Nice plaster casing. I imagine that you will do a small batch of castings, that is why the casing will be made of plaster. When I do a longer production casting or the part is very large, I prefer to make fiberglass and polyester casing or even fiberglass reinforced polyurethane resin casing, they are lighter, more durable and you can apply more pressure with screws when closing the casing. Thank you! I usually use acrylic resin if the mold is bigger or needs to be bolted together. It's a bit less toxic and works better for my current studio situation. I'd love to learn how to work with polyester or polyurethane some day! Maybe if I ever get a studio all to myself.
Silicon mold on outersurface is not exactly as inside...so how will plaster mold catch the actual sculpture? Is this mother mold only to support silicon mold?
