That yellow gate at 12:42 on your way up Gray Creek Pass is right after the left that gets you on the old powerline "road" over the pass, not recommended, steep, baby head rocks. Check your raw footage of the switchback just before the gate. The powerline was removed a few years ago and mostly (only?) quads ever go that way now. The bridge there is gone now and the creek crossing is easier later in the year after a gap in rainy weather, just like crossing St Mary's River after doing Rose Pass. The east end of the powerline road is somewhere in the 20/22 minute section of the video but I didn't spot it, may be on the editing room floor.

Hey Dudley, thanks for watching. I just had a look at that on google earth, maybe next time for sure. Looking at BC backroads maps, there is a road leading up to a lookout?? or maybe a cell tower about halfway between where that power line road meets RCFSR and the junction in St. Mary's valley, have you been up there?
And Rose pass is another topic all together, I guess a group went up to thrash their way through the alders, but I'm not certain about crossing the river, does it get low enough to cross with a bike?

Well that was a waste of time. I posted earlier but that post which had a couple of links to posts/threads at Adventure Riders has disappeared. I may try again tomorrow, done with being on a computer for today.

Next day now. That road goes to a communication tower of some sort near Hall Lake. I have not been up there, yet.
The person who gave me the GPS track for Rose Pass figures St. Mary's River would be doable late summer/early fall during a dry spell.
I did the powerline track over Gray Creek Pass east to west in 2008. The west side descent is steep, mostly baby head rock, much pucker factor. No doubt it is way worse now since the powerline has been removed and most if not all users are riding quads.

There are threads re Rose Pass and Gray Creek Pass on Adventure Riders' Canada sub-forum. They are in a few pages now. Later in the year they'll make the first page for a while, the usual pattern.

you complain about being too hot and made a comment ( dress for the slide not the ride } SO my Question is why are you not wearing gloves ????

LOL, thanks for watching...and you're not wrong. I actually have ridden motorcycles most of my life. I have had a crash or two, both on asphalt and dirt. When I race MX, I wear the thin moto gloves and on the dual sport leather palmed trade gloves or mechanics style gloves. But when I ride off rode and you're on the bike for hours I do find them very uncomfortable. I never really gave a thought to doing some research for something better but if you have some ideas hit me up!! Another reason and not always but I find I can manipulate my screen on the fly without gloves a lot easier. But again, I'm sure there are product out there that have that capability.
      Cheers!!
