As deacon presider at Good Friday service, I played this recording of your hauntingly evocative piece. I thought it provided the perfect atmosphere for contemplation. I have played it many times since for my own prayerful contemplation.
Though I'm not a Christian myself, (I am actually a Heathen/Pegan) I absolutely Adore this type of music, combined with the history. I have always love churches, and the calmness to them, almost sometimes an eery calmness that in a way sets you in awe, but also the history of the Church, maybe why I chose the path I chose? But back to the music; This was absolutely a Magnificent piece of art! I got really touched - especially in these times! I will be saying a prayer to The Christian God aswell as to my own Gods! Bless us all - whom ever we believe in! 💜
People usually only hear the organ when it’s used to accompany church service singing, of which the average opinion is that that’s quite dull. And the purpose of service singing is to express religious believes, of which more and more people start to have a negative opinion about, thanks to negative articles in newspapers and some extremists who use their religion to execute cruel things. Keeping the religion topic aside - the buildings and pipe organs (with real organ music played on) are beautiful indeed.
I grew up listening to organ music as a kid and had several relatives that have played on some of the best and oldest pipe organs in the world. After listening to this I want this piece played prior to my body arriving at the church as a prelude.
It's very satisfying to know that there are still people with the inspiration and ability to write music that extracts the very best qualities of a pipe organ. The crescendo in the middle of that piece sent shivers through my body and soul. You should be very proud of yourself, and rightly so.
This music is perfect for grieving. My Daddy died last month and this touches my soul like nothing else ever has. The lower notes south the buried pain while the higher ones give it validity.

Thanks for your insights. If by "terror and pain" you are thinking about the typical gothic "phantom of the opera" stereotype organ, then yes. Most people think of religious music when they hear it. I hope, Mr. Debey, that your grand mother is it doing better. She is for sure a brave lady, who devoted her entire life to playing pipe organ. For sure she will obtain a fruitful reward.
Can someone recommend more pipe organ music like this because this is amazing and pipe organ is now one of my favorite instruments.
So much to choose from! But check out Widor and Saint-Saëns for "romantic" organ music. I'd say my piece is more "modern" and inspired by movie soundtracks. Also check out scottbrothersduo channel on youtube. Some real gems there! ua-cam.com/video/QT7dQy2YT6Y/v-deo.html
Also check out Albinoni's adagio: ua-cam.com/video/0nUGgvqlt98/v-deo.html
Try this one, specifically the piece starting at 18.28 time:

Glad to hear this! Many thanks Samantha =)
What a beautiful pipe organ. I´ve never seen such "design" of pipe organs.
They come in many different shapes and sizes ;-) And this one is particulary ornate!
I didn't see where this organ is located...
@@alanatolstad4824 Leeds Town Hall UK. What you are hearing is a sampled version of the organ.
I got goosebumps. Incedible. Keep up the good Work !

One of my favorite pieces to write to. The emotion within the piece is incredible and being able to use this and turn what I feel into words on a novel is wonderful 🫶
