I have a few additions to the iceberg that I'd like to present here: - Al Jean has said that several existing episodes could serve as a suitable series finale. One of the proposed episodes he pitched was "Moonshine of the Simpson's Mind" and "Christmas of Future Passed," He even considered having the series finale lead into the pilot episode "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire", thus establishing the series is in an infinite loop. - In 2011 FOX executives contemplated cutting the pay of several crew members and voice actors and so in anticipation of the series being cancelled the episode "Christmas of Future Passed" aired and was meant to serve as a canonical series finale unless FOX executives were willing to compromise. - The Season 1 finale "Some Enchanted Evening" was actually the first episode produced for the series and is known for its exaggerated cartoony style and several animation errors. The reason for its troubled development was the animation studio Klasky Csupo were experienced in drawing in a very traditional cartoony way, which went against series creator Matt Groening's push for a realistic animation style. Tensions got so high that it resulted in a heated argument between James L. Brooks and studio head Gabor Csupo due to Brooks calling their animation "shit." - Matt Groening has admitted that he isn't the biggest fan of the original Tracey Ullman shorts due to the rushed animation as Groening was working under a time constraint and assumed his rough sketches would be cleaned up by the Korean animators, but were instead animated as they were, resulting in the rough visual style the shorts were known for. - The only episode to not have Groening's name attached was the episode "A Star is Burns" due to it being a crossover episode with The Critic, a show created by Al Jean. Groening was opposed to the crossover due to it breaking the established realism of the Simpsons universe. He hated it so much he requested his name be removed from the title sequence as a result.
About Herman's arm, there's an episode in the same season where on a field trip, Ms Krabappel warns her students about keeping their arms inside the bus, because "we all know that tragic story of that young man who stuck his arm out the window and had it ripped off." clearly implied to be Herman. There's actually a lot of this strange worldbuilding in the first season. In fact even before the Hans Sprungfield thing, it's implied there's inconsistencies in the Jebediah Springfield, like how he apparently killed a bear with his bare hands when recent evidence indicates the bear killed him. I'd wonder why I haven't tried writing one of these icebergs, but like half of it would be first-second season wierdness, and the other half would be internet Simpsons stuff, like Simpsonswave or Sugarposting lol

Re: Hermans missing arm. In S1 Episode 3 (2 Episodes before Bart the general) Mrs Krabappel tells the kids "We all know the tragic story of the young man who stuck his arm out the window and had it ripped off by a truck coming the other direction". So if this event is well known around Springfield that basically confirms Hermans telling the truth.
I once saw this weird couch gag where Homer goes to the couch and finds a remote. He presses it and time travels from 2014 to 1987, to the Tracey Ullman shorts. He presses the remote multiple times, and goes thousands of years into the future to reveal what the show might look like by then (if it lasts that long.) I recommend giving it a look and I feel like it should've been in the iceberg.

We get to see all the characters futures and it even makes the series come full circle with the first episode being “Simpsons roasting over a open fire”
I have a theory called "the treehouse was already there" witch means that no one in the Simpson family are skilled enough to build Bart's treehouse so the treehouse was already there when they bought the house
My theory for why nothing ever changes in simpsons, such as they’re age when they have a birthday, is that springfields in a time loop, so they could remember things that happen 15 years ago, and people can turn vegetarian, but they’re still the same age, and why people turn so mean, they just know that no matter what they do, everything will go back to the status quo

The hair part is kind of weird. Yes, that bone structure image does exist, but we've seen before that Bart and Lisa have hair. Lisa getting gum stuck in it and having to it cut, but ending up with a bald spot, and Lassen shaving Bart's head. I think the idea of their skulls shaped as the hair was just a running joke for Treehouse of Horror.
About the "Stephen King stole the idea from the Simpsons movie", I actually read the novel, and the only similar thing about the two is the dome concept itself. The dome's origin and the events in the novel are completely different. Also, Stephen King said that he had the base idea of the novel in the 70s or 80s

I forgot just how good The Simpsons used to be and how excited I would get for a new episode every Sunday after a weekend of playing games like Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and Twisted Metal 2. When Groening originally went in to pitch the show to Fox back in 1989 or whatever, he was going to pitch Life in Hell, based on comics he had made about bunnies trying to make it in LA. But he became paranoid about Fox stealing his idea before he went in, and drew a human family instead. He probably drew Marge as a bunny first, but drew over it with dark blue (like ink pens are) and gave the rest of the family crazy hairstyles to match her's.
Explanation for “Steamed hams is a Utica expression”, This refers to Utica from upstate NY, which is where Superintendent Chalmers is the origin for the iconic line from “22 short films about Springfield”... I knew all of this from memory, god I’m a nerd
Imma cover all of the entries that he didn’t cover in Below the Abyss. Disney+ harvests users brainwaves and dna: There is a very low chance that this is true, but hey, it’s Disney, they’d do anything for money. Dead Bart is a cover up for season 1, episode 15: There is only 13 episodes in season one. This is obviously a joke entry, but, maybe the first season was supposed to have 15 episodes. We’ll never know. Homer sightings in southern United States and Mexico: I’m scared. Mother Simpson ending is different when viewed in high-rad environment: I’m not gonna attempt this, but the theory is if you watch the ending of mother Simpson in a place like Chernobyl, then it’ll be different? Idk man. Yellowcake: Yellowcake is a yellow, powdery form of uranium. I’m guessing this theory is that the Simpsons skin are made of it, because their skin is… well, yellow. Steamed hams is a Utica expression: This is not true. In the skit, skinner states it’s an Albany expression. Dum-dum bubblegum. Homer’s original voice actor: From what I know, he has no original VA. The voice actor has always been Dan Castellaneta. The simpsons is real footage: Springfield is a real place, so there’s a chance. The show itself possesses an abstract consciousness: If I were to cover this entry, the Disney hit men would be immediately dispatched to my location. So for my safety and yours, I won’t cover this one. Chernobyl was a cover up for Springfield: If this is true, if you went to Springfield in real life, you’d see the alternate mother Simpson ending. (btw Springfield is not a real place lolololllolol)
Another great video, better than the first one, but I have a few more notes. Please forgive me if this is a repost, youtube's being weird with my comments. The Marge bunny ears were actually going to be a reference to one of Matt Groening's previous works, Life In Hell which starred bunnies. This was set to be revealed at the end of season 1, but later scrapped for unknown reasons. Konami only had the plans for season 1 of the show to work off of when they made the arcade game (Which can be seen with things like Bart having a blue shirt and Smithers having a much more villainous role) so thst explains why they're included in that. I don't fully know why the iceberg referred to it as "trans" specifically and not just "queer" or whatever, because most of that could just as easily be interpreted as gay (Like you said) The Paul McCartney thing was kinda a tongue-and-cheek reference to a popular conspiracy theory that Paul is actually dead and messages about it can be heard when playing certain beetles songs backwards. The "Treehouse of horror is canon" is probably refferring to the segment in Treehouse of Horror 5 where Homer time travels with a toaster, causing many timeline altercations. The theory is that every treehouse takes place in a different one of these timelines, with most of the show following the main one. This also explains some continuity errors the show's had, such as inconsistent flashback episodes.
The blue shirt was intentional. Someone making knock-off merchandise would obviously go with the standard orange shirt so all licensed stuff had Bart wear blue
I have to ask why the toaster theory isn't there, it's a pretty dark theory if you think about it, here's how my version goes: season 6, ep 6 (treehouse 5) one of the stories of that episode has homer break the toaster, instead of a new one he fixes the toaster himself, only he inadvertently creates a time machine that can take him to the time of the dinosaurs and back, with the butterfly effect applying each time he goes to the past. everything homer does each time he's in the past changes the entire world in the present, having him return to a vastly different timeline. at the end of the segment, homer settles for a timeline that resembles his own but isn't, as the family eat dinner with creepy forked lizard tongues. the toaster theory would be that this segment is canon, homer did in fact never return to his own timeline and lives in a timeline he is aware isn't his own. over time, homer gets a runaway sense of Capgras Syndrome, where he would feel his family and friends are replaced with doubles, imposters and that these are not the people he cares about, this would actually be true though as they are a different timeline version of his friends and family, this runaway Capgras effect would result in homer distancing himself from the people around him this would make homer more cold and cruel than he was before and throw himself into dumber and more absurd plots as he no longer cares how these "imposters" see him, what he does to them or what happens to them. Why should he care? these are just people who look like his loved ones, they are not the real thing. I don't exactly have an explanation for homer's constant status quo, but it could be that the characters of the timeline homer settled in become use to how he acts and as such never create any sense of consequence for him, homer is not in the state of mind to learn from consequence
4:31 I always wondered if he’s still in the episodes just secretly in the background collecting information about Springfield and the Nuclear Power Plant in the newer seasons
That 1998 theory came from a fanmade wikia called The Society of Dead Homers, the layout may look disturbing but it's an interest read on why they won't pull the plug despite the most beloved actors passing away, also mentioning the cafeteria woman VA being replaced.
Maybe they can't end the show because of the government. The writers subconsciously predict the future giving the government a chance to stop some of the really bad events
The reason the show has gone on so long is because it's a testing ground for new talent for fox animation. You can put a few new faces on a popular and established franchise and, with guidance, show them the ropes. Despite what they are going to do with the simpsons the show will still do mildly well as long as they stick to the script. With disney now owning fox... who knows how they are going to use the property.
I think that Play-Doh animation that used to terrify kids because they thought it was just a normal couch gag should be featured deep within the list. I think it was called "The Simpsons Couch Gag - YOU'RE NEXT"
someone posted that lentil soup song played backwards and you can make out his voice reading out the ingredients of his soup. And a message saying something like “by the way I’m alive.” Both callbacks to the urban legend that he died from the a car crash in the 60s and it was an impersonator in this place ever since. With one of the earliest things to suggest this being hidden messages in Beatles songs, which can only be herd when being played backwards (turn me on deadman, will paul be back as superman, i buried paul (or cranberry sauce?))
2:04 i know this is off topic, but sometimes i wonder if Phil Cassidy from the GTA series was inspired by this character especially in 3 and VC. Great video btw, i reccommend to complete the iceberg in 1 video instead of numerous parts.
"If you should die before you wake" is a reference to the old bedtime prayer. The original line goes as follows. "If I should die before I wake, I beg the Lord my soul to take, Amen." So, the Clown-Bed is mocking that line to frighten Bart, implying it'll kill him.

I think marge’s bunny ears are a reference to Matt Groening’s comic series, Life in Hell, where the main characters are anthropomorphic bunnies.
When Groening originally went in to pitch the show to Fox back in 1989 or whatever, he was going to pitch Life in Hell, based on comics he had made about bunnies trying to make it in LA. But he became paranoid about Fox stealing his idea before he went in, and drew a human family instead. He probably drew Marge as a bunny first, but drew over it with dark blue (like ink pens are) and gave the rest of the family crazy hairstyles to match her's.
you know it's odd if you can go below the abyss
Just finished both parts good work! 💯🙏
I loved the cult episode my favorite line is you can leave whenever you want but there's land Mines and barbed wire
Bart openly admits that he is willing to go "far" with a guy.
when?

Love the aesthetic of your videos, really brings a feeling of unease during the stranger parts of the iceberg.
This is an entertaining video I shake you by the hand
“Finale”, some would say “Pt. 2” lol. Nice vid!

That image scares sans a lot
Explanation for “Steamed hams is a Utica expression”, This refers to Utica from upstate NY, which is where Superintendent Chalmers is the origin for the iconic line from “22 short films about Springfield”... I knew all of this from memory, god I’m a nerd
The whole Indians owning corner shops thing is 100% true in the UK
how can a stereotype be 100% true lol.. thats just illogical

i watched behind the laughter as a kid and it scarred me, ive never seen the show the same since
Imma cover all of the entries that he didn’t cover in Below the Abyss.
Lester and Elisa did have a cameo in one of the comics.
I don't fully know why the iceberg referred to it as "trans" specifically and not just "queer" or whatever, because most of that could just as easily be interpreted as gay (Like you said)
The Paul McCartney thing was kinda a tongue-and-cheek reference to a popular conspiracy theory that Paul is actually dead and messages about it can be heard when playing certain beetles songs backwards.
Appreciate this! I probably need to make a whole nother video on these things.
The blue shirt was intentional. Someone making knock-off merchandise would obviously go with the standard orange shirt so all licensed stuff had Bart wear blue
Wow, this guy barly did any research
I have to ask why the toaster theory isn't there, it's a pretty dark theory if you think about it, here's how my version goes:
season 6, ep 6 (treehouse 5) one of the stories of that episode has homer break the toaster, instead of a new one he fixes the toaster himself, only he inadvertently creates a time machine that can take him to the time of the dinosaurs and back, with the butterfly effect applying each time he goes to the past.
everything homer does each time he's in the past changes the entire world in the present, having him return to a vastly different timeline. at the end of the segment, homer settles for a timeline that resembles his own but isn't, as the family eat dinner with creepy forked lizard tongues.
the toaster theory would be that this segment is canon, homer did in fact never return to his own timeline and lives in a timeline he is aware isn't his own. over time, homer gets a runaway sense of Capgras Syndrome, where he would feel his family and friends are replaced with doubles, imposters and that these are not the people he cares about, this would actually be true though as they are a different timeline version of his friends and family, this runaway Capgras effect would result in homer distancing himself from the people around him
this would make homer more cold and cruel than he was before and throw himself into dumber and more absurd plots as he no longer cares how these "imposters" see him, what he does to them or what happens to them. Why should he care? these are just people who look like his loved ones, they are not the real thing. I don't exactly have an explanation for homer's constant status quo, but it could be that the characters of the timeline homer settled in become use to how he acts and as such never create any sense of consequence for him, homer is not in the state of mind to learn from consequence
the Paul McCartney soup is a reference to the song Savoy truffle by the Beatles, which is just a recipie of a truffle dessert
Savoy truffle was written about Eric Claptons sweet tooth the chocolates in the song are real chocolates I can’t remember what brand though

I always wondered if he’s still in the episodes just secretly in the background collecting information about Springfield and the Nuclear Power Plant in the newer seasons
Just watched the first part and you posted second lol
Had to release this one quickly before I started to get clickbait backlash lol!
That Phil Hartman theory is balls to the wall crazy lmaaao I imagine the Simpson cast not taking rejection lightly
Love your videos man!!
Thanks Bene 👍
4:11 actually they appeared again in the episode "Homer Goes to Prep School", though I don't think they spoke
This video was uploaded more than 2 years ago, but I really like it. Like the first part. Great job!

Bart the Gamer
what i learned from this is that Maggie had been a badass from the very start
I think that Play-Doh animation that used to terrify kids because they thought it was just a normal couch gag should be featured deep within the list. I think it was called "The Simpsons Couch Gag - YOU'RE NEXT"

@@BookofValis honestly i cant even blame you and I shouldn’t have said video, bc you didnt make the iceberg, at least i dont think you did
someone posted that lentil soup song played backwards and you can make out his voice reading out the ingredients of his soup.
And a message saying something like “by the way I’m alive.”
Both callbacks to the urban legend that he died from the a car crash in the 60s and it was an impersonator in this place ever since.
Totally making my next iceberg video complete next week!
marges bunny ears are a reference by groening to his prior series life in hell
the real reason why the simpsons will never end is i will wither away and die if it does

Another great video! Thank you for posting part two! I’m thinking next that you do a lost media iceberg?!
"If you should die before you wake" is a reference to the old bedtime prayer.
The original line goes as follows.
"If I should die before I wake, I beg the Lord my soul to take, Amen."
So, the Clown-Bed is mocking that line to frighten Bart, implying it'll kill him.
LETS GOOOO NICE 👍🏻

I think your forgetting the fates of the campers (along with Earnest Borgnine).
The show never addressed the scene ever again

So the itchy and scratchy land one is MUUUUUUCH deeper than u said. For the bart and lisa having no hair theory, in one recent episode ( can't renember season or episode ) Bart gets git by a dart in the head, Marge, that is right next to him, gasps, and bart just takes out the dart and says that is a part of his hair
