Wow. I was not expecting Rip Ride Rocket to be #1 on this list. After several bad rides, I gave up on this coaster a few years ago, but keep hearing that some people love it so I think I need to give it another chance.

Glad that someones giving dragon's fury the credit it deserves! It goes well with Vampire, and will be a great supporting coaster for Mandrill Mayhem! Spinball is also great aswell and Slightly underrated. Unfortunately, I did not get to ride G-Force at Drayton Manor, I heard it was a snappy & forceful ride.

Now You See Me: High Roller at Motiongate is definitely the most insane spinning Maurer I’ve been on. The speed and scale of the drops is just not like any normal spinner.
I also quite liked Insider at Wiener Prater. Had no idea the effects would be so intense.

So far I've only ridden two of their roller coasters; Phoenix at Adventureland Iowa and Hollywood Rip Ride Rock it at Universal Studios Florida. The latter is easily my favorite.
I heard GeForce was removed from Drayton Manor because of maintenance and is currently stored in the Netherlands. I hope it gets an overhaul and finds a new home in that country because it looks like a very cool ride.

I've ridden the following in germany
    - The base wild mouse is a classic in germany. One showman on the oktoberfest has a mirrored second one standing side by side to increase capacity. Looks super massive. This one has the trims pretty much turned off. Quite a airtime pop on the small bunny hill and crazy laterals.
    - I've only ridden 3 (technically 2) spinning coasters. One standard SC2000 model (wich ran quite rough and punchy without trims) and the Winjas. Man Winjas at Phantasialand is something else.
    - Sky Dragster is a weird one for me. I love the open feeling of having just the seatbelt and I also love that airtime (hold the turbo button) you can get on the... idk is that a double up? The launch is surprisingly hard. What I don't like is the location. I visit this park often. It is a well known trip destination for schools and stuff like that. So it can get really crowded. This park is not known for it's high throughput rides and fast operations, so the Spike coaster was imo a bad installation. It also starts to run quite rough sometimes.
    - I love the Sky Loop. I rode the prototype one. The breaks aren't that bad if you lean fully back. What I don't like are the models wich didn't get the restrain upgrades. The prototype Sky Loop presses your lap bar further and further down. It's quite rough and the back, but I like rough rides. This one has got a big problem though: The breaks are failing a lot.
    - Freischütz is as I have mentioned in another video of yours one of my fav coasters ever. I grey out when going multiple times. Funny thing: After going about 30 times in a day on this coaster the hells bells were the only thing hurting a bit.
Looking at Abismo makes me sad. This is what was promised when the prototype Sky Loop was announced for the Skylinepark. I really wanted this. Airtime is what south germany really needs. We have B&M Hyper at Europapark and Expedition Geforce at Holidaypark, but that's pretty much it when it comes to intense airtime coasters.

i have ridden 4 coasters by them, here is my list since i am bored:
    1. Ukko (Linnanmäki) / All the Maurer skyloops, Ukko was the coaster that made me conquer my small ''fear'' of coasters, awesome hangtime, uncomfortable restraints tho.
    2. Salama (Linnanmäki), the theming in the queue is very cool, even if it is ruined by thousands of chewed gums, like you mentioned the rotation is bad, also it has the longest lines in Linnanmäki, its one of the best coasters there, but i have not ridden it in maybe 2 months (i even have a season pass), it may be the worst day ever, yet Salama has a 45 minute wait, even if taiga maybe a walk on.
    3. Insider (Prater), Awesome theming in the queue, i was so immersed in the experience going through the ''maze'', it took me until the 3rd ride until i realized i can skip it, the layout is the BAD part, it felt like a normal spinning wild mouse, the lights were cool tho, its also miles better than maskerade. Also, i think it being 3rd out of 4th makes it sound bad, no, i just didnt like the layout, also the themed bathroom next to it is awesome.
    4. Wilde Mouse (Prater), I love some wild mouse coasters, this coaster is my all time least favorite, i have only ridden 24 coasters as of now, but i hope anyone reading realises how much i hate this, this HURT, i hope its better when you ride it not alone but in my only ride i was in pain the entire time, i felt pain in my shoulder for 5min after the ride, its my first actually Horrible experience on any ride, i absolutely hated this coaster, Maurer maybe one of my favorite manufacturers but this coaster is horrible.

    Maurer in a Nutshell:
    "They made HRRR."
    THOOSIE "Cool, something unique."
    "It's their best coaster. "
    THOOSE 😬
Maurer makes good Mice like rides (i put their spinners here too), but I just don't know why any park would pick them for a thrill coaster over Intamin, RMC, B&M, VEKOMA, Premier, Gerstlaur, Chance, S.S, or even Zamperla.
Their problem is they seem to put too much focus on being unique over getting the fundamentals right first.

  • @ThousanWhite
    @ThousanWhite Рік тому +1

I really enjoy HRRR as well. I feel like Universal Studios attract a large number of GP guests that may not necessarily be coaster enthusiasts and so they may not be accustomed to the style of intensity for such a ride. As a result, they could easily interpret the quick laterals, snapping inversions and speed hills as being "rough". The same type of feedback you often get from people that complain about Iron Gwazi or Steel Vengeance.

I have to admit Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket is a pretty underrated coaster in my book. It's too bad that most enthusiast want this thing to be torn down and replaced which I get it yeah the ride maybe genki to some and outdated and yes it is a maintenance nightmare which is pretty concerning for it's future at the park. But for what it is a pretty unique ride experience you can't get from anywhere else.

Imagine the history of groups of enthusiasts who went to Bayern Park and rode Freischütz. Most who rode it would say:
Freischütz is the roughest Maurer X Car coaster in the world. During the ride, the train rattled start to finish; but the lap bars prevented any headbanging.
It was a bit tricky to marathon them from the rattling on Freischütz, because they gave...
    A) A fine ride
    B) A below average ride
    C) A great ride
    D) An awful ride
    E) A decent ride

I would definitely put Dragon's Fury over Winjas. The layout is just a level above that of the prototype. You can tell that they had experimented and were willing to up the spinning and forces from Winjas. I'm always surprised by how much airtime the hill has, especially for a family coaster. The trick sections on winjas come across more as gimmicks after some rerides.

Maurer coasters are just weird. The sky loop is such a strange unique type of ride. I'd say the most normal Maurer thrill coaster is HRRR which is still so unique. I know we probably won't see more things like that but HRRR was good aside from the million brakeruns. The Spikes are going to most likely be the new bog think imo. Venus GP is by far the best looking Maurer with its 5.2 Gs, I'm so glad it's moving to Himiji Central Park.

I also know a spinning coaster from Maurer, Canobie Coaster would say:
This is a plussed coaster. For one, you have a fun little ride sequence at the start. This is a Disney coaster after all. Then the main layout has some fun music and psychedelic lighting effects, but not enough to reveal the full layout. This makes the ride extra disorienting. Despite having to operate at a higher capacity, this one is not braked too harshly so the spinning is very strong. Just beware the ride's queue line. What does that mean and what about the capacity? What do you think?
    A) capacity machine
    B) good capacity
    C) awful capacity

Imagine riding again an intense one of a kind coaster from Maurer that Canobie Coaster would say:
This is the world's only extended SkyLoop. The ride starts with a vertical chain lift with freaky hangtime, then you have a barrel roll with hangtime and laterals and a dive loop blasted with positive Gs. You then go an overbank that causes me to greyout, a camelback with strong ejector airtime, and a speed dip to the station with good floater airtime. But this ride does have two issues. One, the capacity. Two, there is a very noticeable shuffle on the pullout from the dive loop and first turn that caused me...
