2017 Ford Explorer LED Headlight How to Take Apart Disassemble
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 лип 2019
- Took apart Ford Explorer LED headlights. It did not come with LED DRL, so I found a broken Ford Explorer headlight for parts that I took the LED DRL off and swapped it into none DRL headlight. The process is some what hard. If this is your first time taking headlights apart, than these headlight is pretty hard.

Very nice, will save your video as I would like to black it out like the sport.
Like you're content and how you explained, nice camera views/angles. However I'd love to see the finished product installed and in action. Thanks.
Thank you so much
Yes, where you can separately buy that internal LED strip?
Hey do you have replacement low beam led panel pieces laying around? Mine quit working!
Hej - czy musiałeś też wymienić moduł? bo różnią się wtyczkami (szara i czarna) do szarej jest z końcówką "A", a do czarnej z końcówką "B"?
Does it have any part number on it?
My high beam works but no led or running lights
What is tht c shaper thin liner led called?? ]
The headlight bulb has only 2 wires. What gives you the HIGH BEAM? Is there 2 bulbs one for low and the other high? Thanks GREAT VIDEO
The low beam is LED, which you do not have access too without taking the headlight apart. The bulb with 2 wire is the halogen high beam, which you can change.
At 5:36 do you know if that bottoms piece can also be disassembled so that the silver/chrome pieces can be painted black? So that I don’t have to buy one with a black bezel. Thank you.
Yes you can, even the amber reflector can be separated from the chrome bezel. Note the plastics are fused together in spots, which you will have to glue it back together when reassembled.
Mine has the drl led blown, do you know where i can get it?
It's led it's better too but another led headlight all in one piece
was there anything extra you had to do to upgrade you headlights? looking to do the same thing with my explorer
In my case, I only swapped everything from DRL headlight into none DRL headlight. To make the DRL work, headlight was switch to auto, and under setting>vehicle>Lighting I turn DRL on. If you have the same options, than it should work on you explorer.
@@GRCLights Only thing I see under lighting is Auto Lamp delay, was the DRL setting there before or after you installed the DRLs?
Where was the led bulb on the low beam side? Is there no bulb and is there only a chip to the left of the reflector
Yes, the low beam is illuminated from the sides, from the heat sink side. There are couple LED chips there, but no bulb that you can remove.
@@GRCLights a lot of car brands have came out with cars that have an LED option for the premium lighting but if a led goes out you have to change the whole assembly
Help plz
My wife's 2017 ford explorer xlt sport right headlight led (low beam) is not working nor the u thing around the headlight isn't working. But high beam work fine for both. Could it be a fuse? Or should I buy the whole headlight
There is a module that is mounted on the bottom of the headlight swap it with the left headlight module and see if that fixes the problem.
@@GRCLights thnx so much!!!
I will try to tomorrow
Did this work I’m experiencing the same issue
@@jaiquanstudios4165 yes it was the module. It was fried. It has 2 screws. Took it off and somehow water got in and fried it. Bought a used module off of Amazon for like $20 and it worked
Too expensive to attempt in my opinion. I'd like too, to install signature leds
