I have that very same Turf Tiger II in the garage right now, 60" Briggs Vanguard EFI 37hp engine.. This thing is the absolute Cadillac of zero turns, a pure BEAST of a machine. I use it on my properties with acreage, knocks the work down tremendously and the stripes are amazing!!
I've got a 2017 Scag Turf Tiger II with the 35hp Big block and absolutely love it. Plenty of power and for all the power you get it doesn't drink that much fuel.
Former lazer z operator, just picked up a 52" v2 last month. So far really happy with the unit and standup mowing in general! One thing I never knew (until I flipped through my manual;) is to engage the blades at mid-throttle... and then throttle up... for increased clutch life. Who knew?!? I'm digging team scag!
I guess I could be called biased cause I'm a Scag fan, but I think you should get that mower! Looks like a solid, reliable machine, and can't wait to see the demo of the Turf Tiger II. Thanks for always putting out great content, have a great mowing season!
We run a Scag TT2 with the 37 Vanguard. The standon seems worth it just for the savings in blow time alone. Check out Ferris, not the same quality as Scag but I was very impressed with a quick demo. Ferris has a 61 standon with the 37 vanguard and they also have a nice suspension rider that would improve productivity on uneven terrain, very smooth ride compared to Scag.
I've owned both it's a really tuff call who's better but I'd.. Say exmark has a deeper dek which helps a lot if u get anything I'd go with turn Tiger or cheetah.. Probably just stick with the lazer z.. Honestly anyway they are both at very top of ladder in cut quality basically just comes down to dealer support great video
Hell yeah you should definitely demo the turf tiger 2 honestly the turf tiger 2 doesn't even look like a zero turn it looks like a beast of a machine I have watched these Scag demo videos 4 different times I definitely want to see the turf tiger 2 I have a hustler but I think I will definitely buy a Scag soon thanks for the great videos and keep up the good work

We have mostly big property's and have good grabbers to pu limbs and trash we do enough standing with...edging...weedeating..and blowing..nothing negative about skag never had one .... but I'm happy with Exmark ..and have extra belts pulleys etc...to much headache for me to change Good luck Brian whatever you do
See with all things this will boil down to dealer. if you have a crudy scag dealer this will be a nightmare. if you have an awesome dealer then willing to be its an awesome machine. i would demo the turf tiger II as well. but like others have said try to get a wright demo. top notch got one and saving green has two wrights and so far they seem to stripe really well
I have no experience with scag saving green lawn care doesn't like them. Cust service mostly I think. I bet they stripe well. We run walker and grasshopper. Walker good for what they do. Grasshoppers not bad. Like John Deere feel they get old fast. I like xmark. Interested in wright.

Hey Brian. Love the channel. Been watching your consumption of the various brands of mower demos and with my recent zero turn upgrade I wanted to share a couple thoughts from my experience. First mower was a 2013 Toro Timecutter ss5000 50” stamped deck. Mowed with it four years. Recently bought a Toro Titan HD 2500 52” fabricated deck. Some things I heard about Scag from the of the shop I bought from was. Scag makes a great product. But are like a Harley. They charge the prices they do because they feel they can. Almost like your buying into a club. I was also told they’re customer support is awful. Mind you this shop sells Toro Exmark and Scag. And at the end of they day. They prefer to sell Toro because of the customer support, commercial lawn cutting reputation and they’re quality product. Im looking forward to your review of the grandstand. At the end of the day, whatever you choose should have a dealer close by for parts and repairs and good customer backing.
I’m an Exmark guy through and through, but I’ve driven a newer grandstand on a lawn, and felt like I was racing a horse. I don’t know how fast the scag goes, but the grandstand went 10 mph I believe.
Enjoying your video's. I think load/unload time is a little faster on the stand on as well. Not climbing on an off a sit down. Just step right on. I do prefer the platform on the SVR1 to the SVR2. After running them both I feel like the SVR1 has more room. I like Exmark having ran them before but feel like a SCAG is a better built machine. Keep your Lazer but Join team SCAG Brian. I need to get me one of those hats!
Wait until you get on the Turf Tiger, all other mowers will feel like a toy compared to it. I promise, you will be hooked on the Turf Tiger. Good video!
I would think about where you want your business to be. This mower i think is best suited for larger properties, areas where the customer doesn’t care if you discharge, areas where a fine finish is not needed. I mow small to medium residential properties and so that Mower would not be a good fit for me
I'd definitely invest in a chute blocker, whatever brand/type doesn't bother me. But for my sized properties this 52" was perfect. I feel the 61" would scalp on all my boulevards and wouldn't be as easy to finagle into tight spaces. It worked great honestly, very surprised how much I enjoyed the machine.

Plus Scag is the only company I know of that has serviceable spindles which is huge in the commercial mower world, plus the stripping of the scag is beautiful. I'm a devoted Scag fan from now on. I bought the V-ride 2 this past February, and the Tiger Cat 2 last September they are both awesome machines.
After using that type of stander its hard not to love it, they are just easy on you and super convenient to get on off picking things up ect. The one question you should ask is what is the maximum angle of hill that those engines can handle, i had thought about that because of steep hills and wasnt sure if it was getting enough lube. I never found and answer if forward and reverse or side to side will starve the engine. Just thinking about it makes me want to get one of those angle bubble references to stick on the machine to see how steep some properties are.
You must have postage stamp lawns to knock 90 yards out in 3 days and only use a tank and a half. WOW!!! Wish I was in your market!!! I started the season with a Z3X bought new and traded it after a month for a wright Zk61. I really liked both but the Ferris left lines within the stripe that I couldn’t accept and that’s why I traded it. Closing in on fall I need a bagger and Ferris /wright offer horrible bagger solutions. I’m currently demoing the vride 2 because I’ve owned several scags and know their capabilities and the baggers are bulletproof. I will tell you though, the weakness of the scag is traction... It is horrible compared to the Z3X and Zk61. Downfall of the Zk is deck hop and bagger, and the downfall of the Z3X is the cut, bagger. Best ride goes to the Ferris and it’s very predictable. My 2 cents...

I want a V-ride bad. And I LOVE my turf tiger 2! I just bought a Ferris walk behind and it cuts phenomenally as well. Try one of those if you can. But I wish I would of bought the stander version because I have horrible knees and the walk behind can be rough on them. Nice vid, Sir! I'll look you up on IG now.. 👍
Tony's Lawn care It does, but I haven't used it. I just walk behind it. Not sure how it would be on the knees. I have a short vid on it on my channel if you would like to see it. My vids aren't as good as this these though.
#scagnation since day 1! Owned 4 mowers and 3 were scag (cougar,tigercub,tigercat,) And an exmark turftracer but scag has hands down the best cut and will run forever with hardly any maintenance issues. Would love to own a v-ride. Maybe soon
I know you said that toro's attachments won't work well for you, but you should still give the mower a shot. I think you should demo a Toro Grandstand, turf tiger II, and an exmark vantage. I think it will be the v ride or Toro. Keep the exmark. I think the stand on is the best for you. Good luck on your decision.
I was wondering. Also, that scag is around 9k, whereas the exmark is about 12k. One more thing with the engines: the scag has a 23 go, versus the exmark you have is a 34hp. Do you notice a difference? Also, I would keep the exmark for fall and spring cleanups
I’m the market for a stand up. Versatile, fast, wide decks, and ability to walk behind for steeper hills. Looks like this model loses the walk behind option with the safety being in foot platform??? Your thoughts?? Really need this feature
Great videos series Brian. How many hours are you hoping to get on your exmark? Ive got at 2011 exmark. Im at 1400 hrs and going evaluate at 2000 hrs which will be 2 yrs from now
The EH Group mines at 900. I’d imagine I’ll be at 1300 ish by the end of the season. I’ll keep it for clean ups since I have the ultra vac and it’ll all be paid for. But a regular daily use mower is what I’m looking to replace as the main daily work horse, probably a stand on.
I have a Vride but am worried about OEM support. Ask Lanier , Spencer or Nick at Saving Green. All had trouble getting OEM support for their dealers to back them up. Scag should answer and step up customer support before I invest in another Scag mower.
try out the wright zx stander i demoed one and I'm looking at buying one but i also have a exmark lazer z x series and i liked the wright zx a lot and i cut some big fields and it didn't beat me up and the wright did really well in tall grass
Do you have a ranking on the mower's you've used so far? Specifically scag, ferris, and exmark. Also you should try to demo a wright stander with the dualies.
Brian, all you really have to do is look at the way the machines are built to realize that ExMark is a lower end machine compared to a Scag or Gravely. It's obvious, just by looking at them, let alone running them. I'm not saying ExMark is a bad machine, it's just that they're a cheaper constructed, slower machine built economically, and that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's nothing to be proud of when comparing economy machines to high end machines like Scag. ExMark really don't have anything for Gravely and Scag.
I feel the Scag V Ride 2 is the better end of stand on mowers right now, that's for sure. Can't weigh in on the Turf Tiger 2 just yet, but soon. I love my Exmarks, but the Scag's have opened my eyes for sure.
Don't rule out the Gravely's. In my opinion, dollar for dollar, Gravely is the best there is, all things considered.... i.e. build quality, engineering, durability, resale value and dealer support. Scag is no joke, right in line with Gravely but pricey, and justifiably so.
How do the standers compare to a sit down on hills/ inclines and traction in general? My Exmark 60" Pioneer gets stuck on flat ground LOL. It has very poor traction and it's quite annoying. Thank you

This is just my opinion but I’d go with scag, the stripes look 👌
Take up less room on a trailer, we demoed one, but went a different route. If you have a need for it, get one.

Stephen Cunningham demoed a Ferris z2 with the vanguard not even in the same class as scag....I ended up with a vride 2 much better build quality
Good mower looks and cuts good you should consider going with scag in the future

I like the scag but is very heavy. If you like the V Ride 2 then you would love the Ferris Z2 with the 28 hp vanguard.
We left exmark and that turf tiger II is a beast we have 2 and cut alot of time off our days with them after switching from exmark

I briefly looked at an X - One today in between yards while I was out mowing. 60" deck with a Kaw V730 , 23hp goes for $ 8300.00 here in OKC.
I would love for you to go with Scag i love Scag, but it is not me i think you should try other mowers to find the right mower.

And an exmark turftracer but scag has hands down the best cut and will run forever with hardly any maintenance issues. Would love to own a v-ride. Maybe soon
I know you said that toro's attachments won't work well for you, but you should still give the mower a shot. I think you should demo a Toro Grandstand, turf tiger II, and an exmark vantage. I think it will be the v ride or Toro. Keep the exmark. I think the stand on is the best for you. Good luck on your decision.

I was wondering. Also, that scag is around 9k, whereas the exmark is about 12k. One more thing with the engines: the scag has a 23 go, versus the exmark you have is a 34hp. Do you notice a difference? Also, I would keep the exmark for fall and spring cleanups
How close is the dealership from you that is a big factor for me . There is no scag dealer near me unless I wanna go to Atlanta

Check out Wright Stander. A lot of guys seem to prefer that machine as well. Is there a dealer near you?
Right now I use a scag 48 stander with a velocity 1 deck. No issues at all after a hundred hours.

I’m the market for a stand up. Versatile, fast, wide decks, and ability to walk behind for steeper hills. Looks like this model loses the walk behind option with the safety being in foot platform??? Your thoughts?? Really need this feature
Great videos series Brian. How many hours are you hoping to get on your exmark? Ive got at 2011 exmark. Im at 1400 hrs and going evaluate at 2000 hrs which will be 2 yrs from now
The EH Group mines at 900. I’d imagine I’ll be at 1300 ish by the end of the season. I’ll keep it for clean ups since I have the ultra vac and it’ll all be paid for. But a regular daily use mower is what I’m looking to replace as the main daily work horse, probably a stand on.

I have a Vride but am worried about OEM support. Ask Lanier , Spencer or Nick at Saving Green. All had trouble getting OEM support for their dealers to back them up. Scag should answer and step up customer support before I invest in another Scag mower.
Yeah I’ve seen an excessive amount of whining from many UA-camr’s. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

try out the wright zx stander i demoed one and I'm looking at buying one but i also have a exmark lazer z x series and i liked the wright zx a lot and i cut some big fields and it didn't beat me up and the wright did really well in tall grass

Do you have a ranking on the mower's you've used so far? Specifically scag, ferris, and exmark.
Also you should try to demo a wright stander with the dualies.
Wright comes in about 2-3 weeks, excited to test that unit. I'd definitely rank the Scag and the Ferris to the top, so far.

Brian, all you really have to do is look at the way the machines are built to realize that ExMark is a lower end machine compared to a Scag or Gravely. It's obvious, just by looking at them, let alone running them. I'm not saying ExMark is a bad machine, it's just that they're a cheaper constructed, slower machine built economically, and that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's nothing to be proud of when comparing economy machines to high end machines like Scag. ExMark really don't have anything for Gravely and Scag.
I feel the Scag V Ride 2 is the better end of stand on mowers right now, that's for sure. Can't weigh in on the Turf Tiger 2 just yet, but soon. I love my Exmarks, but the Scag's have opened my eyes for sure.
Don't rule out the Gravely's. In my opinion, dollar for dollar, Gravely is the best there is, all things considered.... i.e. build quality, engineering, durability, resale value and dealer support. Scag is no joke, right in line with Gravely but pricey, and justifiably so.

How do the standers compare to a sit down on hills/ inclines and traction in general? My Exmark 60" Pioneer gets stuck on flat ground LOL. It has very poor traction and it's quite annoying. Thank you
Pioneers are good but dated units I feel. Standers are great for hills, zero turns for wide open. Kind of my rule of thumb.
