- The late Cameron Boyce was honored by his Disney family in 'Descendants: The Rise of Red,' five years after he died from complications of epilepsy. Cameron played Carlos, the son of iconic villain Cruella De Vil, in the first three three movies of the hit franchise.

China loved cam so much.. not to say that the other cast members didn't but her bond with him was really strong.. she lost a piece of herself when he died
She pretty much quit acting after that. This her first role since 2019 that I know of.

@bradtobin839 No, I know she was on that, but that was around the same time and she quit after the 2nd season and they had to recast for the character of Jennifer. Or something like that.
Those two knew each other for YEARS and cared deeply about one another. Their friendship was beautiful.

I love how they honoured him though it was short. The way China’s tears actually looked so real shows how much she cared, those tears aren’t just fake, they are real and I think it was touching and very sweet.

I believe we all needed that reminder to recognize that even though he's been gone for over five years now, he is still a part of our lives. He's still a part of Descendants, and no matter what happens, we will always remember Carlos, also known as Cameron Boyce. When I first saw this, I cried because it was so heartwarming that Disney honored him. Even though the Descendants won't be the same anymore, we all know that, but we need to remind ourselves that Cameron Boyce will always be a part of our lives no matter what happens. It was a nice tribute to him. Thank you, Disney.

His death hit me hard. I have epilepsy and it just broke my heart. Im glad they are paying tribute to him.
I also have epilepsy and his death struck me so hard. I loved him so and still love him til this day. He was literally my childhood growing up. I watched every movie or series he was in. He was such a comedian and had such a kind heart. He is one of a kind. No other celebrity will ever take his place.

Cameron is the first time I’ve lost someone dear to me. He wasn’t my close friend although that would’ve been awesome, I’ve just grown up with him. seeing him on jessie, descendants and he was even casted for his own show gamers guide to pretty much everything. Cameron was getting casted left and right for so many cool things and his career was at its peak .. then he was taken from us. I don’t think I’ll ever understand why it’s always the good ones who go first. from ages 6-13 not only was he my childhood crush but my role model. i even wanted to meet him one day but the only i can do that now is through the afterlife if it exists. rest in peace Cameron, i love you forever. ❤
When I saw it it made me nostalgic to see Cameron's photo there I cried too much 😢
I really thought that they’re going to do that at the end of the movie. But, instead they put it in the beginning. I still get emotional when Uma started to cry.
This dude had a whole life ahead of him and now he’s gone. This is so unfair. I hate it when the world takes away the good people. Like Chadwick Boseman, Matthew Perry, Paul Walker, Dj Casper, Aaron Carter, Chance Perdomo, Tom Parker from the Wanted Band, Steve Hartwell from Smash Mouth and now we just lost Shannon Doherty. I was hoping that she would get better after her battle. I hate when cancers take victory.

I don’t care what anyone says. Descendants 4 was fun. Still, I like the original cast better, but you can’t argue with the new stars. I’m happy they did mention the old cast, especially Cameron Boyce. I really do wish he would’ve been here to see this.

This makes me so sad. When I heard about Cameron Boyces's death back in 2019, I was so sad for a whole week. He was the reason I loved the Descendants movies. He changed my life, he changed everyones, made me and everyone happy. Gave them hope. I wish Cameron Boyce was still alive.

The wild thing is that in most movies when people glance at a picture it slide that person is missing or they died in the movie but they looked at his picture knowing he isn't gonna come back, even outside of the movie.
When I watched this movie with my girls who love these movies, I definitely cried.
