“We shed light on the development of our digital art & music from its beginnings in 1988 until now. In "From the Floppy Disk to the Metaverse", we embark on a journey through the rapid evolution of this immense field of pixels, sounds, floppy disks, CD-ROMs, vinyls, Digital Land Art, immersive spaces, Web3, XR, performances, phygital installations and the Metaverse. How privileged and courageous we were - MALE FEMALE - to jump into the new online world so early and play a major role in shaping it. It's just so much cooler to have been there early”. “STATION ROSE are the artist Elisa Rose and the composer Gary Danner. The collective is one of the Austrian pioneers of digital culture.
In 2018, they transferred their early work to new systems. Their oeuvre is supported by a wide variety of media and formats - from floppy disks and immersive audiovisual installations to vinyls and NFTs, which constantly generate new forms of presentation. They are currently building their VR world "Gunafaland" in the Metaverse. Works from their archive of digital art history from 1988 to the present day will be presented in an audiovisual performance and discussed in conversation with Dr. Christoph Thun-Hohenstein.” Belvedere 21
