Dee Dee Bridgewater & Benny Green 'All Blues' | Live Studio Session

- Grammy award-winning jazz vocalist, Dee Dee Bridgewater almost always performs with a band accompanying her, while pianist Benny Green is generally heard in a trio configuration and seldom works with vocalists (with the notable exception of being Betty Carter's pianist when he was in his 20's).
So this session was a double treat: hearing two great musicians, both slightly out of their performance comfort zones, but totally in the moment with each other.

She's a Jazz Angel and there's not much higher you can go! ....and Benny, well, he's born to do this. This is how it's done and this is why I am a Jazz Addict!
Benny's solo here gives me goosebumps just thinking about it: all shades, all hues, all blues. Wonderful work by both Dee Dee and Benny; what a great combination.
That solo of Benny was so HIP !!!
Both of you did incredible 😊😊😊😊
The consumate singer and my favorite of all time in concert and on record untouchable. You dig!
Awesome music! I love All Blues! I've heard of Dee Dee Bridgewater. Awesome singer! I love listening to KPLU 88.5. I've been listening since I was in high school.
Young man can play the piano... This lady was a stunning Beauty back in the day - 1970s...
The best blues ever!!!
Amazing
Wow she is fantastic 😅🎤
The last of the great Jazz Divas...
What an inspiration for every musician on stage...
Benny looks like he could be a 20 year old who's just really strung out.
He does look like a 20-something grunge hipster, but that's where the phrase "never judge a book by its cover" comes in...it's really true.
fuck dee dee is just a great great singer .and love the piano harmony...I think dee dee is an actress as well .I'm sure I've seen her in some American cop shows
OMG
hahahah !!! cool !!!
Great cover of this Jazz classic...Other versions of note ...Chet Baker...Kenny Burrell...Brian Auger/Julie Driscoll...This song is just sooo darn open to improvisation...Dee Dee does this song justice!!
Gosh. Love it. Benny's harmony...
The most successful (commercially and artistically) album of all time is "Kind of Blue." Had that been an RVG recording, it would have sounded completely different--robbing Bill Evans' touch of its crystalline vibrancy and deep, profoundly personal beauty. The challenge is to place the piano inside your soul, making it "sing" like a lyric poet's voice. An engineer or label must not interfere with that project.
Great---- You and Benny fit like a hand in a glove
I have a shirt like that. And there the similarity between me and Benny Green ends. What a beautiful performance this is from the pair of them. Beautiful.
This is a true GEM!
at least I found this wonderful tune...thanX !!!!!!
My man Benny green did a stint with art blakey's jazz messengers !!! #JAZZ🔥🔥

I've heard the instrumental version of "All Blues", played by Miles Davis, and by Stanley Clarke, but I've never heard anyone sing "All Blues". Awesome!
Rachelle Gould with Chet Baker 👌
The Greatest Dee Dee!
very nice! Thank you.
That's dope! I couldn't have been in that room, I would've been like damn every sec of the song!
-Don
Dennis Rowland kills this with Wallace Roney on Trumpet. However, this one is fun with DeeDee and just the piano of Benny Green.
