I was extremely scared of Large Marge when I was little. Seeing this was so cool! Also...I'm embarrassed to admit that your water bottle crush made me flinch!
Thanks for the ride along Adam. You and The Carpetbagger are my favorite road warriors. In the immortal words of the great philosopher Elwood Blues just do what you feel and keep both hands on the wheel.
My sister is a dietician, and she tells everyone that if you start your day with a full glass of COLD water, you will have more energy and feel a little better. But you have to do it before you do anything else, and drink the whole thing. It has always worked for me (when I remember to do it🙃)
Just think about finding Ms. Nunn's grave marker, if there are a 1000 graves in that cemetery, Adam you had a one in a thousand chances of finding her final resting spot. Sometimes it's hard not to think there is a higher power helping you in the search. Finally, by the looks of her grave plus the absence of flowers, she hasn't had many visitor's. It nice you celebrated her life in this way.
I was fortunate enough to discover ADW & TDW a couple of months ago, and I've done much binge watching since! Happy to be in your Circle of Goodness! I look forward to TDW every day. Fun and educational! I think you'd enjoy "Blue Highways - A Journey into America" by William Least Heat Moon. He traveled around America solo in his van ("Ghost Dancing"), 13,000 miles in 3 months, driving only only on the backroads, avoiding interstates and cities, visiting small town America. Thanks for all you do, Adam!
Adam, use real cream. Stay away from grains (wheat, corn, barley, hops etc.) and Starches ('taters, rice, pasta). Eat two meals per day. Drink water, tea and coffee. No sugar. Boom!
Welcome back to Florida Adam! I remember that Pipi movie lol Anyone remember The Purple People Eater movie from around that time? It stared Neil Patrick Harris.. Anyway.. Keep on truckin Alice (LM)! PBA is one of my childhood favorites!
I know I will sound odd but....I take photos of headstones (volunteer, not paid) for folks who don't live near where their loved ones are buried. I've learned that if you call the folks who manage a cemetery before you go, they will often flag the gravesite for you. Even if you don't know the section you can walk or drive around looking for the flag.
Memories! My parents took us to Fernandina Beach every summer when my sister and I were kids. I remember Fletcher Ave. when there were no houses on the beach side. Then I moved there for 10 months a few years ago. Love that place! Thank you for the vlog. Oh and when we lived there the Pippi Longstocking house was for sale.
I'm so glad you're spending time with your folks, Adam! It's always good to recharge the batteries with family before tackling the next leg of adventures. :-) Looking forward to seeing a collaboration video with JWW in the near future! Those are always a hoot.
Mythbusters did an experiment to determine if the gas mileage was better one way or the other. They determined that there was NO difference. The wind drag equaled the power use.
Adam, The title of your video scared me, I thought something happen to your RV. Glad your RV is safe. I had no idea that name had anything to do with the movie. I had only seen one or two of the movies.

I've been binge watching some DW's I missed for whatever reason and HOLY CRAP PIPPI LONGSTOCKING's HOUSE!!!! I don't know if I'd ever remember this! I was obsessed with this movie when I was a kid! And the girl who played Pippi's name was Erin and my name is Erin and I thought that was the greatest thing since sliced bread!! Thank you SO MUCH for the nostalgia, Adam!!!

Lookin forward to seeing where you head for adventure next. I say South to Miami and the Keys before the summer heat, then up the Gulf Coast as you decide where to go after FL. Thanks for sharing interesting places of Americana Adam.
Awesome vlog man! Excited to see you're hometown. I live in Orlando, just got done the Disney College Program. Any chance that you will do a meetup in the parks while you are here? I vlog as well and would love to meet you.
Sounded like both, or whichever worked. That graveyard's really close to the downtown area, dude prob sees a guy in an RV hanging 'round the cemetery & thinks he might be lookin to pick up. He made sure to ask if Adam partook so he could casually drop the info that he knows all the people holding nearby. He was making small talk, too, but hoping to profit from it one way or another.
I have family in Jax. Downtown Jacksonville can get very real very fast...no telling what that guy was up to, but at least he wasn't violent. Glad Adam sees the good in folks and just didn't turn and run...
HappyMommy watson Guys like him don't "bum" money, they steal it or take it at gunpoint. He definitely had bad intentions. I guess Adam didn't look like an easy enough target for him. Or maybe he saw one of those police patrol cars in the vicinity.
I love these videos. I wonder if he ever gets lonely..on the road by himself majority of the time...seems cool as shit but also a little sad to be alone so much :(
Loved the bit on Stuckey's. The chain expanded out to the west coast in the 70s, but they didn't fare so well. There are two intact former Stuckey's buildings off the 15 south outside Las Vegas. One was a now closed road stop location off Afton Road and the other is a Shell station off Cima Road. You may have passed them on your travels.
Enjoy your non-diet, Adam. One idea that made a difference for me was when I heard Silent Bob aka Kevin Smith state that he stopped drinking soda/pop and eventually cut out all added or sugar products. I'm no saint, and I'm not on a diet, but I don't eat the way I use to; I feel better and I'm slowly losing weight. Good choice you've made in going with fruit and nuts, IMHO. LOL A Stuckey's Log? Well, that's a special situation.
Adam, long ago when I was a youngster when we traveled we always stopped at some Stuckey's because you could see their signs everywhere while driving down the road Stuckey's advertising Free Pecan Divinity with each fill-up! It was soooo good! They also had a huge selection of souvenirs of awesomeness, a kids dream come true. I would literally beg to stop at a Stuckey's when it came time to get gas. Stuckey's was everywhere way back when. Those were the days my friend, 1960's.
Adam, running the tank low on fuel is hard on the fuel pump especially in warmer climates. The pump is "cooled" by being submersed in the fuel. Completely running out of fuel may completely fry the fuel pump. And BTW...Thanks for all of the great videos .
My hometown! I am actually a couple miles from all of this! Glad you returned! It was awesome vlogging with ya at the Meet Up in Orlando. Here is a link to that video if you haven't seen it yet.
Hi Adam - Loved your video today . Drone, grave site, very fun. Both the window down, and running an AC will deplete gas. However, if you use one or the other, having the window rolled down will get you better gas mileage than if you use the AC. Adam, if you really want to do your body good start doing the Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar drink twice daily...8 oz water, 2 tablespoons Bragg's, 2 splashes lemon juice, splash of cranberry...corrects the alkaline of the body as well as promotes weight loss.
Nixon initiated the 55 MPH program in 1974 during the OPEC oil embargo as an attempt to save gas. In 1995 the law was finally repealed 30 years after the gas crisis ended, and states started moving back to "engineered speed limits"; that is, the speeds the roads were designed for.
I'm probably the 100th person to point this out but it was Richard Nixon who imposed the 55 mph national speed limit in response to the 1973 gas crisis. I remember it well because I was a new driver and immediately got three speeding tickets. A judge suspended my license for thirty days. Yeah, I'm old.
The day I left the USA to serve my country in Southeast Asia (U.S. Army) the speed limit on most highways was 70 MPH and that was what I was used to driving. When I returned a little over a year later I was driving to my next duty station...in the middle of nowhere and I mean the middle of nowhere in Utah. I hadn't seen another vehicle for over two hours and got pulled-over by the Utah Highway Patrol doing 66 in a ridiculous 55 MPH zone. The officer thanked me for my service and then gave me a ticket. (Thanks For my service now here's your reward?) Like Sammy ...I can't drive 55! Out there in the desert it felt like I was crawling even at 66 MPH!
John ONeill That was Jimmy Carter who instituted the National 55 MPH speed limit, not Nixon, it was under Nixon they had even/odd days to put gas in your car depending how your plate ended. I too grew up then.
Been following you for a while and I love your videos. I grew up in st cloud also went to Ross Jeffries elementary then moved away then moved back to narcoosee and lived on nova rd. Was weird seeing you drive around my old stomping ground

oh man that school you pointed out freaked me out, last Christmas we were on our way back from a cruise and we were stuck in traffic and I was checking out that building wondering what it was. man talk about memories.
Adam, if you really want to do your body good start doing the Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar drink twice daily...8 oz water, 2 tablespoons Bragg's, 2 splashes lemon juice, splash of cranberry...corrects the alkaline of the body as well as promotes weight loss.
thank you for another fun, exciting and wondrous adventure...truly enjoyed it....oh and BTW..windows up and a/c off for best mileage...
Adam the 55 mph. was a Nixon thing. when we had our first so called "gas crisis".
I think that happened under Carter. one more reason he wasn't re-elected. lol
ahh ok thanks for the info
John Smith Nope, it was already happening when Nixon resigned in 1974.
Takes me back to Sammy Hagar's "I Can't Drive 55." We used to joke that it was because his car wouldn't go that fast.
Nixon initiated the 55 MPH program in 1974 during the OPEC oil embargo as an attempt to save gas. In 1995 the law was finally repealed 30 years after the gas crisis ended, and states started moving back to "engineered speed limits"; that is, the speeds the roads were designed for.
thanks adam, you make a bad day go away ... thanks for the up load... awsome good times..
Yah, I remember it too, and I'm older!! lol
Today...in the same place...I'd probably be hitting about 85! LOL The national 55 mph speed limit made driving in those days a real chore.
John ONeill That was Jimmy Carter who instituted the National 55 MPH speed limit, not Nixon, it was under Nixon they had even/odd days to put gas in your car depending how your plate ended. I too grew up then.
Carter instituted the 55 MPH national limit.
