she was a maker, before Tara...because when she is about to turn her and is lying in the grave she says " Don't worry i've done this before... but it didn't turn out well,"
I just went back and watched that scene again. I can’t believe I never noticed that she said that. It sounds like they didn’t have a good enough bond like she has with Eric. She is devoted to her maker and he is to her. What a relationship!! I would’ve thought she had the same with who she turned and stay forever. I’m just in shocked that I didn’t even notice that she said she had done it before. Lol
I am sure that what he meant was that it's time for her to become a maker [again]. With Colin not in the picture, Pam is not a maker. Now she is, and though they act as if Tara is her first, all the memories she is having kind of make sense, because it is the first time that she actually feels something about being a maker. She is certainly more grown up in her thinking about this special bond. Colin was just for fun.
Rich of Pam to be talking about sentimental vampires when she’s the biggest cry baby when it comes to Eric - if he’s happy she’s happy and the other way around as well. If Eric said that about her, SHE WOULD DIE.
@12TheEnigma: In the WW2 scene we actually see an American soldier; the allied forces invaded Europe on D-day June 1944. But close enough time-wise; and I wouldnt think that a 1000 year old vampire would be that specific about the miscalculation of a decade ore to... :)
@eliptikus actually, that makes sense... I don't know what year he said that or what year that flashback scene in world war two happen.. (I kind of remember I think it was 1942 or something) but, WW2 started in 1938 and True Blood started in 2008 so either way, that's 70 years, which means it could be possible it had been about 70 years since he saw Godric if he left he right after those flashbacks. Maybe a little less than 70 years, but when you're 1000 years old I'm sure one or two years make no difference.
@eliptikus May I point out that world war 2 started in 1939, that's what, 71 years ago? It could have been any time during the war, like the beginning perhaps, that Eric and Godric were seen fighting together and who knows, maybe that was the last time they saw each other. So it is actually a very good sense of time.
And why would Tara think one doorknob would be hot and not the other when Marnie cast the same spell on all the doors and wanted to imprison the entire coven in the emporium! Why would Tara be so stupid to think there was a magical loophole!
@ElodieYoung I think that spoiler simply meant that Lafayette will still see Jesus (his boyfriend) since he's a medium and said he'd always be with him. We will see Godric in flashbacks/dreams again, I'm sure, but he made peace and died in Season 2. If anyone is resurrected, I'd bet it was the Queen or Nan.
think about it this way: world war two started in 1939 and ended in 1945. say that when they showed that shot, it was at the beginning of the war in 1939. by the time 2009 rolled around, it HAD been 70 years since he had seen Godric [assuming that it was 1939] even if it was 1945 it would have been almost 70 years since he had seen him. so it wasn't a mistake on the writers part
@eliptikus umm hate to break it to you but WW2 took place from aproximately 1939 to 1945. Soo even if season two is taking place in 2009, which would make it the case that he hasn't seen Godrick in 65-70 years, it's really not far off. A lot of people have this conception that the war was taking place in the sixties or something but it took place from the late thirties to the early fourties. Just thought you should know :)
okay... Lorena: "I haven't seen Bill Compton in over 70 years..." Eric: "I haven't seen my maker for much longer than that!" yes there's 70 years between 2009 and that start of WW2, you could be right if the interval was exactly 70 years, but in both cases it's more than 70 years (in fact we know that Lorena released Bill in 1935). Besides those 70 years would only mean the very start of WW2...but thanks for enlightening me about history. lol. Jeez, who believes that WW2 was in the 1960s???0_o
@Live2Dance321 He tells Pam to make a new vampire, so maybe he meant actually keeping her progeny and not releasing him/her like she seemed to do with Colin rather quickly? Or the writers just made another mistake lol...
@MrRoygbiv24 Its canon from the books....and perhaps Eric doesn't know...or like Pam says it probably didn;t matter because she cut him loose and was just experimenting.
@MrRoygbiv24 Eric asked her to be a maker because he thought that he was going to be killed, but he lived so that she wouldn't have to. Now from this, I assume she's talking about one she actually made in the past, but he either died or she killed him.
end of season 3, around the time Eric thought he was going to die , didn't he tell Pam it was her time to become a Maker shall anything happen to him? but she already is one...
Did it state when in WWii the scene took place? If it was prior to 1942, and if that was around when Eric and Godric parted ways, then it WAS over 70 years since Eric had saw him. I do realize I am necroposting and for that I apologize:)
doesn't match up cuz Eric saus "pam, its time 4 u 2 become a maker" in season 3, if she did it alreayd, Eric should have said "Pam, before I meet the true death, you need to become a maker again, but this time, don't kill em..."
I realize this post is from 3 years ago lol, but to "cut someone lose" means that they say, "as your maker, I release you" and they no longer have command over their progeny, and the bond between them is severed.
Godric was already old when he embraced Erik in the swedish viking age (700-900 A.D). At this time, he may have been already 3000 years old or more... so It is entirely possible he was older than Russel. Just not much older.
I THINK it was 1945 which could have been 66 years; but there could be logical reasons why Eric said that; I am pretty positive they wanted to keep what they did a secret...if I remember correctly.
@ElodieYoung when they say "jesus will return" I think they are refering to Jesus, lafayettes boyfriend who died in the last episode of S4....and not Jesus Christ!
Pam is from California & was turned by Eric who originated in Sweden. Why does she have a deep southern accent? I know we can all say “she fakes it” but her & Eric moved to Louisiana in the 90’s. Odd for Pam to have the accent & Eric not to when they’ve literally lived there the same amount of time together.
@eliptikus Hehe! Yeah! They've been making more mistakes and putting more things in that don't make sense since season 2! I guess they thought that since it was close to 70 years that Eric had not seen Godric that it was a small mistake that didn't matter anyway! I still don't get why Bill would order Eric to glamour only specific people and not the entire crowd after both of them killed Marnie and that creepy, wimpy follower of hers! It makes no sense!
@eliptikus Ehh WW2 was 1943 2010 2010- 1943 = 67 close enough he won't say exact date, I mean it's awkward plus he just made it easier for sookie or w/e he was telling
that's not possible. at the beginning of ww2 flashback there's an american talking to the werewolf girl. America joined the war in 1941. So it had to be after 1939.
Sentimental? Is Eric sentimental?. He told her before making her that making a vampire was a great responsibility and the deepest bond. What? By trying to shit on Bill canton, she is also shitting on Eric and Godric. Maybe she’s the odd one out.
@eliptikus yeah, i notice those inconsistencies too, another one is in season 4 sam and his shape-shifter friends can smell another shifter, but in season 2 why couldn't sam sense that daphne was a shifter, and how did sam change into the Bull? i thought he has to see or "imprint" on something before he can shift into it. there alot of inconsistencies but it's still an awesome show, i hope season 5 tells the back story of godric and how and when he was made. i also hope they show more Alcide!
you're right, it doesn't make sense...but it's not the first time in true blood. remember when Eric said that he hasn't seen his maker for over 70 years in S2? then in S3 we get a nice shot of Eric and Godric in WW2! it's either a) Eric has a reeeally bad sense of time or b) (and I think it's the case) it was the writers' mistake...and I have a hunch they'll make another mistake again when comin up with a story for Pam in S5 'cause there've been a hint already of her being a hooker, we'll see =D
@MrRoygbiv24 I think she managed to abort as a maker and either killed him or just didn't follow through and never turned him. She should though it could be funny!
and the only reason to watch the show anymore unfortunately is pam. plus with new writers i'm not seeing pam get the great lines she always use to and her character demands,
LOL at the comments. I've read all the books and I am sure that Pam was not even a hooker she was just well a young girl who liked her next door neighbors cousin or something & Eric turned her then. in the books. I quite like True Blood (the programme) as although they fucked up claudine & calvin norris & jason not turning into a panther GRRRRRR FFS! they still kept lafayette on which i am so glad about, made jessica & created Jesus. I cant wait for season 5 as season 4's ending was amazing!!
People like Pam because she is a real vampire, she's not sentimental as the others in the show... I LOVE HER, MY FAVORITE EVER!
It’s called moral nihilism
she was extremely upset when Eric released her, Pam is undoubtably one of the best characters in the series.
she was a maker, before Tara...because when she is about to turn her and is lying in the grave she says " Don't worry i've done this before... but it didn't turn out well,"

Pam is the best character in True Blood.
She loved Tara.
LMFAOOOO"The glow wore off"
I am sure that what he meant was that it's time for her to become a maker [again]. With Colin not in the picture, Pam is not a maker. My queen!
Eric might have not known, he never told her about Godric or Nora so it would make sense that she would have had a secret about this.
I'm not 100% sure how to feel about this.
Love Pam!! Ruthless, love it!!
@12TheEnigma: In the WW2 scene we actually see an American soldier; the allied forces invaded Europe on D-day June 1944. But close enough time-wise; and I wouldnt think that a 1000 year old vampire would be that specific about the miscalculation of a decade ore to... :)
I Loved Pam ❤ She Qas Very Pretty And I Love Her Accent ❤
Eric is the best tho haha 😁

.:sigh:. Pam, when i grow up i want to be just like you.
And u did ?
YIKES! why would you want too!?🚩🚩🚩
Maybe it's because I wear too much pank.... LOLOLOLOL
@eliptikus May I point out that world war 2 started in 1939, that's what, 71 years ago? "NO BITING ON PREMISES"

Sad that the other commentary videos were deletey 😢

I hate to tell you that Godric is not truly Eric's maker, they said that in the show but in the books his name is Appius Livius Occella.
Tell me some other differences from the book?^_^
That was insanely funny.
@MrRoygbiv24 Its canon from the books....and perhaps Eric doesn't know...or like Pam says it probably didn;t matter because she cut him loose and was just experimenting.
Well Operation Werewolf was in 1945 so that's about 65 years ago, so maybe Eric just didn't really get into the years ^^
@MrRoygbiv24
Eric asked her to be a maker because he thought that he was going to be killed, but he lived so that she wouldn't have to.
Now from this, I assume she's talking about one she actually made in the past, but he either died or she killed him.

I believe that clip was the initial german occupation of poland, which would be about 1939..so the timeline isnt so far off..
We have the same mind. I'll love to see how that will play out.
doesn't match up cuz Eric saus "pam, its time 4 u 2 become a maker" in season 3, if she did it alreayd, Eric should have said "Pam, before I meet the true death, you need to become a maker again, but this time, don't kill em..."
What does this mean "to cut someone loose" please ? What happenned ?
I realize this post is from 3 years ago lol, but to "cut someone lose" means that they say, "as your maker, I release you" and they no longer have command over their progeny, and the bond between them is severed.
they said too than godric was oldest vampire in USA,but got russel in missisipi with 3000
Godric was already old when he embraced Erik in the swedish viking age (700-900 A.D). At this time, he may have been already 3000 years old or more... so It is entirely possible he was older than Russel. Just not much older.
@@Alejojojo6 I think its stated somewhere Godric was bit over 2000 years old turned during last century of B.C, and Eric is bit over 1000 years old.
@eliptikus It was 70 years ago since WW2...
65 years, 70 years, whatever; its been a LONG damn time thats the point
I THINK it was 1945 which could have been 66 years; but there could be logical reasons why Eric said that; I am pretty positive they wanted to keep what they did a secret...if I remember correctly.

@eliptikus Ehh WW2 was 1943
2010
2010- 1943 = 67
close enough
he won't say exact date, I mean it's awkward plus he just made it easier for sookie or w/e he was telling
that's not possible. at the beginning of ww2 flashback there's an american talking to the werewolf girl. America joined the war in 1941. So it had to be after 1939.
They're not going completely by the books though.
looking back on this comment now how do you feel about how they made up pams story?
You're right, it was 1945.
@hannaissacarre Finally someone smart.... Thank you!
@ElodieYoung When they say Jesus it's the boyfriend of Lafayette. Himself said to Lafayette he will be there if he needs him...
Sentimental? Is Eric sentimental?. He told her before making her that making a vampire was a great responsibility and the deepest bond. What? By trying to shit on Bill canton, she is also shitting on Eric and Godric. Maybe she’s the odd one out.

Pam
She said: "I tried..."
probably should not have worked, and she killed Colin
Vampires aren’t allowed to kill vampires
CORNWALL!! WOO
eric!
I wish I was a maker
No.... you don't.
❤️
@MrRoygbiv24 I think she managed to abort as a maker and either killed him or just didn't follow through and never turned him. She should though it could be funny!
Hahah. The best bitch in the world. :D
also in recent episodes it seems Tara was her first Progeny.... another plot Hole... but oh well most people don't watch this anyway
No, she said befoe making her that she´s done this before and it didn´t end especially well
Just play with lil O me lol😎🍷🌆
and the only reason to watch the show anymore unfortunately is pam. plus with new writers i'm not seeing pam get the great lines she always use to and her character demands,
