Chaps, from an England fan and a loyal one at that, I hope you give your upmost over the next 2.5 months. I recognise the importance of media but I'd gladly go without all the media content/behind the scenes stuff if it means that we rock up at the WC fired up and at our best. I never thought that Borthwick was going to fix everything 9 months before a World Cup and I don’t expect for us to get to the final. But what I do hope for is good performances that we can be proud of to restore a bit of bite back into the shirt and Twickenham. There are lots of ‘fans’ expressing their discontent of the squad, fair enough but we’re here now- the players have been selected and that’s that. I'll get behind you boys and I hope others do the same!
@@chrisnunn7888You can’t say it’s outdated. Springboks won a RWC only 4 years on the back of this style. Steve Borthwick has only had 8-9 months in charge. I’d say a total of 2 months with the players in camp. How much do you think he can implement in that time? If you knew anything about coaching, you’d know the last part of that comes together is the attack - because off a good attack you need a solid base of the core skills. England’s best chance is to play these basics, kick chase rugby.

As an avid England fan, I really hope we see more from the team this weekend and in the WC. I live in Vietnam and stayed up very late to watch the Wales game last week, and I honestly regretted it. When you're a couple of scores down and just 15 minutes to go, please roll the dice and look for the win. Putting up endless box kicks and playing with no flair and endless handling errors was as difficult to watch as the Lions tour in covid. You're all so talented and I believe you can get far in this upcoming competition. All we fans ask is that you play your hearts out with a smile on your face! Come on boys
when england won their last world cup, they did it on old school rugby values....im an england fan through and through, and ill stand behind you men 100%, no matter what your choices are. all im asking is that you do us proud, and give us somthing we can stand behind you for. no matter what happens. do us and your country proud please. thats all we ask.
The sheer level of negativity from fans and media towards England is exhausting. It's worked up hysteria from cynical feelings after this loss run. But back when i was supporting them between 06-10, some of the worst years, the vitriol was never this bad before There is no way this team is suddenly going to be an all court running team. To stay the fans, it will have to be a winning one, but its unfair on Borthwick to have hired him in world cup year with so much expectation to look competent in time for the tournament against teams that have had 4 years to do it. I dont care what england fans say, Im still going to watch england. Theyre still going to watch england. And to be honest the kicking game, if it becomes a winning plan, wont be criticised by emgland fans. But we'll see...
What an important thing - education on the logic and rationale of kicking. Why it matters, how skilful it is, why it’s exciting, literally every top team does it.
Teams that win more, kick more. That doesn’t mean that if you kick more you will win more. I hope Borthwick knows the difference between causation and correlation.
No surprise that it's pretty much about the kicking game, as of late that's England's only attacking strategy. Hopefully they develop as time goes on, but based on recent years I can't see it happening.
England has 4 years to think about what went wrong in France. As the next Rugby World Cup will be held in Australia. The last time England won the Rugby World Cup, was back in 2003.
Please utilise the backs more, rather than just smashing it up with the forwards and then box kicking it to death! The boys must be gagging to actually run with it
How ironic - after a terrible, kick-heavy performance last week, we’re treated with a video on, guess what? KICKING! Waheeyyy. How about you keep the ball in hand this week and score some TRIES.
After one of the most toothless, boring attacking displays I've seen from an England side, you post a 15 minute video about kicking 😂 It's like we're being trolled 👏
Kicking didn't work, passing didn't work, game plan....did we have one? All that happened was we kicked and gave the ball away and lost possession, do we not trust our backs to carry? We were crap, still going backward and now we're taking 3 10s and only one real 8 to the WC god help us....
They look great on the training ground, and seem together/well formed, dont they? How far from reality this actually is. Come game day, they were hopeless beyond measure against Wales, clueless in the face of a game plan that didn't work, playing a cynical brand of rugby and not doing it at all well. They were hapless with ball in hand, the players looked as though they didn't know where to stand, the couldn't think for themselves and couldn't consistently execute a basic lineout or scrum. With the exception of one or two players, the entire team were bereft of creativity, ability and energy. They look over-coached and exhausted, compared to Wales who were energetic and passionate. Something needs to change and change quick, but with 5 weeks to WC kick off, it's all too late. This team will be destroyed by any of the top 8 teams in the world based on current form and the only positive that will come out of that is Borthwick will be released from his contract.
In the next instalment, Ellis Genge, Jack V Poortvliet and Max Malins will highlight the finer points of lacing up ones boots...........................

Great to see Fordy back in the mix. He was crucial to steering Tigers to prem title last year. His game management is arguably above the other 10s!
Really enjoying this series. It’s time to focus on the games, now that selection pressure has been removed. This is a very talented pool of players.
