There are quite a few difficult trainers here, (like watson) where you could actually manipulate the battle so that he might not get to super potion his magneton.
Because of his lower attack, a +atk nature would help make the first 5 gyms much easier.
Saving often is a smart move Scott. Don't forget it.
Don't worry. I probably will :P
Man, being para-fused by Wattson's Magneton is one of my first memories of a Pokemon rage-quit in my life.
Hey Scott, learned this from watching FlygonHG, but Winona's Pelliper will 100% of the time open with Protect making it a good time to use any set up moves or any moves you aren't going to use to conserve pp.
As good as Flygon is, I don’t trust his 100% probability judgements, especially since I’ve seen exceptions in many other videos.
Niceeeeeee 🎉 I was thinking astonish into bullet seed for Brawly originally good viddy
That move pool early on had terrible options 😮💨 u a strong man I give u that
I was going to ask if it would be easier to start with Lotad and actually get some water attacks at the cost of stats, but then I looked it up and saw it doesn't actually get those. It seems like movesets didn't really get good until gen 4.
Here's an interesting idea for a race: Vigoroth vs Slaking.
Oh that is a neat idea! No versus videos for awhile in gen 3 though, got to learn the game really well first.
Ludicolo is a great competative mon. With swiftswim, raindance, icebeam, gigadrain and surf with modest nature and cap defense/spatt
Scott a bit of advice, unless youre doing the medicham run i would advise you to fight every single trainer you see. Medicham is the only pokemon i know if who can solo this game with relative ease.
Juan's Kingdra and Wallace's Ludicolo are the reasons why Emerald is frustrating to nuzlocke
Oh dear. That sounds brutal now that I think of it.
Would Rock Smash have been worth it for Wattson? I know you'd be stuck with it until Lilycove, but it seems like it would be worth it for the short-term considering bad moves early on.
Would have been worth a try at least!
I haven't seen this suggestion so may as well say rock smash is available for scott's magneton, that might have been better than bullet seed
I was thinking the same thing, it would also help with slacking
@@zanewinter777 not for slaking tho, that thing has much lower Spdef and ludi is much better special attacker than phys
Concerning natures, I don't quite know if it's worth considering, but don't forget that neutral natures do exist. The additional boost to certain stats may sound appealing, but there is something to be said about using a pokemon's baseline in these kinds of tests.
Good point!
Hey Scott I really like your videos. If you have a chance I'd like to see a versus video in generation 2 between espeon and umbreon.
I remember trying to do a solo run with just Pelliper once, like, 20 years ago. Wattson crushed me. I think i finally beat him around level 50+. But I did learn a lot from that.
Oh yeah… even Protect can protect the bird against Watson.
Now we need a Venomoth vs. Armaldo run in Emerald. Gotta see whether the psychic/fairy type of Kanto wins out over the water/bug type of Hoenn.
LOL. Yes!
Something that might help you in the future, Scott - Rock Smash. I know it has a pathetic 20 Power in this gen, but considering your only other option was Bullet Seed, it was the better move here (I ran the damage calc - even in the best-case scenario [5 high-roll hits], Bullet Seed does about as much damage as Rock Smash, and Rock Smash has a hefty 50% chance to lower defense). You could've taught Rock Smash over Absorb, then Surf over Secret Power, then Ice Beam over Bullet Seed, forgotten Rock Smash in Lilycove, and taught Giga Drain then.
I feel like if you started with a Lotad and we’re able to get its level up moves it learns, that might have helped? Thief and fake out + rain dance for regular HP restoring?
During Norman you used an oran berry, which is kinda silly. You were going to use absorb in the fight anyways, so why not use miracle seed to boost the damage of the move and thus increase the healing you get from it? That would probably earn you more than the 10 health you get from the oran. Either way, good vid man.
I adore ludicolo im very keen to see this run!
I thought you were going to start from stage one mons and evolve them in your Gen 3 videos? I like your Gen 3 videos a lot, so keep it up! But I do like seeing the power spikes.
Just having fun right now. I’ll start as first stages eventually when I get more serious with the gen and I get better with my play.
The introduction of Steel typing transforms Magneton into a totally different beast. Imagine the champion fight in Gen 1 with steel typing
Sure np, fire type, ground type, fighting type and neutral damage from water.
Yea but in Gen 1 all the fighting moves suck outside of Karate Chop in Gen 1. Fire types struggle in solo runthrus in Gen 1. And What Earthquake? Can you even hit magneton with ground moves?
Slowpoke guy here, unfortunate that the pink Hippo doesn’t appear on this game. (At least the part you play)
Anyway, watching you play 3rd gen makes me gonna take out my old Sapphire copy and re start it
Do it!
(Too many cool pink Pokémon that don’t appear in these games)
I started a new emerald game back in March using my game cube and I spend hours breeding a good abra and I'm only about halfway. this has inspired me to actually go back to it.
Great video but there seem to be a bug on the overlay when you use bullet seed. Absorb showed a power of 80 when bullet seed hit four times.
Was absorb super effective making it 2x stronger? The powers dynamically update
Something I noticed about Phoebe is that Surf was doing more than 2/3 damage, so you could set up Rain Dance to give your Water moves a 1.5x boost and then OHKO her entire team. Granted that would give the first Dusclops a chance to use Curse, but you could also dodge a Protect.
That's a good idea
Remember that macho brace 1/2 your speed when equipped.
Ludicolo?
More like...
LudiYOLO
Exactly
Miror B has the best song, ever. Seriously, if you haven't Scott, look up his battle theme in XD Gale of Darkness. Its always going to be my all time favorite pokemon song, period.
I looked it up! So good!
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon Glad you liked it!
That poor hiker guy never amazes anyone, whats his name again?.. magickarp? Yeah
This is so weird literally 2 days ago I shiny hunted a lotad to this exact run lol, haven't done it yet so be interesting to see how you do yours before I do mine xD
One tip for the bag manip is instead of mashing b to get out of the menu, mash the start button. that way you don't accidentally run
Good tip
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon rash was what I would have chosen second would have been modest n I have a ton of Gen 3 experience
I would have chosen swift swim for drake alone his teams very fast n to not be destroyed by a speed drop
I'm thinking rain dance surf ice beam giga drain n hp electric for say Wallace if that's too big of a problem with tentacruel
@@nautgamingnautgaming9949 with gen 3, there are so many ways of doing a run. It's awesome.

Everyone wants to see the RUN COMPLIATION
Slowing down speed in a solo challenge can make sense on extremely slow pokemon like shuckle since mo matter the bonusses and level advantage it won't move first anyway or an extremely fast mon that will always move first anyway. mid tier speed like swampert you kinda need to maintain speed so that you can use the level advantage to outspeed
S.T.: I was bashing on Ludicolo so that y I'm doing a solo run on it.
Me: Justice 4 the duck man! Karma achievment unlocked!
Ludicolo vs Kingdra got dramatic.
When I did a Ludicolo run I used the King’s Rock w/ bullet seed. Very cheeky.
That tactic is very good - it led to the elimination of King’s Rock in Gen 8 competitive runs because Cloyster can use it in OU to be an unstoppable force,
4:09 Looks like a nice nature. Alternaties would be lowering attack or lowering defense, but lowering special defense is a good choice, and I don't know if the alternatives would be better or worse (Taking into account that Ludicolo's stab moves will all be special). I think any of those natures works.
P.S. Ay Chihuahua!
I listen to these as I go to sleep, and it was not until I heard you mention facing Wattson with a Ludicolo that I realized you weren't doing evolution series like you began doing in Gen 2. That's a shame. I hope it's because you're just getting your legs and when you redo these videos (as you already mentioned, you'll eventually need to redo everything) you'll do the evolution lines and it won't be the same exact video.
This likely was explained, but I may have missed it in a half-sleepy haze.
Just having fun right now. Still not entirely sure about evolution in gen 3.
Of course Winona would be easy with Ice Beam.
PELIPPER SOLO NEXT!!! Watson will be even worse, but Flannery will be easy. GO FOR IT!
Btw: could you consider to move the speed stat to the bottom, and spA to the top? So it would make sence compared to the ingame stat box? Having speed above special only makes sence in Gen 1😅💀
Why didn't you use Nature Power Swift on Watson instead of Bullet Seed?
Yes! Ludicolo 😂 the ultimate meme mon this I hated this Pokémon as a kid but when I got older I used it as my weather changer. rain dance, surf, sunny day, solar beam and then I’d have a torkoal or cast form in and it’s just funny double battle cheese
Miror B. is from the Pokemon Colosseum games, not the Stadium games.
Armaldo is obviously water-steel type because it gets water gun from the beginning and steel-type because Steven uses it and it learns metal claw
I think Swampert deserves another chance. Like, we all know that's the best Hoenn starter, the reason the first playthrough with it was so bad, is cause Scott wasn't yet familiar with the Hoenn games, and not cause Swampert itself is bad. If given another chance, with better strategies, I'm certain it can outperform Ludicolo. So yeah, I'll be waiting for another Swampert playthrough where it gets to prove its worth, no matter how long I have to wait, cause there's no way Ludicolo is better.
Haha, all of the Pokemon I'm playing in gen3 will deserve another chance. Precisely why I'm not doing 2 playthroughs per video in this series yet!
To be fair, it’s possible that Swampert’s strengths aren’t as relevant in a solo playthrough. For one, it lacks boosting moves.
Not normally about the gen 3 but LUDICOLO!
Scott forgetting protect for Norman
Can't get Protect until after Norman. It's in Lilycove Department, not Slateport.
Completely random but have you thought about doing an Ursering vid?? Never see that one used
Hey Scott, really like your videos and especially the quality that has gone up massively lately and I hate to sound like a broken record, but... Do you have something against hitting the opposing pokemon hard? You seem to make a habit of using icebeam instead of surf or prioritise giga drain for healing while you can simply onehit. It cost you battles against the first two elite four members and you seemed to be making Norman harder for yourself by not using return.
It's a really fun juxtaposition when you put your videos next to someone like Jrose11. You seem to like consistency, recovery and niche moves and strategies while Jrose tends to brute force stuff.
I try to make the best decisions while playing. Sometimes I make errors.
I agree with you swampert would still be slower! Can’t wait for the next run! Thanks for the video.
Ludicolo is actually one of my favorites for competitive. It has one incredibly annoying set: rain dish, leech seeds, leftovers, giga drain. It's an insane amount of healing per turn. With its decent typing and bulk, you can basically outtank a staggering amount of enemy Pokémon, extremely annoying to bring down. Usually used him Ina rain setup with ten5acruel and forretress. Ludicolo takes any medium attacker, tentacruel 8s a special wall with rain disband forretresswalls phys and can actually be quite annoying in rain, neutering fire weakness.
I'm really loving the overlay Scott! It's very informative and the programming is impressive. I do have a question though, would it even be possible to dynamically show exact (barring damage range) damage calculations like the move's power? I'm no programmer, and have no clue how difficult this could even be if it was possible, but I'm more just curious. 😅
Yes. I’ve already programmed this. However, I want to only display it in certain situations and it won’t show up in gen 3 for some time.
Seeing exact damage ranges can ruin the surprise, fun, and make the experience far too easy for me. I’ll show this during testing portions of videos though once it’s completely ready to go. (It needs to be visually styled.)
41:18: Yo! That's me! :)
For future runs I recommend grabbing the Silk Scarf in Dewford if you're gonna be using Normal Type moves like Swift, Secret Power and Return, since it powers them up by 10% like the other held items.
Also, since you hate Pelipper, I recommend using it next ;)
I've filmed a bunch of runs and so I'm not going to implement this right away. But I will start grabbing it as soon as I get off the boat now.
This is just some theroy crafting but you had rain dance and rain dish that combined with your shell bell gives a lot of hp recovery and makes surf hit like a truck. It might have made the late game easier and really utilized your ability
I agree. I really neglected it in the late game.
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon I never did the calcs for it but I think it would be a really neat thing to throw out there. Even if it would just be fore
trying to defeat Steven. It may not be viable for the elite four cause you would have a limited "pool" of moves for Wallace at the end.
I predict Ludicolo surprises you by getting the best results yet of your gen 3 runs.
Never thought about that but is it possible that kingdra is the only pokemon used by the regions final gaymleader two generations in a row?
I think so...
Wattson fight was painful. I usually try to make him waste his super potions on his earlier Pokemon, namely electrike
That’s really smart
One final comment. Why didn't you ever use Rain Dance when you went out of your way to pick it up? I feel against Steven it would have helped just Surf spam your way through while also healing because you had Rain Dish.
Thought I was going to use it, decided against it in the end. Would be worth exploring though, I think I underestimated Rain Dish + Rest + Giga Drain + Left Overs/Shell Bell too much.
And once again, Scott can't win a challenge without rest. Might as well do a rest only challenge
Custom run with a mon of his choice with only Rest, Sleep Talk, Spore, and Dream Eater. Now that I think about it this sounds like a stuff of nightmares moveset to have on a Parasect or another creepy bug type.
I pronounce Persim as Person and SIM-card. Or the Per in Persian and Sim to rhyme with Dim.
Ludicolo has its uses, but I don't care for it much. It has a lot going for it, but somehow it just never won me over.
Wonder how different this would have gone if u started with lotad then just gave urself a stone later to have water stab access earlier
We'll have to find out later!
Persim berry is based on a persimmon. You got the pronunciation right.
ngl yor layout had me confused for quite a while because to me spd is special defense and speed spe. and speed was where i expected special attack to be, and special defense were i expected speed
now im wondering what the most used abbreviations are, noticed this becase you mentioned ludis ridiculous spdef which I then interpreted as base 100 just based on visual order
Yeah, I thought about that for a long long long time. In the end I think it makes the most sense to see attacking stats in the same row and defensive stats in the same row. Then HP and Speed can be in the same row because they are the two odd ball stats. Certainly seems most intuitive to put speed in bottom right though.
I'll be updating abbreviations.
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon alright, cool!
Runpappa time!!
Both him and shiftry are great designs shafted by the movepool in this gen
Why didn’t you just click ice beam over and over against Kingdra? The first hit did over half!
I have a question, and I mean this with only respect for your craft, why didn't you go for the flinch chance with astonish against Watson's magneton you outsped? If you were having issues with damage, buying an extra turn or two might have helped there?
30% chance to flinch for potentially 15 effective power damage didn't seem like a good gamble. I'd rather gamble that I get a 4-5 turn Bullet seed and maybe crit along the way. One thing you might have more knowledge than me regarding is if Watson would stop using Thunder Wave if I did successfully flinch. In that case, it would be a good last resort if a Cheri Berry was consumed earlier in the battle.
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon If Bullet Seed averages to 3 hits, and a crit is ~5% per hit then you are taking a 14.3% chance over a 30% chance on average by using bullet seed. Not to mention that a 3 hit bullet seed is doing as much as the astonish is, not factoring the difference in attack vs special attack (wich I will concede is a honest concern.) While he will still try to use thunder wave, that is a turn he isn't going for a damaging move. I think one flinch would let you be able to bullet seed it down
There's a move deleter in this gen, teaching ludicolo rocksmash would help with Wattson a lot
It also might help with Dads slacking because of def. drops
Good idea! Thanks for sharing!
Just noticed that your Magikarp ist called Bruno. xD
Against Norman facade gains more power with status. Paralysis was probably hurting more than help
Player defeated Black Belt Nob!
OK, that's just funny. XD
Mirror B in Polemon Stadium? Try Colosseum mate :P
Before entering the E4 it you return back to the guy that gives you the bullet seed TM you should see a lady standing outside the building above you. She will give you a white herb. Could be useful for some of the intimated users during E4. Especially on physical attacker runs.
AMAZING TIP! (I'm sorry for the pain you'll experience in the next few videos. I swear I didn't know about this white herb when I filmed them haha)
