@@mrkicks7817 I don't think it was that unpopular, but regardless I think the real reason is WarioWare seems to be cheaper and less resource intensive than other series. It also helps that Intelligent Systems seems to have a dedicated WarioWare team.
@@thetadpoleprince2250 Oh yeah. And the fact that both of it's games on Switch are only $50 and were only spaced apart by 2 years shows that they probably are cheaper and quicker to make than the usual games. It's basically the opposite of Tears of the Kingdom being $70.

The more I listen to him, the more the new Wario voice grows on me. His voice in normal conversations is the weaker part, but that's also what matters the least when it comes to Wario. His shouts, laughs, and general exclamations are all pretty great.
I think with the new VA, the situation is the same for his Mario: he gets the classic phrases right, but when he speaks full sentences...yeah. There are times were he sounds like Wario Land 4 Wario, but a bit higher pitched.

It's really funny seeing people discover that the right joycons have an IR sensor 6 years after the switch released, I thought everyone knew after labo
I don’t hate the new Wario voice, but I don’t really understand why Nintendo decided to still have only one VA for basically every mainline Mario male. Mario and Luigi have similar enough voices so I understand having the same guy for them, but why not take this opportunity to recast wario on his own instead of forcing a voice actor to try and mimic the role? (I only say “forced” because instead of letting the va decide how wario sounds here it seems like his direction was “just try to mimic the Charles voice the best you can”)
The hell are you on? They aren't forcing any voice actor to mimic the role, Afghani is very much so deciding how Wario sounds here. That was the direction, they liked Afghani's Wario and had him play the character too. It isn't cause they're cheap and just wanted one guy, it's cause they liked his performance and thought it fits the character which it does. Nobody told him to just try and mimic Charles the best you can like what? Obviously the voice is gonna sound different when a different person is playing them, that's how it is. If Nintendo didn't like Afghani's Wario, they would've easily casted someone else and kept him as just Mario and Luigi.
@gamersapphsspeedpaintanima101 No lol anyone who can get the voice down can do it and it isn't one a women can do. It's gotta be a male Italian accent that also hits those chipper tones for Mario and Luigi as well as gruffer ones for Wario and Waluigi and Afghani's got it

My favorite part of this is how a chat member had to notify vinny about the theming of Dribble & Spitz’ boss microgame at 1:40:12 “THAT WAS A SKIBIDI?!”
i understand vinny's frustration at jimmy t's boss minigame it's so janky and it never registrates moves properly i'm glad it's a boss minigame so it doesn't appear on minigame collections post game omfg
I'm surprised so many people had issues with that one, the controls have been pretty much flawless for me. I still think it's one of the worst microgames though due to how slow and tedious it is.
I think the new guy does a really good job at wario. it's more recognizably different than his mario/luigi, but that's not a *bad* thing. He gets the main qualities of the voice pretty well! It's kind of a weird first game for the voice, though. Wario speaking in full sentences has always been a little odd, even when it was Charles' voice. I'm sure we'll all get used to it!
There is definitely a lot of adjusting, but in a way, I think Kevin will be able to grow into this role. It’s kind of like Casey Kasem and Matthew Lillard when it comes to Shaggy. Both of their voices really fit the character despite sounding very different, but Matthew had to grow into even doing the Shaggy voice. Matthew confirmed that he used to blow his voice out whenever he did Shaggy, but now it he CAN do it. Now, Casey will forever be remembered as the OG, not only because his Shaggy voice is the original, but because he was a very talented voice actor with great range. I hope the Kevin will be able to grow into it but also give these characters a flare that still makes it sound natural for them while still replicating what made Charles’ voices so special. I think my main problem is that I feel there needs to be more oomf? I don’t know how to describe it, but I think others may know what I’m talking about. Like Kevin is replicating very well, but I feel like he should give it more of a spice. Again, he is just starting out as these characters, and I bet he will get better as time goes on. For now, I think we should try to adjust to these new waters
@@stickitydoodah Exactly. He is replicating but that’s not the only thing that should go into it. Charles gave Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi a distinct sound to make them sound different yet similar because of how their characters are. I think what would help is that Kevin should play into the fact that Wario is an evil Mario. And yes, Wario is still his own character, but it is that whole ‘evil version’ trope that went into how Wario was created. Wario sounds like a more gruff Mario while Waluigi sounds like a more nasally Luigi. Now, this is how I see it and I might be wrong, but that’s the impression I always got when it came into how Charles made them all distinct
I can personally forgive the "Do a silly pose for a retry" mechanic in this, mostly because of the sheer JANK that comes from the weird motion controls. If this were in Get It Together, I would hate it more.
I've yet to play this game myself, but I've noticed a lot of people generally consider the steak cooking boss stage to be the worst boss so far. I'm hoping to get this game for Christmas. Admittedly, I am a little worried about the motion controls in this game, WarioWare: Smooth Moves' motion controls worked for me, at least, for the most part, but I have heard pretty mixed things about the motion controls for Move It, some people say they work fine, others say they are terrible, and some people like you say they work for the most part except when they don't. I suppose I'll just have to see come Christmas to experience this game myself and give my own two cents.
i think the primary issue with motion controls is that they're a lot more complex then the ones in smooth moves due to the improvements made as well as you playing with two sets of controllers compared to one
for me the motion controls work well most of the time, and when it doesn't, 99% of the time it's a skill issue on my part from me holding the joycons wrong, though that's because i'm not really used to switch motion controls
The problem with motion controls is: Aren't they supposed to be intuitive? I understand it's not easy to pull off, but holding your controller slightly wrong shouldn't matter. Nintendo limited themselves by not implementing more elaborate controller tracking akin to VR controllers. That would also sacrifice portability though.

I dont know what it is about this cast that makes me so attached to them, but I love seeing them all vibe together like this.
I could hardly tell it wasn't Charles in Wonder, but Kevin's Wario is much more noticeably different.
Not "bad" per se but it'll definitely be an adjustment.
I will never understand how people can get "per se" wrong.
Kevin Afghani's Wario is missing a bit of that "nasily sneer" Charles's voice had. Kevin mostly gets the gruff tone right, but I still wish Nintendo went with having separate actors for Mario and Wario, and got someone who has a naturally gruff voice.
@@SpaceSkeletonDragon I'm dyslexic and also don't know latin by heart.
Thanks for the "ackshully" though :)
Mario and Wario have been around for decades with enough speaking roles to play off. Mario's new VA is alright as they're taking steps to do something a little different, and as much as I miss Charles Martinet I'm not off-put by it. But the new Wario VA feels like a downgrade, I've heard more convincing fan impressions in fan videos.

i always love more Warioware. Glad Nintendo didnt can the series yet. I almost prefer it to Land because of the characters.
Edit: on further thought id say Warioware is more of a "true wario game" than Land, in sense that Wario feels like his own character with his own friends, rather than being just one of the Marios
I hope that team can still work on rhythm heaven tho 😢
I'm surprised they didn't can it yet. Not because I hate it, but because it was very unpopular for a long time before Get It Together.

I think with the new VA, the situation is the same for his Mario: he gets the classic phrases right, but when he speaks full sentences...yeah.
There are times were he sounds like Wario Land 4 Wario, but a bit higher pitched.
The new Mario and Wario all get everything right, the heck are you talking about. Both in speaking and saying classic phrases.
Tbh it was already kinda weird when Charles martinet mario/wario spoke in full sentences
@@paul-nj1ig i mean you arnt wrong, wario (and i guess any mario character in the main series???) haven't spoke complete sentences until gold, then no full sentence in GIT, and back to full sentences with the new VA in Move it!
The new voice is good and fitting for Wario as a character, it's not one to one with Charles but it doesn't have to be in order to work. It'll take time to fully get used to since Charles voiced them for such a long time, but Kevin has done great so far and I can't wait to hear his take on Waluigi and the babies, assuming he's also doing them.
EDIT: actually this take on Wario reminds me a lot of the Wario World voice lines. I feel like Kevin could pull off a nasty "have a rotten day"
this and Wonder are Kevin's first time doing Mario, Luigi and Wario, with that in mind he's done a good job, now to see if he can improve in future releases
If someone ever meets him at a con or something they should definitely ask him to say that in his wario voice.
IT DOESNT NEED TO MATCH CHARLES' VOICE FFS.

(I only say “forced” because instead of letting the va decide how wario sounds here it seems like his direction was “just try to mimic the Charles voice the best you can”)
@@enorma29 that’s probably why, which is really disappointing considering it’s Nintendo. They could absolutely afford it :/
The hell are you on?
@@chrange9714does your dad work at Nintendo
@@dantefloressq No dude it's called basic common sense. Try it sometimes
@gamersapphsspeedpaintanima101 No lol anyone who can get the voice down can do it and it isn't one a women can do. It's gotta be a male Italian accent that also hits those chipper tones for Mario and Luigi as well as gruffer ones for Wario and Waluigi and Afghani's got it
Mario might be the headline grabbing name, but he will do way more lines as wario than any other character cause mario never really has full lines.

i understand vinny's frustration at jimmy t's boss minigame
it's so janky and it never registrates moves properly i'm glad it's a boss minigame so it doesn't appear on minigame collections post game omfg
I'm surprised so many people had issues with that one, the controls have been pretty much flawless for me. I still think it's one of the worst microgames though due to how slow and tedious it is.
it worked for me, but I had problems with the IR sensor games
I think the new guy does a really good job at wario. it's more recognizably different than his mario/luigi, but that's not a *bad* thing. He gets the main qualities of the voice pretty well! It's kind of a weird first game for the voice, though. Wario speaking in full sentences has always been a little odd, even when it was Charles' voice. I'm sure we'll all get used to it!

Skibidi-
Keith Silversteins voice is so soothing....
Yeah, that "YEEeEeEeES" just butters my biscuits.
Yeah it's a little too dr. Doofenshmirtz right now but I suppose it'll get better
@@stickitydoodah
Exactly.
Warioware is just a conglomerate of Mobile Game ads that were simplified on the visuals.
tbh

Underrated comment
I really hope Vinny continues so he can dance his ass off
That venus fly trap was _absolutely_ a Wario Land 4 shout out--props to whoever on the dev team made the call to include that ^_^
