Digital Artist's Passive Income Guide Series: bit.ly/3oRvpIf
So let me guess: your low poly weapons pack didn't make you an overnight millionaire. Surprise.
So, is all hope lost? Should you give up? I’d say no. Blender has infinite potential. And as with all similar tools, when the obvious ways to make money are no longer available, you just need to employ a little bit more creativity.
This is why I came up with 10 different ideas for making money with Blender, which are just weird enough to make them viable. Trust me, each idea is crazier than the next, so you really want to check out the last few ideas.
And who knows, maybe that idea will make you a very rich person. Or, at least, bring back in some of the money you throw left and right for Blender add-ons. Ready? Here we go.

🤣🤣 it's a problem for 3d nerds we love to stick in our dark rooms and stay away of ppl , but getting out of comfort zone is essential to upgrade i guess
@@arrowsdevThis could be you man! You're really good with blender and game development.
I didn't cry but it was a great video!
Youre going to do well friend. You know where the juice is at and how to give the proper thanks. All the best vibes for you my friend!!!
Can you make a video about Arcane's 3D art style? I think it's gonna be interesting.
I'll be starting the script in the next few days :)
@@StylizedStation Can't wait! :)
Yes, this right here 🔥
Hell yea
i would love that
Surprisingly these tips can be applied to non blender user as well, very informative, thank you
Sir, how are you so smart?
😎😎
This is an interesting, eye-opening video. After 25 years of working as a web developer I was recently shown the door and... I felt it was about time to tackle something different, so I'm now learning 3d and Blender full time. My greatest love keeps being traditional illustration and comics, however I see 3D as a more in demand, salable skill to have, and a way to keep reconnecting with my artistic roots. And the irruption of the metaverse concept just can mean more demand for custom virtual products and people willing to pay for them. There's a whole universe I'm just becoming aware of. This may well be my biggest career drift before retiring, haha, so I want to do it right. Thanks again.
good luck friend
Sounds like an oscar winning movie
"25 years a Web Developer"
hi bro, how did you do?
Dude are you me? Also a web designer that was recently laid off and am switching to 3D in Blender. So fulfilling.
@@bassemb Trying up and learning new things is what keeps life interesting!
I have spent a lot of time watching tutorials for blender and after a while there was still something missing...and this content that you make is exactly what I and many others needed. Thanks a lot!
I bet we could come up with 10 more realms to sell your art in, here in the comments.
1.) VTuber Models & Rigs
2.) Interesting 3d prints & replacement parts
3.) Maps for shopping areas, towns, and campuses
4.) Walkthroughs for apartment complexes and airbnbs
5.) Educational models (or videos) for schools
that's what I got so far...
I never even considered Vtubers. Thanks for throwing these ideas out there.
This is honestly perfect for someone who can't do traditional work bc of health issues.
I have always been more interested in 3D art over 2D art. I customize dolls and make sculptures from scratch but they take a lot of time and finding someone who would buy them from me is difficult. So dipping into the digital 3D world is incredible. I started learning Blender in school way back and recently was introduced back into it. I'm currently learning how to import existing 3D models from Games and rig them for unique pictures and scenes. I would love to go further into it and learn the process of making an entire Character from scratch.
It is so fun to learn all these things and grow familiar with them, I would love to be able to make money with this in say a year or two. This is like a tiny hope that I may be able to support myself and not rely on others bc of my sickness. I am not expecting much bc I'm still a pessimist at heart. But sitting at home for about 6 years now and doing nothing is extremely frustrating. I'm a very creative person and I love art, It would mean the world if I could support myself doing something i'm passionate about.
I relate to and feel this deeply🙏
Hi, may I ask what health issues you have or are refering to? Thank you!
Your comment is golden and perfectly encapsulates why I also love Blender. Just the creative freedom and finally mastering stuff after some time. The sheer potential of it is beyond incredible 💜
I've just purchased a new pc around 2 months ago because I wanted to start gaming but had a terrible laptop. Shortly after I started gaming, I found blender just from a youtube video and thought it looked pretty cool. I thought that no one could ever make money using something free and so easy to use, but now I see that I am very wrong. I'm only 14 and blender has changed my mindset on life so much, and I think starting it was the best decision I've ever made. If you're watching this and you are wondering if it is worth the time commitment or not, here is a simple answer: Yes! Just start! You'll get frustrated but it's so worth it!
its reassuring to see so many people with similar backgrounds trickle into the same career paths. Find love in your work and keep being awesome yall
Speaking of making money, Cyber Monday is FINALLY here! Super excited to announce ALL of my courses are 50% off! 🎉 bit.ly/3oUbwhX
You can also create 3d printable models and environmental objects for wargamers and tabletop roleplayers, either by commission, subscriptions, or sell them in an online shop.
Outstanding video! Appreciate all that you share out here! I've been on the fence about Blender and Unreal Engine but now I'm seriously going to look at hopping feet first into it.
WHOOP! Here I am just chilling watching along and I see my tutorial! :D!
Thank you so much for featuring it!
Thank you for the video, it was very insightful!
its true about the 3d thumbnails! I've been doing it for 8 months and it's a viable source of income if you can find a good workflow
Can I ask for an advice? How and where I can find my potential clients if I want to start making 3d tumbnails?
@@almas4663 yea
@@almas4663 Bro I don't do thumbnails, I do motion graphics and 2D animations, I literally e-mail content creators I like and you'd be surprised to see how many are willing to reply and consider your offer.
@@brianjosephmedia1086 Really? That's amazing! Thanks.
These are some really good ideas and you make it sound so easy to get some money. It does get me thinking (and dreaming of what could be) that's for sure! Great video as always!
make video game porn. thats actually ur number 1 tip
I love the thumbnail, enslaved odyssey to the west is the best and most soulful game I have ever played
As I always say, your channel is one of my favorites
Already on the wedding one, lol ;) My friend is a RL wedding dress desginer. Been in a collab for some years on a way to bring her brides their dresses in VR and I was thinking of a way to bring an environment, but I like the proposal idea too. Could make some BEAUTIFUL things that way that people just love.
Thanks for this, my Brilliant Friend!! All the Best to you this year and beyond. 👍🏾
Thanks man. This introduces me the many different types of job for 3D artist that I've never heard before.
Bless youu
Great video once again my guy. I've learned a lot from you (:
Thank you for this video, opens up a lot of ideas I hadn't even thought about :)
Thanks! Some interesting ideas to get the brain going! But honestly, I've mostly been taking notes on amazing artists I need to look up now :)
Thanks for the ideas!
Some excellent ideas here. VJ loops have been my main form of passive income, both through my personal shop and patreon.
Breakdown:
1. Make Smoothies (duh)
2. Sell For parts
3. Start a UA-cam channel 9Blending things in slow motion)
4. Puree ingredients for resturaunts
5. There's really not much else you can do than make smoothies
6. Make soup (if the Blender is powerful enough)
7. Sell the Blender
8. Make baby food
9. Start a paper shredding company
10. Make more smoothies
Thanks man, your ideas are great.
Dude cant believe i was engrossed in this video for whole duration… really amazing and informative stuff man😃👌🏻👍🏻
Thanks a ton👍🏻
Thanks for the advice.
Love the creativity! Working on finishing up my first UA-cam vid tomorrow. Then on to learn substance and sculpting :)
Thank you man. What a positive piece of the internet did I just arrive to. Great vibes and success your way
I am happy you did this video and it have given me ideas on what you talking about for a side hustle. What I like is idea number 1 and 4, 3D Stock Custom photos looks interesting and it can be 3D model renders of any product like a HD Tv or latest game console. Also on 3D thumbnail looks good and you just have to created using a combination of any image manipulation and Blender programs. Pose characters in certain ways. The only question it’s to how to sell or where to sell ?
Thank you so much man. This was informative.
Solid advice, thank you!
This video was motivating really.
Love your attitude bro💪
Interesting, thank you for sharing and keep it.
thanks for the motivation, i love animation and 3D, and i really want to make a living from it, and i know i can do it, your video really help me out.
Im starting right now to practice more and more, till i can call it my full time job.
Love it! Thank you!
Just motivated me thanks man
you just blew my mind with the vr proposal / weddings concept
Thank you, a low poly weapons pack sounds like a great idea! 😊
Thank You Bro 😎
I make money using Blender and 3D printing. Great points from you, thank you.
Wow, thank you for showing us so many possibilities to use blender
Short and easy thank you
Thanks those method looks great, i am gonna applied those in my channel as well 🎉
Just started blender 3, gonna get my designs on t-shirt if I can aswel as your ideas, thanks a ton
I only tried 1 point of this list so far, the UA-cam channel. But i don't have enough experience to make tutorials ... 😂
Thanks for the advice and creativity! 😀
Make tutorials! The only way you're going to get better is if you start practicing now. Art and youtube creation are two different skills, so i'd recommend starting early :) if you wait until you're a better artist you'll waste a ton of time learning how to make tutorials.
thank you
Bro i just loved the session with you and i really loved the way you give advice anda lot positive feel ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks bro
I'm not into 3D (yet) but this was fun to watch! I'm more into photography. Great tips here.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Damm this was such a good, informative video, I didn’t know that there were so many things you could work on! Giving me ideas to start something. :) Thank you!
Thank you so much!!!❤️
Great video. Great advice. Wishing you Millions of views and subscriptions... and money from it all.
Thanks
Great set of ideas here to earn a living with Blender. Just great content as always. Cheera
Easy style to follow along with. Some of this is news to me, some of it let's me know I've been on the right track
I think the main problem isn't the ways to earn money on the market, its more the point to find your Customers for these niches you talking about.
This video is so useful and even applicable to none 3D artists.
Maybe you could make a similar style video for graphic and Motion designers (talking about creative ways to make money with Adobe Ae, Ps, Ae, Id)
I am studying integrated Design in Germany rn and will get into Blender soon, but rn I am more of a Graphics specialist and recently started doing a lot of Animation/Compositing/Editing/VFX
Inspirational, many things can be done if I understand maximizing blender
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!
4:50 as a this type of myself, i can say that if you start sharing your work on any platform if you are good and kinda lucky they will find you to hire you. trust me. I've been using blender for almost a year and I was only chilling myself. were doing stupid animations and designs. one day I decided to make something serious, within 3 weeks after I post the animation, I got a phone call that they want to hire me. best thing you can do is just start and share. nothing can go wrong with it
Thank you for this
😘
12:20 - Davi Amancio's work is amazing, an awesome artist too, the tougthest of the village.
Very good style 💎💪🏽😉
Joining groups on Facebook that are targeted for selling your 3D models, helps. And it is a free way to market your products. Hope it helps someone :)
Very good video thanks :)
Such a good a video! Might I ask if you could possibly do a tutorial series starting from the user interface to knowing what each tools do and how to use them, to the bare minimum basics and so on but in short 10+ minutes. I know it might be a lot to ask, but most tutorials online are done in long 1 or 2 hour videos which honestly is kinda hard to get into, sometimes you just wanna know a certain thing but if you have to go through a whole 2 hour video to find that info...it might deter some people. Also some of your tutorials require people to know and understand what you're actually talking about.
The best fast bare-bones tutorials for specific features of Blender is on the official Blender youtube channel, the Blender Fundamentals series of videos. 3-5 minutes per feature, such as basic navigation, adding & deleting objects, material basics, rigging basics, etc. There are some longer videos there, where they cover all the basics of a certain feature (like sculpting or eevee lighting), but those are still quite fast, e.g. 25 minutes for sculpting.
There are countless ways that a truly creative person can make a living with their art. I've been listening to other artists talk about how hard it is to make a living for nearly 30 years, luckily I never emulated that myself, and have had a pretty successful career doing what I love. I'm just glad what I'm doing wasn't on this list so that everyone doesn't swoop in and try to jump in like with everything else that comes along. I don't think it can happen though because what I do requires having a pretty solid background is several things that are very contradictory from a personality standpoint lol.
Lemme guess, Vtuber 3D Models? :P
hey man, thanks a lot
STL's for 3d printing related to D&D and Wargaming seem to be doing well on patreon.
*I'm working on content for my own channel* (I'm stocking up videos so I can lauch them simultaneously with a podcast)
Excited for 2022, thanks for the awesome tips
Good luck mate! 🤠👍
I'm genuinely surprised it wasn't just "make 3d booba"
Great insights. I wonder if you can compile these resources under the video description.
Hey Mike, thanks for the video. I am considering purchasing soft softs for the first ti. Do you have the personal version or the
You just gained a new subscriber.
Thats dope
You literally made me laugh out loud! Those low polly NTFs were beautiful… and yet!
Don't forget about 3d printing. There's a super popular Chinese style dragon being sold right now for $3 a download.
Webcomic artists always need 3D sets, acon3d or clip studio paint assets (if youre in japan) are good places where you can sell things like really simple stools, buildings, heads, shoes ect. If you can do a detailed model of a large amount of things to make a full set (like a small town, or a resort for instance) those go for 50-500$.
I havent sold anything officially, but after making a literal empty bookshelf with no color or anything free and getting 2k downloads I am pretty sure youve got a shot at making a few bucks
thank you...
Im loving hearing the stories in the comments about people in their journey to learn and use blender
ty
That last VR Marriage thing kind of sounds cool... maybe long down the future but non the less sounds cool!
Yes
the slow megalovia hits
I'm learning Blender and I understand what's wrong... This video motivated me to learn English! Thank you for your hard work!
I recently got a tablet, and tried searching for blender. But did not see it, Saw nomad sculpt instead. I love the program, RIGHT now my skills are low, but I plan to work and refine my skills. Then at first at least, offer commissions to people to make custom dnd and other characters for people to hire me out. When i will get more comfortable with blender(well after I start learning it) Could even do animated scenes for a signifigant moment in peoples campaigns. From there ill expand my skills and knowledge.
If I could I would subscribe to you twice. Good vid bro
You Really caught me there at 1:00
Today is really Sunday 😁
brilliant video. i also want to commend you on you diction and pronunciation! cheers and thanks.
What is the thing in the beginning with those little platforms and the mower? Looks super cool
For the last two days I've been watching your videos, I'm currently working as a motion graphic designer for an IT company and I'm not happy here and I'm a 2d motion artist but i wanna learn 3d and I'm thinking that in 10 days I'll be completing my 1 year in the company and I'm thinking taking a break for 6 months and learn blender and do freelancing i was scared to take that step but thanks to you i got confidence.😀
So, 3 weeks later: did you take a break?
"e-cards" oh boy, my grandma sure loves those
megalovania in the background. Love it!
I was pretty interested in 3d art for a very... Very long time now but never got the chance to do so since I could only use either a low end phone/tablet or a low end laptop, now I got a slightly better one that's got at least 5 GB above the minimum ram and I am happy now I'm in the process of making my first official render but with a little background with artistic study on anatomy and lots of Sims 3&4 building stuffs, I hope to make my first render a worthwhile experience and maybe... Just, maybe finally earn substantial money off of my art for once and get my ass off of the red while doing something I actually like and not return to the hell I call jobs that restrict my creativity
Thanks to you ... I just subscribed to Ducky 3d and of course to your channel too ... CHEERS
MEANWHILE ... fantastic content in this video.
