KRASNAYA RECHKA is a settlement of the 7th-12th centuries in the Chuy valley on the above-floodplain terrace of the Chu river. Krasnaya Rechka ("Red River") is one of the villages in the Chuy region in Kyrgyzstan 8 km east of Kant, 34 km east of the city of Bishkek. In 2009, its population was 7,274 people.
Nevaket existed for several centuries, from the 8th to the 12th century. Now there are ruins from it. During its heyday, it was a settlement with a multi-denominational population. Christians, Buddhists, Muslims and supporters of other religions lived here. One of the main artifacts found by modern archaeologists during the study of the ruins is a statue of Buddha made of clay. It is known that in those distant times a missionary school existed and was active in Nevaket. Her preachers traveled to various countries, including China and Persia. In 2014, the ancient settlement was included in the UNESCO list of cultural heritage.
There is an Orthodox church in the village. Every year on the day of Christmas, the marathon of the Bishop's Christmas trees is held here.
