You know what is so great about cricket, that all other sports have progressed so far in the past 20 years that this generation would dominate those teams from the 90's and 2000's, but cricket is so pure that players could inject in any generation and be just as great.
Everybody remembers the wickets, but forgets how much Warnie contributed in other ways even when he wasn't taking poles. Pressure, pressure, pressure. Mind games. Sowing doubt. Truly was the King 👑
@@sanjaygupta666what a comment yes aus after this won five world cups two champions trophies one wtc and many odi tournament for your kind information up to 2024 they played 26 finals one tied won 21 even India under dhoni from 2007 to 2013 lost four finals won six in odi greatest team australia
Good battle between warne and the Protea duo of Kallis and Cullinan . In this match, there had been other good battles : 1) Elworthy (pace) vs Ponting . 2) Donald and Kallis vs S. Waugh 3) Jonty Rhodes (42 runs ) vs all Aussie bowlers .
This was ODI cricket at it's peak, when it was must-watch sport. Now, betting money, tiny boundaries, flat tracks that offer nothing for bowlers, and the selection of half-arsed teams of selector's mates, has ruined it and turned it into rubbish.
The Guiles of Warnie will b missed on the field and his absence in the commentary box. Few spinners had the Charisma of fast bowlers, warne murali kumble saqlain were definitely 1 of those few
South Africa blew it, the Aussies had so many lucky breaks during this tournament including the group game between both sides, Gibbs' drop would have won the game at Headingley if he'd clung on.
Aus team (1999-07) -- 11 players, 13 match winners (incl sledging and umpires). Warne n Gilchrist were the trump cards. These set them apart from SA, the next best. McGrath, Lee, Gillespie were relentless too. Plus, they had allrounders like Moody, Watson, Symmonds. No other team was remotely close. In comparison, SA mishandled a generational talent like Klusner. Speak of priorities!!

A match that changed the fortunes of two great teams
That's a very interesting observation. Never thought of it that way before. And you're right

Best individual performance in history of wc
I think you are forgetting a certain 201* from the last World Cup.
Very defencive approach...He was a great bowler.

the seth efrikans played very, very well against a rampant bowler. more power to ''em
6 overs, 3 maidens, 5 runs, 3 wickets. Can any bowler dream of such a spell today?
Yes, alot them actually.
I think it was 4 maidens, 3 already before that last delivery when score was shown.
It’s regulation for Warnie.
I use to do that in the Test Match Cricket game all the time.
Fair play to Kallis having pride in his wicket.
Damn I miss bill lawrys commentary so good these were the days

Marvellous stuff! How many wickets would Warnie have taken in the era of DRS?
Or even have some denied with DRS. All works out even over his career
Probably fewer on the basis that he got some dodgy ones at home before neutral umpires came along.
❤❤ after a long break...

2:24-2:27 what a seam presentation.
In the days when a strike rate of 69 was deemed good....
Nicotine addict, alcoholic, womaniser and a flamboyant brat. Yet he was a sorcerer. The Houdini of spin bowling. RIP master Warne.
& now you have guys like steve smith who cry on national television ffs
bring back the nicotine, hot women & heaps of booze!
Baaaaooooolinnn Shaaaaiinneee.

Dot balls can be interesting
Hansie was not out
The overly defensive play of the top and middle order lost SA this series, they relied on Klusener at 8 or 9 far too much.
Jack kallis the greatest cricket player in hez time
Rubbish!
Sheneee theeee greaatttttthhhhhho baooolaaaaaa
