- Another clip from the 1967/68 TV series, 'Garrison's Gorillas'.
The last couple of missions have been disasters for Garrison and his men and they're at each other's throats. And things get worse when they're chosen to act as decoys for an Allied attempt to spring a defecting German general, an almost certain suicide mission. But their luck at last begins to change.
brilliant series never forgot it ....thanks for bringing it back into my life..so many happy memories of 5 great guys👍👍👍👍💓💓💓💓💓💓
Thanks Sheila! I love this one too and I just wish someone would put out a good copy release as the picture quality's not the best. But at least we can still get to view it eh?!
I can clearly remember watching this in 1968 as a six year old.
I wish they'd give it a "proper" release. Most copies out there are really poor in terms of picture quality.
Jumping into the pond where Andy Griffith and Opie went fishin'. Franklin Canyon. Yep, palm trees in France. Combat! was filmed there as well.
Yes, I think a lot of the production team (and some of the extras) came to 'Garrison's Gorillas' from 'Combat'.
@@foreverblueclassics And the music and sound effects.
@@j3lny425 It was a direct replacement of course.
Unfortunately, this episode of video is not clear. But it was still a wonderful killing at the first checkpoint. Roadblock, a truck equipped with machine guns and twenty or more soldiers can't stop five terrorists! At the second checkpoint, soldiers didn't even have a chance to shoot before they became a dead body. It was a good example in 5:36, the soldier would never get his rifle. : )
Yes, I'm afraid this series has never been officially released on DVD and only poor copies from TV are out there. I wish it would be released in good quality. At least you still enjoyed it :-)
@@foreverblueclassics I hope this series will be remade - I would be happy to join every episode of this series as a German soldier - just like one of the 3:16 scenes in this episode, whether on the truck or on the ground. And how I wish the one at 5:36 could get his rifle!
@@SSSoldat Yes, it's maybe my favourite WW2 TV series and I just wish I could get a really good copy of it. It does exist as I remember watching it on TV and it was better than anything I've found since. And I would also be a German soldier of course, or at least a Gorilla in German uniform!
Que las peliculas sean en español porfi gracias
Do you have any of "The Gallant Men" ?
Yes mate, I have it all. I did upload one short clip a few years back but I've still to watch it all. What I did see of it it was pretty good but not as good as 'Combat', which it was up against. It's one that's on my radar for uploads though.
Love 3:56 the soldier could have survived...
We can hope!
foreverblueclassics oh I meant 2:56 great spin
@@zhangdy1108 He gets a 10/10 from me :-)
He bravely pursued and opened fire on the enemy! Unfortunately his hasty shot did not hit the enemy, but the enemy's bullet drilled into his chest!
This episode's picture is the worst out of the whole series, your video seems not too bad.
Jay Summer Cheers mate. I live in hope of a decent DVD release of this series one day. The originals must exist somewhere, just waiting to be re-shown, as I know I watched it on TV about 20 odd years ago and there was nothing wrong with the quality then. They've done it for 'Combat', 'The Rat Patrol' and 'Jericho' amongst others, so here's hoping :-)
foreverblueclassics Same here, hoping too...
Finally I have the first comment :-)
This one starts very nice with the one in street clothes firing at the Germans. Later he will be one of the five wet guys. Nice view there. But they dry up very quickly.
At the entrance they make sure the average age of the German soldiers won't get too high. Enough nice victims there.
Also at the next checkpoint another clean up in the employee list of the German army.
Thank you for another fine edit.
Thanks Gary. Yes, you made it into pole position this time :-)
My favourite kills were very definitely at the first checkpoint - 2:24, 2:42 and 2:44 especially. As ever though there are plenty more to keep the pot boiling, and the burial party busy!
Glad you enjoyed it mate :-)
