- This is a playthrough of Sonic Triple Trouble for the SEGA Game Gear.
Triple Trouble's much clunkier than I remember it being. It's not ~awful~, but the control and framerate both leave a lot to be desired imo.
I remember this game from a long time ago, found a copy of it at flee market. rare game.
The 16bit version is amazing remaster
You can always tell who is an original old school sonic fan by the way they still refer to his nemesis solely as Dr. robotnik.
While the names are interchangeable now ( for the most part ) I've read that in Japan he's always been eggman or something that translates to eggman.
Well here in the states having purchased my Genesis before Sonic even came out my bundled game was altered beast. For 169.99
I remember strider with its HUGE ' 8 mega memory! ' (Advertised on the cover art /box) cost my dad a cool 78.99!!
While most cartridges in 89/90 were in the 50-60 dollar range. 40 or 45 on sale or like a budget tengen game, or 62,65 or so if it was brand new , special or had some sorta gimmick included.
Anyway, having rented Sonic the hedgehog first I soon learned his name was Dr robotnik.
Of course it was the most amazing game ever (i liked it more than Mario world, and still do) and when I bought it I got to look at the instruction manual which also calls him Dr robotnik.
Then after the sequels (and I did have sonic CD too when that released) they released "Doctor 💊 Robotnik's mean bean machine"
It even explained that the mechanical baddies with the defenseless, captured forest critters inside were now called "Bad-Niks" after his namesake.
As an uber- fan of 1984s "Little Shop of Horrors" I was aquainted with the term "no-good-nick" as Vincent Gardenia's character refers to Steve Martin playing the Dentist 🦷 (who, in one of the best scenes- goes apeshit on a very enthusiastic Bill Murray "I'm gonna get a candy bar! Candy bar! Candy Baaaaaar!!") I think his name was Oren Krasinski?
Anyway. Yeah.
It's Dr Robotnik and I know IM WRONG
But when I see anyone write "eggman" and they're not Japanese- I assume them to be Gen Y, Z or Millennials

Is this considered the best Game Gear Sonic game?
Objectively the best 8-bit Sonic game (alongside with Tails Adventures). Story and bosses were epic, special stages were just like they always had to be and levels were perfectly designed.
