Data East went all in. SNES FH is an even better port than the great SFII one. You gotta love the announcer. "RAY... Wins!" If you lose a round, he gets a bit dejected. "Ray loses."
I love this game, everybody called it a SF II ripoff, but the music is excellent and the gameplay is fun enough. Also, the way the announcer says WINS is awesome 😅
Indeed, it's a great game, and the SNES version is an accurate port. Fighters History is one of the best home console fighting games of the 16bit aera imo.
A great port, especially considered the hardware differences! The 90s were my favourite and Most interesting time of gaming, also the best games (and the original ideas of course) came out in the 90s.
Me and my best friend used to play this quite a lot when it was new. Not sure where he got it from but you knew right away when you picked up the controller that it was a solid fighting game. I still enjoy playing this and its sequels to this day. Good stuff.
This game was awful on the arcade and came out 8 years before Snes . Was ported on Fanicom also still a shit .For some idiots everything was great on snes.

This game was so high spec, that Capcom, at least the US branch of Capcom felt threatened enough by it, to sue Data East. But, I don't care I want to see another Fighter's History game, now in 2023
I played fighters history back in 1994 and was a blast! i can say it is a good street fighter clone, well done by data east, i think the snes version was the only home port, also there is a saturn port of karnov revenge the sequel to fighters history 1.
As much as Fighter's History blatantly copies Street Fighter 2 in just about every aspect, I can't help but find an odd amount of joy and appeal that Data East pumped into Fighter's History to make it entertaining. I think of it like this: Street Fighter 2 is the large corporate food chain that everyone knows, where as Fighter's History is that small Mum and Pop food store that always had strange oddities/brands you've never heard off and can't help but be fascinated/curious about at the same time when you enter.
I'd never noticed the flashing weak spot until today. I've watched the lawsuit video and came here to compare the arcade one that I hadn't played to the Snes one that's familiar to one.
And the gameplay is faster on SNES, just like Street Fghter 2, and I prefer to play fast! It's definitely a good game, but part two (Mizoguchi *I don't know the full name*, a SNES exclusive) is even better imo.!
The snes version is an amazing port, the gfx is at lower res but it almost have all the arcade stuff, Chars are ok and well animated, sound its really bad but technically its a really good port.
@@JoseMarques9090 so the sprites remade in lower resolution doesn't make sense? Use less pixels to draw a char or use twice the pixels would look the same? 😂

This game is such a SF knockoff lmao 🤣 I have this game for my classic on it and for the switch. Its fun and honestly this game is nearly a perfect port much like MK 2 and SF II for SNES to the arcade.
Man if you were a fan of this game in the Arcade and wanted a home conversion man you were definitely not disappointed and treated to an amazing port.

You can play the SNES version on the switch
Many snes game's tend to be letterboxed.
Small tv?
Hmm...
While both versions look good, the characters' names on the HUD during the gameplay has two different colors at the arcade.

Capcom took data east to court because it was to similar SF2 in 1994. Data East won and I don't think it's that similar to be honest in my opinion.
