I have never owned a Samsung phone because of their two years major android updates. I use Oneplus for the flexibility in the use of custom roms. Samsung has just convinced me with their four years major android updates. I'm buying the S22 ultra now.
With the slowness of tech upgrades in hardware these days it is a good thing for Samsung to go this route.. but I pray that they deliver good stable ones as they can become bad like with the A52s had previously.. they should keep a uniform updates for all their sites.. M and F included as we are paying the Samsung premium "tax" for these phones still.. thank you for another great video..
I own Galaxy F62 and Samsung has promised "2 years" of OS updates and "4 years" of security patches , it would be mind blowing if the OS update for F62 increases for upto 3 years. As I'll be keeping this phone for 4 more years, n features wise this has everything I want including "link to window" so no problem establishing a samsung ecosystem 😃

Well the Note 9 still gets security patches. I think that's my main concern since I put all my credit information, banking apps, and investment app on the phone. I could be wrong but I been tracking some of their older phones and it seems like since the Galaxy s7, their flagship phones seem to get security patches for four years. Once you stop getting major OS updates doesn't mean you have to throw away your phone. It still works. I just worry when security updates since I have so many important personal information on the device. I think five years of support is good enough because by then you might either break your phone or the battery is starting to die.
@@tamwilfred hi. I have a Note 9 as well. It stopped getting updates at Android Pie (9). I have no problem with it though coz my phone still is fast, smooth and battery life is superb. I just wonder if it'll last me one more year. Coz i really don't like to replace it yet
@@ronadelle1126 that is weird. What country are you in. When I had my Note 9 it got the Android 10 update and I still got security patches. I think the last security update was in mid August. From my experience Samsung makes high quality phones. I had my Note 4 for about six years. I think it died in 2020. I beat that phone up, did a bit of gaming and played Pokemon Go in the hot summers as well. The Note 4 does not have cooling like the Note 9 does. If you don’t have any issues then I think it could last you one more year or even two. I loved my Note 9 until it got stolen. I would have used it for another year or two if I still had it. I love that phone. I am tempted to just buy another one for sentimental reasons. It was a phone ahead of its times like the Note 4 was. Note 9 still has the SD card, fast fingerprint scanner, and iris scanner was useful during covid with masks.

i have been using phone for 4.5 years and now it has started to give headache with ghost touches and 60 percent battery health. also security patch of android oreo is dated august 2019 which is not good.

Yes I would use my phone for 4 years. Landfills filled with 3 year old phones. Digging up more resources so someone can say I bought another 1300.00 phone. A small tweak of pics and I still get people wondering what phone camera I have. A51, moto z4(I broke) still turned heads and had iPhone people jealous because of the projector and jbl mods. Yeah I'm going to get something I don't have to deal upgrades with.
Hi, if you wanto enjoy the latest and best features you should update it, the additional memory if any would be marginally higher which you won't notice, and battery drain Wil happen irrespective of the update as the battery will have it's own life cycle however in rare cases the update may affect the battery but if that happens it will be rectified with upcoming patches

Samsung says they're testing more devices that they released before and you probably need to wait. Snap 865 and 865+ is great processor that can be eligible for Android 14.
Even after the last update, I would recommend you still to keep and use the note20 ultra if you have it as long as it does what you like it to as the new phones these days by Samsung are completely getting crap.

Overall Samsung has been pretty good with security patches. After Android 6 most of the OS updates haven't been big improvements. Mostly recent OS updates have been changes in the UI. I don't know about their budget line or midrange but their flagships have been getting about four years of security patches since the s7 I believe. The s7 got close to five years of security patches. I think Samsung killed off the support for their Note 8 in four years but the Note 9 still get security patches. With recent Samsung policy about OS updates and security patches I think Samsung is on par with Google or even surpassed them.

Last phone I had was 12 yrs old before became dead & had to buy my current note 20 phone, so yeah…..use phones till don’t turn on anymore as can’t buy 1k phones ever 1-2 yrs, not even every 3-4, smh Cell companies. Samsung should get rid of m series and f series we already have a series like a53 and a73 being midrange, a23 and a33 being midrange, and the a03 and a13 being budget we don't need the m series and f series. Been using 6T from 2018 ,I would def switch to S20Fe if they offer the 4yr software update.The phone is a beast tbh.

Samsung should get rid of m series and f series we already have a series like a53 and a73 being midrange, a23 and a33 being midrange, and the a03 and a13 being budget we don't need the m series and f series. Samsung should get rid of these 2 s series and give their flagship 5 android updates to be more in line with Apple I know they sometimes go as insane as 7-8 we don't need that. 5 years of android updates and 6 Years of security updates are what we should have on top-notch flagship Samsung phones and tablets while the upper mid-range gets 4 years of android updates and 5 years of security updates while the a33 and lower get 3 years of android updates and 4 years of security updates
In reality, Samsung should update all devices all the time as long as your using on of there own phones,
As these days Samsung is getting to be to greedy and big for there own boots as don't know what the fuss is about when it comes to a android update,
All a phone used to do was talk and text,
I've lost faith in all of Samsung's phones since 2021,
will keep my phone until its no good at all to use,
Money greedy tech companies is all these people are for you to buy there products once they put a virus in your phones to buy a new one,
Good job I'm no heavy user of any phone,
As I'll keep my 2 backup phones of the s9 plus 256gb, and the note9 128gb as both are duel sim, sim free and will still use the Note20 ultra 5g 512gb 12g ram until it's dying day.
