Recently, we visited Poland for a few days to meet with Ajahn Kondanno, one of our monks, who is trying to establish a small monastery/hermitage there, in the style of Hillside and Samanadipa. We met with several people who were very interested in the practice and answered their questions on Dhamma over the following few days. You can find out more about the project and support it via: www.fundacjadrzewobodhi.pl/en/support/ Your help is much appreciated! Anumodana.
Our foundation members in Poland are actively looking for a suitable property. Once that is found, then we will probably have to organize some fundraising locally and internationally in order to be able to acquire it and have a few kutis set up.
I do OMAD and I do it in evening, because that consistently is the most convenient time for me to take a meal. I understand why the Buddha advocated for OMAD and the spirit of the 6h precept. To my mind I certainly have the precept. If I were a monastic I will respect the noon specification. But for now I'm content with my style of OMAD.
Great news👍Trying to keep siła studying and being grateful to Buddha’s teachings which at least dragged me out of madness due to ignorance and my own stupidity. The Abbot is so outspoken and so transparent Perfect combo for making Dukha at least bearable. All lost folks please have a look at Hillside Hermitage message and few others ❤What I love about this teachings they are no science fiction stories.Sumedho,Succito,Thanissaro my Rip Grandma,Rip Mum ❤My friend high rank officer responsible for security for people from all walks of life regardless mind stories My Chris and Joasia who is lost but moral.Still Ahmed Algerian Guy who is Lovely Muslim and who keeps Muslim precepts which don’t vary much from the one taught by Gautama ❤The difference come from mindset Mr Abbott here is convinced 😂
Good evening Dhamma family any advise for an older vision impaired practitioner that practically could never ordain because my vision lose is so bad. I keep worldly relationships to an absolute minimum and I also listen and try to implement all of this communities teachings. Along with keeping precepts and mindfulness What else could I be doing to come as close to realization as possible in this situation? Is there any possibility this could be addressed in a video?
Firstly, do more of the same and do it increasingly better. :D Secondly, maybe look into disability benefits or grants for people with visual impairments (if you're not receiving it already). This could provide you with financial support and free up more time and opportunity for solitude and practice (turning a disability into an advantage). You don't really need to ordain if you can simulate the core of a monk's lifestyle to the best of your ability, and a full-time job (I assume this is you) is one of the main obstacles, especially today with all the stuff that comes with it, standing in the way. It might take a couple of years longer without being a monk, but I think it's very much doable (Stream Entry). Ajahn Chah once estimated up to 5 years for Stream-Entry, but that was an estimate for fully ordained monks, so in a lay setting, say up to 10 years would be needed maybe... Of course, this is just a general idea, I don't know you specific situation sir.
Bhikkus, how does one become ardent, how does one find true faith or conviction, What advice would you give to someone who is struggling with not being ardent ?

Great news! Is anything already known about the actual establishment of a monastery in Poland? Place, time, etc?
